Lately, I’ve really liked how PitchBook’s advanced filters make it easy to narrow down deals and investor activity by sector, size, or region. The visual dashboards are also super helpful for spotting patterns quickly. Plus, the Excel plug-in has made data handling way smoother and faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lately, I’ve felt that PitchBook could be better with real-time updates—some info feels a bit delayed, especially in fast-moving spaces. The platform’s also packed with features, but the layout can get a little overwhelming at times. The M&A transaction data provided by PitchBook is beyond compare to that which is truly needed by our corporate development team. We have been able to follow individual asset sales and also see the reasons behind complicated carve outs, which aids in us forming better comps. The subsequent search filters also allow us to identify niche technology companies much focused on our strategic diversification criteria very quickly saving us several days of manual market mapping. There are times where the fine-grained financial measurements of the private held target, and particularly those below a certain revenue level, are less solid than we would desire and we should look elsewhere to obtain additional information. In addition, the alert system may provide even more customized choices of highly specific types of related M&A events than just broad based deals announcements.
