For instance, the campaigns graph shows all categories, whereas the dashboard is missing a few color indicators which can be misleading. **Recommendations to others considering Planful:** It's absolutely necessary to have real-time visibility to your numbers. Navigation is more straightforward compared to competitors, and the application is easy to teach. The reporting feature is robust and makes creating ad hoc reports efficient. Also, the ability to use reporting to deliver recurring reports is a great feature. **What do you dislike about Planful?** Although the reporting feature is powerful, the UX has some drawbacks. Formatting in reports is time-consuming and not as efficient as formatting in Excel. Additionally, there have been instances of formatting not pulling through when the report is exporting to Excel. The ability to add rows/columns is also not straightforward. It would be better if adding custom rows, columns, and formulas was directly on the toolbar instead of being in a dropdown menu. Finally, the ability to manage notifications would be great. We currently receive native notifications every time a job finishes, which can create excess notifications. Turning these off or adjusting preferences would be a good addition. **What problems is Planful solving and how is that benefiting you?** We've been able to reduce our monthly reporting process from 7-8 hours to ~1 hour. Additionally, the SpotlightXL plug-in for Excel has made creating complex reports simple and efficient. We have definitely been able to reduce reporting times while also increasing reporting accuracy. ### 12. I also like that it can link to Blackline, which helps your reconciliations be in the same place. **What do you dislike about Planful?** To get reports set up, it does take some practice to learn how to do it. You also want to make sure you can navigate if there is an out-of-balance and to verify you are pulling the correct information. **What problems is Planful solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problem I am solving is creating reports that would benefit my team. Additionally, my experience with Planful support and Planful Implementation consultants has been excellent, which is really important for a relatively new product for which there isnt a massive library of support information. **What do you dislike about Planful?** The Planful training suite is really inadequate. It covers all parts of the system, though it's delivery is simply informative without many real life examples, context etc. Thus when watching the video lessons, which are luckily short, you feel like you are simply just remembering things rather than learning or understanding it. **What problems is Planful solving and how is that benefiting you?** Improved Reporting and Consolidation, legacy ERP systems we use are inadequate in this regard, Planful offers much more comprehensive functionality that needs our complex needs. Still very new but on the surface it has a polished feel. The spotlight software is our biggest need and will match very well with our company. **What do you dislike about Planful?** Seems like the learning curve is huge for being independent. While everything can be learned there are several one offs that we cannot do when I would consider them logical options such as shortcuts. I am sure this will improve but the worse thing by far is the dashboards. It's like a excel, if you know work with pivot table, the "Report Area" is for you. **What problems is Planful solving and how is that benefiting you?** The substitution from the old plug-in to spotlight, it was the best thing that I see, the changes of layout throght those years became the navigation better in each new release. ### 35. This makes it user friendly and easy to navigate and understand, increasing the adoption in the business. At the same time you get the full leverage and scalability of a cloud solution and multidimensional database. Planful is very customer focused and their seasonal updates are largely influenced by customer feedback as well as industry innovation. User interface and capabilities have come a long way since our original implementation. **What do you dislike about Planful?** The flexibility of the tool means that it is also easy to build in complexity without the right guidance from either Planful or one of their partners. There are many capabilities and this can be overwhelming at times when trying to understand the best configuration, and balance, between Structured vs Dynamic Planning. **What problems is Planful solving and how is that benefiting you?** Planful has allowed us to modernize the core FP&A functions of strategic planning, forecasting, and target setting. We've been able to move to dynamic planning, multiple times per year, and away from a traditional once per year static budget that are quickly outdated in today's ever changing landscape. Using the platform we're able to streamline the tactical input and consolidation steps involved in planning while also pushing the culture towards thinking about planning more continuously. ### 36.
