I like how easy it is to scale a document and then use it to find measurements, areas, and sizes of things. This data then lets me quote a project, then plan for the project and complete the project. This allows me to make less mistakes while installing a project and get things done faster. This keeps us on track and on budget over the course of the entire project, start to finish. There are a lot of things that can be done on Plan swift. I feel like a need a proper training so I can get the most use out of it. Planswift is generally a good program with great organization. I often pull dozens of drawings from a bidset, and it can be difficult to keep them all on track. Folders, subfolders, renaming, easy moving/deleting is all helpful. A small bonus as well--a wide range of colors to keep my takeoff easy on the eyes. Hot pink is useful to no one. It may just be my company/computer, but opening any archived jobs takes such a long time--perhaps because I have a lot of jobs stored. Also, sometimes Planswift randomly decides I don't have a license to use it and I have to reenter my company's information. Small, but annoying. It did require a bit of a learning curve, but if you're already familiar with construction software (I was), it's not too difficult to pick up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

To try and do more complex takeoffs (such as repetitive units in multi-family construction) is not very easy. Can not get multiple takeoff quantities from one takeoff measurement (ex. calculate LF of sidewalk and CY of concrete for sidewalks with only one takeoff entry). choosing only the files i need is a great feature. I also like the way i can add my take off quantities to my sheet to be able to print out and add to my bid package. The ability to work on the files from home or work by switching the user licence back and forth. Learning curve on this software is long. Also collaboration between users can be a pain. I would need to email my file to another user and sometimes the files would be sent missing items or not even sent. The cost per user is also a little steep. Planswift can better utilize collaboration between users. If they could provide access to a cloud version for multiple users can work on the same set of plans at the same time.
