It helps improve project governance and decision-making by offering real-time visibility into project performance, while also supporting portfolio-level planning and reporting. I also appreciate its flexibility in managing complex projects and its ability to align strategic objectives with project execution. **What do you dislike about Planisware?** One of the challenges with Planisware is that it can have a steep learning curve for new users due to its extensive functionality and complex configuration options. Certain reporting and scheduling activities can also require multiple steps to complete, making some processes less intuitive than expected. Additionally, customizing views and reports sometimes requires specialized knowledge, which can reduce efficiency for occasional users. **What problems is Planisware solving and how is that benefiting you?** Planisware is solving several key project and portfolio management challenges by providing a single source of truth for project schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and reporting. It helps improve visibility across projects, enables more consistent planning and governance, and supports data-driven decision-making. From my perspective, the biggest benefit is having centralized and reliable project information that reduces manual tracking and reporting efforts. This makes it easier to monitor project performance, identify issues early, manage resources effectively, and provide stakeholders with timely and accurate updates. It also improves portfolio-level oversight, helping ensure projects remain aligned with organizational priorities and strategic objectives. ### 2. Visibility, Trans[parency, and Easy Status Updates with Planisware **Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2026 **What do you like best about Planisware?** The ability to view progress across different segments of the business, ease of access for PMs to update project status and progress, and export data for visualization in SharePoint. Onboarding and technical support is made easier by having designated Planisware technical experts assigned to our account. **What do you dislike about Planisware?** We are relatively early in our implementation, and the system tends to become unstable and we have to deal with unforeseen issues whenever we roll out new features or updates. Unexplained hang-ups and display inconsistencies require periodic resetting of system parameters. Online learning resources are often outdated, referencing features of previous versions. **What problems is Planisware solving and how is that benefiting you?** The main problem being solved is the need for transparency across many projects currently in planning or in progress. It used to take a lot of time and effort to track down information and report on project status when the data was siloed and kept in different systems, spreadsheets, etc. ### 3. It's also incredibly capable when it comes to holding a lot of complexity across different portfolio classes, allowing us to accommodate several different teams with varied reporting requirements. The support from the Planisware professional services team was fantastic during setup, helping us understand what was necessary now versus later and training our admins in basic functions. **What do you dislike about Planisware?** I find Planisware very unintuitive and challenging to administer from a technical perspective. For general users, if it's not a tool you're regularly using, it's also unintuitive to navigate. There have been some UI improvements in the latest version, but it takes some training to get used to. **What problems is Planisware solving and how is that benefiting you?** Planisware consolidates our R&D project portfolios, replacing outdated and error-prone spreadsheets. It simplifies access and updates, providing insightful portfolio metrics.
