It also prints security tags to keep our minors safe. It is the only system that syncs with our whole data base to track attendance. **What do you dislike about Planning Center Check-Ins?** Planning Center Check-Ins has to be used in correlation with Planning Center People. This means you must purchase these two packages together. In addition, I do not like that the app only allows you to see the front side of Check-ins and not the backside which allows tracking and data analysis. **What problems is Planning Center Check-Ins solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before Planning Center Check-Ins, we couldn't track data on each member of our organization and everyone who interacts with our system, now we cannot only track how many times they show up to events or what events they are coming to, but we can safely and securely make sure that our entire team is accounted for. ### 2. It is easy to train volunteers, and it is easy to equip parents with understanding for quick and easy return check-ins after a relatively simple first check-in. **What do you dislike about Planning Center Check-Ins?** The scalability of the pricing structure is arbitrary and doesn't fit our church's size very well, but it's worth the slightly extra cost for ease-of-use and security. **What problems is Planning Center Check-Ins solving and how is that benefiting you?** PCO Check-ins allows us to easily check in children for worship gatherings. It has solved the bottle-neck of our check-in hub by speeding up the process of checking in returning children. It is easy to set up and easy to show volunteers, so that folks are able to get effectively trained quickly. ### 3. It also allows us to control attendance (due to COVID related restrictions, we can't have one child above the limit). Analytics help as well. **What do you dislike about Planning Center Check-Ins?** We would like an option to assign kids to a single location and not allow them to change it (even though they may meet the requirements for another location… we have 4 rooms for same age kids and we want to have a single teacher to look after them and follow their learning process for a whole year). We did solve the issue by using registrations, but that requires extra work from our side, and to pay another subscription. **What problems is Planning Center Check-Ins solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before Check-ins, we did everything by hand. That included registering every child and parent by hand and it took a very long time for children to enter (20-30 minute wait time). Also, you can be mobile with the system as long as you can print the labels. And the Bluetooth printers that are compatible make this a possibility easily. **What do you dislike about Planning Center Check-Ins?** There are times that the system can be bogged down because it requires constant internet access. So if are having connection issues on a certain day then you won't be able to use the system to its full advantage. **Recommendations to others considering Planning Center Check-Ins:** Make sure when you are inputting the information for kids and families that you get all their information. The more you get the better and you can never have too much information. **What problems is Planning Center Check-Ins solving and how is that benefiting you?** This gives us a one-stop location for check-in and allows us to have more than one spot to check-in during Sundays or Wednesdays. Also, with the large campus, we have the ability to check-in at any entrance. ### 5. It is so easy and quick to make changes or update things on the fly in the middle of events. **What do you dislike about Planning Center Check-Ins?** I always have a hard time of making new label printers easily communicate with tablets. I wish it was literally plug and play, or that Check-in/PCO would suggest which is the easiest printer to buy. **What problems is Planning Center Check-Ins solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are solving the problem of checking in and keeping track of over 175 students a night. We are also solving the problem of gathering said students' info and the info of their parents. We have been able to easily identify students who have dipped in regular attendance, as well as established connections with parents we wouldn't have before. ### 6. Planning Center support time is one of the best of the world. They have a great help center, and their support team is knowledgeable, and replies much faster than you expect (even via email). **What do you dislike about Planning Center Check-Ins?** Absolutely nothing, I love Check-ins as much as you can love a piece of software… the only thing I dislike is that their marketing didn't reach us sooner. The faster we made the switch, the better. **What problems is Planning Center Check-Ins solving and how is that benefiting you?** Its fast! We have 7 services each weekend with an average attendance of about 200 kids each. Before check-ins we would give each child a numbered bracelet, another for the parent, and have them register (by hand!) on a paper form. Parents would need to wait for about 30 minutes before their kids could go inside. ### 7. I would also like for there to be a way to make some certian cells when filling out information for the first time to be required. It takes a lot of data that we pull from planning center registrations and compiled into a very easy to see and easy to use system that a volunteer can manage or honestly we could use with a tablet check in system for those checking in individually. **What do you dislike about Planning Center Check-Ins?** I wish there were ways to customize the check in system to where users could check in on their phone as they enter the building. This was going to enable us to have safety while monitoring numbers in our building. It is so helpful in our kids' ministry to have a roster of who is in service every week. It is so helpful to have all the parent's information for follow-ups! And we LOVE the barcode tags!! Parents love being able to check in their children themselves! It makes life SO easy and is worth any amount of money! Also, it's so easy to train new volunteers on how to use it and manage the system. It doesn't have to be ran by any one person, parents can even check in on their own and edit their info! **What do you dislike about Planning Center Check-Ins?