## Placester Reviews
  ### 1. Lead generation phone number

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Placester?**

It's easy to design, you can get creative

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

Lead generation is terrible. They don't require phone numbers for clients signing up, so the only way to reach new signups is via email. No way to text or call. Nobody respond to email, clients respond to calls and texts and Placester fails to require a phone number. It's a complete waste of money in my opinion, and we won't be re-subscribing unless this feature if added asap.

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for lead generation, but new users aren't required to give a phone number. No way to reach out immediately to new signups.

  ### 2. No notice for automatic renewals.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Niki D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Placester?**

There really isn't much to like after the horrible customer service I received.

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

Their customer service is atrocious. They will charge you automatically and no discussion or refunds are allowed. They will not send you any notice that you will be charged, they just automatically do it quietly. When you call to question it, they explicitly state they have a no refunds policy. They sure hide that well. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They did not solve any problems. I actually received less traffic with their website versus other ones that I've used in the past.

  ### 3. Caveat Emptor - Changing prices and weak customer service with "ok" sites

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John S. | Associate Broker/REALTOR, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Placester?**

I was an inexpensive ($1 a month) sort of passive IDX page that was ok; now they suddenly charge $55 a month for the same "ok" website. I never authorized the change.

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

They have horrible support and they basically hope people will not notice their wild price increases

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Never really was a huge benefit, it was cheap and I used it for existing clients and past clients who wanted a fast MLS search without a sign in.

  ### 4. Not competitive with other companies and will try to walk off with your money

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chad P. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Placester?**

The price was competitive and slightly lower than other companies.

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

The salesperson seemed knowledgeable upfront, but in the end, they had not been listening to my needs. When we talked about the mapping feature that I need for my buyers to be able to use, I received three answers. That made it very confusing on what I would be getting. Within three days, I had my meeting with the website team. I had paid for a semi-custom site, but all they had done is put the wrong address in a template and claim they had worked on it. Placester completed no custom work completed. A buyer can not do the mapping to select where their desired neighborhood would be like competitors allow. Placester expected me to draw 89 maps for the potential buyers. This was not as discussed in our two meetings.

When I requested the cancelation, my salesperson told me I had to do it online. I canceled the order only to find they intended to keep all of the money.

After an exhausting chat (no, they would not answer the phone), they are still fighting to keep my money.

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They took my money and never provided a website.

**Official Response from Katarzyna Waniek-Halicka:**

> My apologies about your experience with Placester. It seems to me that there was a big misunderstanding here between the salesman - you - the person completing the task. As soon as we informed you that the option you wanted - the drawable polygon map search tool - was unavailable in Placester, we immediately suggested another solution. When we saw that we couldn't reach a common consensus, we immediately offered to return the setup money.

I have checked the system, and you have received a refund for the semi-custom build setup, which was not completed. You have purchased a monthly-advanced subscription, and the cost of the subscription is not refundable; this is written in our policy which can be found on our website.

Don't hesitate to contact me directly: kwaniek-halicka@placester.com if you are interested in another coop. We can offer you a new design for the website free of charge.

  ### 5. Horrible customer service

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua C. | Principal Broker/Owner Park Hill Realty Group, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Placester?**

The price is very affordable and is why I went with the service. They not only offer company websites but the ability for a company to offer agents their own websites and CRM.

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

They never answer the phone when you call

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They keep charging my card for charges not incurred. I recently reached out to your team to advise you that when a customer lead registered on my website you put them automatically into a pending recruit drip email campaign that I set up. This should have not been happening. Instead of fixing the issue and finding out why that happened you all deleted my pending recruit drip email campaign so when I went back in there to add new potential employees to it today it is gone. Every time I turn around there is a new problem now with the site not working correctly.

**Official Response from Seth Price:**

> Joshua, Please accept our sincerest apologies. My name is Seth Price, and I am the VP of Product here at Placester. It looks like we dropped the ball for you.

We've since made some major changes to our product and support process.

I'd love the opportunity to show you. If you're game, please call my cell 401-351-4663 or email me @ sprice@placester.com.

  ### 6. I would not recommend Placester for two main reasons.

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy B. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Placester?**

Placester is easy to use and if you just want something up and running quickly, it is a good option.

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

Their IDX do not pull in Sold properties. When I ask their support team why they blame it on the MLS. Which couldn't be further from the truth. The MLS that we work from has the capability to pull sold properties, Placester will not implement it. I manage a marketing company and we currently have six agents on the Placester platform. I will soon move all of them to another solution because of this.

There have been many times where I asked their support staff to help fix a technical error and they always request more money. I should not have to pay more if the reason I am asking for help is that there is something askew on the platform.

**Recommendations to others considering Placester:**

N/A

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My clients have websites.

**Official Response from Katarzyna Waniek-Halicka:**

> Hi Amy, My apologies about your experience with Placester. It seems like we weren’t completely clear in our communication with you, please accept my apologies. While we do not currently support sold property data from MLS feeds, this is something we plan to implement in the not too distant future. We are always working towards improving our product and your input does not go unnoticed. We are also reaching out to you directly via the contact information we have on file up to discuss in more detail.

