Easy to navigate and use free photo editor. Clear and effective interface. Perfect for basic photo edits such as cropping, resizing and sharpening, plus increasing contrast, brightness or colour. If it is only basic edits such as cropping, resizing and sharpening, then it is perfect for you. If however, you require more demanding edits then Pixl Editor or Adobe Photoshop would be a better choice. Pixlr Express has a lot of features for a free program. I use it in Chrome, but it is available for other devices. Though some features are locked, there are plenty of features to use in the free version. It is easy to get started. You can create an account or sign in with Google. You can start new and choose from suggested formats such as Photo, Social, Web, Print, or Video. Or you can start by adding your own image. You can also add items as separate layers, including images, frames, text, and shapes. Once you add an image, there are many ways to enhance or edit it. Some of my favorites are: Resize: You can resize the page easily and constrain proportions if needed. Add text: you can type your own or use ready-made sticker-like messages. These can be animated using the animation tool. Cutout: You choose a layer by clicking it and then can remove parts of the background using one of the cutout tools, including - shape, magic, draw, or lasso. This tool is advanced for a free web-based tool. You also have the option to invert the cutout. The AI cutout feature is for premium users, but you can do plenty with the free options. You can add media like shapes and pictures, but some are only available in the premium version. The cropping and rotate features are easy to use. The effect features allow you to change your picture to black and white, sepia, etc. You select the layer you want to change and apply the effect. The retouch tool makes it easy to get rid if blemishes in the picture. You can also clone part of a picture and stamp it somewhere else. For example, you can clone an eye and stamp it somewhere else. Retouch also allows you to blur parts of an image. This feature might be helpful if you need to blur out a name or face. The draw tool allows you to draw freehand with a brush or pen or add shapes. You can save it as an image or document with a choice of quality levels and file types. The app shows the file size for the format you choose. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. I love that it has just enough features for quick and easy image editing; well done. There are just enough features for most common editing needs. It is not a good choice if you need to edit an image that you require to be a large size beyond Pixlr image size limits.
