The customer support is excellent, if at any time we have questions the support staff are available to assist. **What do you dislike about Planful?** For modelling, the templates can be a little time-consuming as they are web-based, entering and exiting the templates takes a bit of time. **What problems is Planful solving and how is that benefiting you?** The real estate market has gone from all-time highs(transaction totals) over covid to the slowest market since the early 1990's. As a beginner, understanding how to create dimensions, cross-check figures, and design report views is quite challenging at the beginning, espcially without sufficient straightforward guideance. **What problems is Planful solving and how is that benefiting you?** Planful has transformed how our team handles FP&A reporting. In the past, we spent hundreds of hours to manualy update reports in Excel spreedsheets, which often led to errors or messed updates. With Planful's automated reporting, we are not longer bogged down by those tedious tasks. And now we can focus on reviewing figures amd diving deeper into analysis, which addes more values to our work. ### 3. This does not work well when on a mobile device. With users across multiple time zones, people often get locked out after hours. I cannot uncheck the locked button from my phone which would alllow me to unlock someone in seconds. Now I have to log back in on a computer to do it. I wish there was a better way to do this. **What problems is Planful solving and how is that benefiting you?** By being able to easily integrate new acquisitions, it has helped us scale our business quickly with fewer resources. ### 4. I've heard feedback from some of our users that the little things are difficult to remember on some of the tools such as SpotlightXL. **What problems is Planful solving and how is that benefiting you?** Planful is solving the scalability problem we once had at our company. Our excel files were crashing, edits weren't syncing/saving and lots of time was wasted. It does a good job of bringing systems together to create a forecast (HRIS, database) as long as the data coming from these systems can sit in one place and can be easily tied into other dimensions from your GL. There is always new API add ins like the new one for PowerBI that allow you to diseminate information out of Planful **What do you dislike about Planful?** Its less versatile for (at least in structured planning) planning by vendor (or any dimension where you have a lot of individual lines). If you have very complicated revenue streams that require many pieces it can be difficult to build and maintain those within planful (structured planning). There is no great tool to get your pieces currently in excel or other into planful so setup time is mostly spent replicating instead of learning to features or improving your reports along the way. Planful has an option called Dynamic Planning that solves a decent amount of the above needs but creates additional complications as its a seperate set of models. **What problems is Planful solving and how is that benefiting you?** Planful has made it easier to gather information in one place and keep it up to date, especially the HRIS system data. Depending on which system you integrate with this can be a difficult process to get things up and running. The extra data gives us the option to say more yes to more complicated forecasting and reporting asks however it does come with the extra bit of knowing how to maintain the system and setting guidelines of what can and can't be done. Collaboration can be a bit tricky as multiple users cant be in the same structured planning templates at the same time but the commenting system is great once you have established rules on how you want to use them. ### 11. Once you learn the basic structure and logic report building is pretty straightforward, quick and easy. **What do you dislike about Planful?** We had consultants build out our budget model, which works as designed, but is more complicated than the basic reporting and budget templates that we helped build and maintain. I'll need to get more comfortable with that part although we have replaced our old Excel based budgeting with the new Planful model. **What problems is Planful solving and how is that benefiting you?** We replaced an older Infor CPM tool that we never could get all of our financial reporting into with Planful, which now is a single source for 100% of our monthly reporting. Additionally, some tools and functions are buried within the system, making them difficult to find. Having spent most of my career forecasting in Oracle HFM, I have found Planful to be a great (and better) alternative. They have really good customer support, and the implementation team we have worked with are super helpful. **What do you dislike about Planful?** We were originally forecasting via an Uploader in Excel. This felt fairly clunky as there were various places we had to touch to align everything before a write-back from P&L model to the forecast. When filtered or sorted in Workforce Planning clicking any sort of field and then returning will reset the filter/sort. Every process seems to have to be updated in several areas of Planful: for example you update your hierarchy and add a department to it, you press save and the hierarchy updates and publishes successfully. You would still have to go run another process to get the updated hierarchy to show in Workforce Planning. It's things like this, that can make Planful very frustrating.
