"Advanced Photo Editing at a Fraction of the Cost"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Pixelmator?

Pixelmator is a very low-cost alternative to more advanced photo editing software. The interface and tools are familiar and most, if not all, essential photo editing functions are included. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pixelmator?

More of a commentary on photo editors in general: many advanced features are beyond the ken of the average user like me. Here's an opportunity for Pixelmator to truly be a "photo editor for the rest of us", i.e. present the advanced features like layer blends in a way meaningful to newbies. "Great For Novice Photo Editors"
4/5
What do you like best about Pixelmator?

Its price is great for what it can do. When comparing it to tools like Photoshop, for most people is plenty of power for a very affordable price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pixelmator?

Not much to dislike. It is the best first point of entry into custom photo editing outside of something with great limitations like Canva. At some point, in your progression as an editor, you will find certain limitations or might desire an interface that is a little bit more Mac-native/advanced. That is when you might consider checking out Pixelmator Pro. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Pixelmator is the BEST Photoshop Replacement!"
5/5
What do you like best about Pixelmator?

Pixelmator is quick to learn and easy to use. It uses many of the same symbols and features as Photoshop, but without the huge price tag. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pixelmator?

Pixelmator isn't as sleek as Photoshop, and can't do quite everything Photoshop can, but it does all of the things I need, so I am very pleased with it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Image editor for quick modifications"
4/5
What do you like best about Pixelmator?

Pixelmator has three advantages over Photoshop.

1. It's much more affordable;

2. It has a more straightforward interface, with few menus and tools;

3. Common modifications have direct or more apparent namings.

Apart from the price, Pixelmator is more straightforward, and most of the changes you want to do on an image have more intuitive steps to produce. Both intermediate or advanced users can use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pixelmator?

Because it's a more straightforward tool, it lacks more complex tasks, and fine-tuning tools might require a similar learning curve like Photoshop. It's ideal for intermediate users with specific changes and effects to apply or for cropping and converting images. For a more advanced user, if the price is not an issue, I would stick with Photoshop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful, Simple, and Feature Full"
5/5
What do you like best about Pixelmator?

I’m a big fan of the way objects work in Pixelmator. Also, many of the controls feel more natural and a far better fit for my use case than Photoshop. I use Pixelmator Pro, and ML Superresolution is a future I use almost weekly to improve stock imagery for large-scale prints. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pixelmator?

If I could ask for one feature from the Pixelmator team it would be a vector workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Pixelmator is awesome for photo editing!"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Pixelmator?

The user-friendliness is really outstanding. The controls and icons are sharp and laid out neatly by default. We can customize our workspace to suit our needs. We can clear panels we don't need and just focus on the tools we need. There are hotkey options to let us get through design projects faster. The presets are excellent and there are many to choose from. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pixelmator?

I have had an overall positive experience with Pixelmator from top to bottom. It may not allow for detailed editing the way that Photoshop or Lightroom allow for, but it mostly works the way I want and does allow for more advanced adjustments than typical photo apps.