  ### 7. Poor off-shore customer support

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Placester?**

Going in circles as customer support is not responsive. You will be directed to a call-center with no authority to resolve any issues

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

Unqualified customer support. No responsiveness to emails.

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Billing issues - overbilling

  ### 8. Not worth the cost

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Placester?**

I like the way the website looked and functioned

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

The cost was way too high with no leads coming in, I could see using this if I owned a brokerage just for general image of the company

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problems were solved , I wanted more leads and didn't get them

**Official Response from Katarzyna Waniek-Halicka:**

> My apologies about your experience with Placester. It's hard to believe that the site wasn't bringing in any leads. I want to look into your case, so I will be pleased if you send a link to your site to my email address: kwaniek-halicka@placester.com. Indeed, there is some way we can help you.

  ### 9. Bad Customer Service and Limited Features

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Placester?**

The price is cheap and the interface is not that bad.

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

Lack of customer service, inability to have agent's contact information, many errors,

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As soon as you launch your website, it's like they completely forget about you. There were a lot of errors on our site such as all our Sold Listings were under one agent name, our open houses were just a copy of ALL our listings, the contact forms couldn't be differentiated so you didn't know if your lead was interested in a property, or interested in becoming an agent, etc. You have to manually enter all the housing IDs for the open houses and sold listings to your creative assistant which is way too tedious. I've tried calling Placester, it always goes to voicemail. I've left a voicemail, and no one has called me back. Also, we are a brokerage so on all of our listings I wanted to list our agents' contact information so leads can directly contact the realtor for the property they're interested in. Placester does not have that feature... I do not recommend this platform to anyone.

**Official Response from Seth Price:**

> We’re sorry to hear of your less-than-satisfactory experience with Placester.

My name is Seth Price, and I am the VP of Product here at Placester. Please accept our sincerest apologies.

We've taken your feedback to heart and made some significant changes to our product and support process and it looks like we missed migrating you to our new platform. We introduced a host of tools to help admins have more control over the site and the sites of their agents. In addition, we've added a services marketplace to make it easier to get website marketing done .

I'd love the opportunity to win back your business. If you're game, please call my cell 401-351-4663 or email me @ sprice@placester.com.

  ### 10. Zero support and glitchy service

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom K. | Realtor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Placester?**

The website is cleanly looking and the interface is easy to use

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

Literally the worst customer support for any software/website of all time. I've contacted them about issues dating a year back, lots of lies from customer service and the "engineer team" doesn't exist, they will just keep lying until the say there is nothing we can do....despicable

**Recommendations to others considering Placester:**

It's cheap for a reason

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They create problems dont slove it

**Official Response from Seth Price:**

> Tom, I understand your disappointment with Placester and agree that this was completely acceptable.

My name is Seth Price and I'm the VP of Product here at Placester. I wanted to let you know that your feedback has been instrumental in the process of rebuilding our Codeless website builder and retooling the support process.

I'd love the opportunity chat 1-1. If you're game, please call my cell 401-351-4663 or email me @ sprice@placester.com.

  ### 11. Needs a lot of help!

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2020

**What do you like best about Placester?**

My broker pays for it otherwise there is no way I would pay for it.

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

This is a Real Estate platform. They do not have a map/polygon search for the client or agent - yikes! When you do a Zillow/Redfin/Trulia search - you get the listings right beside a map. People want to look at pictures and a map of where listings sit.

**Recommendations to others considering Placester:**

See notes

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

See above

  ### 12. No technical knowledge at all!

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Placester?**

I didn't and don't like anything the best. The best part was me laughing when they kept calling me by the wrong name.

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

Pretty much everything. They couldn't answer the easiest technical questions possible. They can't connect you to their "engineers" and they said that a supervisor would call me back as they weren't available and that hasn't happened.

**Recommendations to others considering Placester:**

I would not go this way as they control you and your website. If you ever want to leave they will not allow you to and will hold your site hostage.

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have not solved anything with them, because, at this point in time they cannot get anything to work and don't seem to care to help me.

  ### 13. Slow customer service and technology that is grossly out of date

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard E. | Group Chief Executive Officer, Venture Capital & Private Equity, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2018

**What do you like best about Placester?**

Nothing. Literally nothing. The customer service is bad, the product is bad, the ability to integrate is bad.

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

See above, again, this is technology that does not step up and deliver what the audience needs. The only reason it gets any positive reviews is because you have technology illiterate Realtors who don't know any better.

**Recommendations to others considering Placester:**

Make sure you fully benchmark the solution against other providers in the marketplace before starting down the path to regret it later.

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. You want to be able to feature listings in your local market, and when a prospect clicks "view more", this backward system shows properties from all over the country. How is that relevant to someone in New Jersey looking for property IN New Jersey.

