"Better Than Photoshop"

What do you like best about Pixelmator?

It does everything Photoshop does but it is a lot cheaper (both versions: pixelmator and pixelmator pro). I think I paid $11 for the standard, and if you want to upgrade, you can buy the pro version for $39.99. Both versions read photoshop files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pixelmator?

"Quick and portable image editing with Pixelmator !!"

What do you like best about Pixelmator?

I really like Pixelmator because it is a fast and powerful image editing program exclusively for Mac and one of the strongest alternatives to Photoshop. It is very easy to use and complete, its operation is very simple and its reduced price makes it very attractive if we are thinking about buying a very professional photo retouching program. What do you dislike about Pixelmator?

I really like this program, the only thing that I do not like is that I can not use it in Windows because it is exclusive to Mac. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I recommend it to everyone, you should only know that it is exclusive to Mac.

What problems is Pixelmator solving and how is that benefiting you?

I have obtained great benefits with Pixelmator because it has allowed me to work with different layers and has an important range of filters and effects. I have been able to correct the color, adjusting the levels of brightness and contrast, I have been able to blur edges, eliminate wrinkles or scratches, etc. It's a very fast program that allows me to have my jobs faster and that generates more profits! "It's Not Photoshop"

What do you like best about Pixelmator?

Pixelmator is cheap. At $29.99, it's practically a steal. It'll handle almost all of your image editing needs. It's easy on the eyes, and well designed visually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pixelmator?

Although well-designed visually, it's not very user-friendly. Having grown up using Photoshop, but not having used Photoshop for over a decade, I've used Pixelmator since it was first released and I still can't get used to certain things. Cropping an image is difficult, switching brushes and brush sizes is harder than it should be, and all the various tools are strewn about the screen, with no real organization to speak of.

I also wish I could use Pixelmator to quickly annotate images so that I didn't need a separate app for that. (Preview doesn't cut it.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Pixelmator:

I recommend using Photoshop if you can afford it. I haven't tried Pixelmator Pro, which may be a better product. I do plan to try that app soon. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Pixelmator solving and how is that benefiting you?

Any time I need to make a quick image for work, Pixelmator is there. I use it often when making mockup images. Graphic design is not in my job description, but I still need to make the occasional graphic here and there for mockups and internal websites.