** The ONLY thing I wish would be improved on PC Check-ins is the ability to check in guests and hold their information in the system. Right now, to my knowledge, you add a first time guest family, but it doesn't save their information for if the family comes back the following Sunday. **Recommendations to others considering Planning Center Check-Ins:** I would recommend everything Planning Center offers! It integrates with Planning Center registrations very well! They just type in their phone number and their family shows up. Then they select which people they are checking in and wait for the labels to print. Overall process takes less than a minute. **What do you dislike about Planning Center Check-Ins?** Setting it up is not as simple as it could be. But otherwise, there isn't much to dislike. **Recommendations to others considering Planning Center Check-Ins:** I would recommend this if you are looking for a more secure way to check in your children. This also allows parents to select if the child is allowed snacks, has a diaper bag, is potty trained, etc. ### 16. Easy to set-up, Easy to use, seamless system for child security, and the price is super good for all of the features. There are literally too many goodies to list. You can watch their feature and training videos on YouTube. You also can get a free trial if you don't know what will work for your organization. **What do you dislike about Planning Center Check-Ins?** The printer features and mobile vs. desktop features is a huge loss. Currently, only Dymo printer users have the option to print custom labels. If that is something you are considering, then you will want to look into Dymo. Also, the desktop app does not print wireless. You can only print wirelessly if you have the mobile app on a phone or tablet (keep in mind, the printer has to be wireless/wifi printer if you want to print wirelessly [just had to mention this in case someone tries to reference this]. If they fix these two features, then I see a perfect score (in my eyes). **Recommendations to others considering Planning Center Check-Ins:** If you are a church looking to keep track of attendance and other metrics, this is a must-have. If the child’s name is already in the system it’s just a matter of a swipe. If the person is new, adding a name is not that difficult. The ability to connect to label makers to create labels. By doing this we also get a better list of church members and attendees. **What do you dislike about Planning Center Check-Ins?** Working around the iPad app when administrative changes need to be made. If an event is not active but you want to make changes to the event, the app is not very easy to navigate to get in and make changes. Planning Center is not just “Check-ins”. It’s also “Services,” “Groups,” “Reservations” etc. So sometimes all these different services “get in the way” of focusing on one thing. Maybe PC could have a login for one but once you are logged in you can choose which one you are going to be working on. **Recommendations to others considering Planning Center Check-Ins:** The Planning Center platforms offers and affordable option is using check-ins at church even for the smallest of congregations or the largest of them. It works together with the Planning Center People and Planning Center Services. You don’t have to work on 3 separate platforms and inserting the same names over and over again. **What problems is Planning Center Check-Ins solving and how is that benefiting you?** We did not have a good system of keeping track of children who come to class during the weekend services. By using Planning Center “Check-ins” we are able to know exactly who is in class and also give an attendance report. The labels allow us to know the names of the children and know other information like emergency contact info and health issues. ### 21. It doesn't crash, and isn't susceptible to browser updated related crashing and communication between devices 2. It automizes complicated logistics so the efficiency of checking in students and prioritizing their safety and well-being can be accomplished at the same time **What do you dislike about Planning Center Check-Ins?** Check-Ins needs to have an option for custom alerts on individual students, and it's not an effective large scale (meaning across either locations or staffing) until that happens. Items to check with specific students - be it grade, development, or medical in nature - should be able to be input in the system at anytime so no matter where they check-in or who checks them in, the item can be addressed. **Recommendations to others considering Planning Center Check-Ins:** Absolutely use Check-Ins for your church children's spaces. There is a steep learning curve, but that's because it works and is largely able to be modified to meet the needs of individual churches rather then forcing you to conform to a system that is inefficient for your needs. **What problems is Planning Center Check-Ins solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are solving the problem of hosting a public event with childcare, and ensuring all safety and learning needs are met, including class sizes, allergy restrictions, fire code room limits, etc. Regularly attending families are able to complete check-in in under a minute per family, while new families can be completely input in only slightly more time. ### 25. Texting being the main reason we stay open to other options. **What problems is Planning Center Check-Ins solving and how is that benefiting you?** It really helps me keep track of students that are coming regularly as well as students that may have been missing and gives me the ability to follow up. ### 28. Our volunteers pick it up fast and the self-check-in is very intuitive for attendees. **What do you dislike about Planning Center Check-Ins?** I would like it to have more congruency between the desktop and tablets and printing. More printing options would for higher volume printing would also be good (with cutters) **Recommendations to others considering Planning Center Check-Ins:** One of the best systems to get up and running easily. Very inexpensive for what you get. For larger environments, it can leave some to be desired, but they are constantly updating. They could add features faster. **What problems is Planning Center Check-Ins solving and how is that benefiting you?** Provides great security and functionality for kids ministry on weekends and big events where nametags and attendance is required. ### 29.