  ### 14. Realtors with real vision stay away from Placester

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2018

**What do you like best about Placester?**

That site is visually pleasing but other than that, I would not recommend.

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

It has been difficult to contact customer service. The backend of this website is very limited and unlike most website providers there is no trial period to see if this actually the tool for your business. It’s an all or nothing type of deal. I am still within the first 30 dats of my contract and figured out I couldn’t add plugins (On the backend) specifically to help me rank on google. I called to see what my options were for cancellation and after speaking with 3 reps, I finally got through to my personal rep. He explained I would have to pay 3 months of payment to cancel my subscription I’ve had for less than 30 days. We both agreed that this site did not have the capabilities I was looking for, why am I still paying your company for 3 months?

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cannot add plugins on the backend. Cannot customize your website.

  ### 15. Services do not work as promised. They only thing they get right is charging your CC every month

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andres G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2018

**What do you like best about Placester?**

Visually appealing but aside from that....

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

The e-mail updates to clients do not work. They never worked on my account. I specifically asked about that feature when I signed up. It's now been 3 months. They refuse to cancel my service and refund me, and they can't get the service to work! What good is a R.E. website that dosen't have a functioning capability to send client updates.
I'm now at the point of putting in a dispute with my CC and filing a complaint with my state division of consumer affairs. I'm guessing I'm going to have to change my CC# as well to stop them from charging me for a service they don't provide. They are very quick to point out there is a one year "contract" without acknowledging they would be in breach of the contract since their service doesn't work.

**Recommendations to others considering Placester:**

Avoid, avoid, avoid! The service doesn't work. Getting someone on the phone is tough, and getting your problems resolved is impossible.

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None, they have only caused me problems.

  ### 16. Absolutely horrible interface that's freqently broken

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura B. | Licensed Realtor, Real Estate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2017

**What do you like best about Placester?**

Placester used to be a decent option for the price, but back-end quality and support have deteriorated so much it's not worth using even if you get it for free.

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

Whoever designed their software must have quit a while back and Placester decided not to replace them. Each time I visit things that used to work don't anymore. I figured out work-arounds but sacrificed design. Today their software wouldn't even save new content. I tried using PDFs, JPEG, PNG, Word and PPT to n avail. Finally punted and clicked the "support" link only to have the screen gray out. Guess their support desk quit too.

**Recommendations to others considering Placester:**

Don't do it.

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Placester is CAUSING business problems. Have to shut down my internet ads until I have a working website I can send them too.

  ### 17. Don't Listen When You Tell Them You Have Cancelled

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2017

**What do you like best about Placester?**

Nothing. They don't listen to customers and keep charging their credit cards when they have been told to STOP! When companies don't listen to customers, they get bad reviews.

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

They have been told to STOP charging my credit card, but they have continued doing it for months now. I have to dispute charges with my bank. It has become annoying and is bordering on fraudulent.

**Recommendations to others considering Placester:**

Don't give them your credit card information if you don't want to be charged over and over again after you tell them in writing to STOP. I am answering below with "expensive" because they are charging me for services I have not had access to for months. They need to stop taking advantage of agents through their relationship with KW. When the agent's site goes dark with Placester when the agent leaves, they need to STOP charging the agent for services the agent can only obtain through the relationship between Placester and KW.

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I had them through Keller Williams. When I left KW, I told Placester that I had left and to stop charging me, but they continue to charge my card every month.

  ### 18. Poor SEO, Poor customer service, Poor techincal support, Poor site overall.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alyssa M. | Sales/Rental Agent, Real Estate, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2017

**What do you like best about Placester?**

It's esthetically pleasing. There's really nothing else.

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

Poor SEO, Poor customer service, Poor techincal support, Poor site overall. I've had in issue with my site for several months, put in several support tickets with no help, no soultions and only excuses and vague cookie cutter responses.

**Recommendations to others considering Placester:**

I would recommend using a different platform. This platform is included in a REMAX package so it's free - That's about what it's worth.

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have a real estate website

  ### 19. Waste of time

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** RO and M. | Real Estate Agent, Real Estate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2017

**What do you like best about Placester?**

price, but you always get what you pay for

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

The CRM is not what they advertise it to be. Ever since I signed up for Placester, my auto responders and drip campaigns were not working. How can you run a business without these two very important components, especially if you are running ads. Stay away from placester and give your money somewhere else like real geeks!

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Agents/brokers do your research

  ### 20. could be a great product but the technical support is non responsive when there is a problem

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2016

**What do you like best about Placester?**

Dont know yet...have not been able to make it functional for me yet...I've been have MAJOR issues with the Placester Support department. They area having a "technical issue" going on for almost 2 weeks not upgrading my account to genius level so it can be professionally modified....their support department, while very polite, have been completely ineffective in getting any movement on getting the issue resolved. Meanwhile I have a couple of thousand dollars invested with a support company waited to do the modifications......

**What do you dislike about Placester?**

Polite...but ineffective support department

**What problems is Placester solving and how is that benefiting you?**

none yet
