What do you like best about Pilot?

Pilot is a bit more expensive than a single cheap accountant or do-it-yourself books but they are incredibly competant, comprehensive, and I wouldn't trust another service nearly as much. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Pilot solving and how is that benefiting you?

Pilot has been handling our day-to-day bookkeeping, yearly taxes, and submissions for our R&D tax credit. Pilot provides books that are well formatted and easy to understand, and they provide easy access to make updates or submit questions. What do you like best about Pilot?

I like best that we have a dedicated team, but we also have access to other experts and could expand our service with them if we needed to (e.g. getting a fractional CFO or having Pilot do our taxes). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

When we were looking for someone to manage our books, we weren't sure exactly what we needed, but we knew we didn't have the internal capacity or expertise to handle it ourselves. We researched a few fractional or service-based providers, and Pilot stood out as the best fit for our team. What do you like best about Pilot?

Consistency of service, efficient and automated workflow with minimal humans in the loop. Accuracy and built in governance. And not having to deal with service provider turnover. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Pilot solving and how is that benefiting you?

I have a fast growing frontier tech startup and am a former CPA so I know how essential it is to have our financials and accounting done reliably, accurate and as efficient as possible. It frees me up to work on more valuable tasks. Having hired numerous bookeeping firms and part-time controllers there is always an issue around consistency of service - usually you end up with turnover at the provider and having to get them up to speed again or your controller leaving or going on vacation during peak periods. What do you like best about Pilot?

First and foremost, the integration with tools we were already using. Pilot plugs right into our Quickbooks and basically manages everything from there. They have also been very proactive in flagging/escalating any issues that needed to be addressed, some of which were actually fairly important and we hadn't noticed. What do you dislike about Pilot?

The only issue we've really had is that one of our providers requires and individual's SSN for accountant access which Pilot doesn't support. This is very minor, we just upload the statement once a month, when Pilot sends the alert that it's time to upload it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Pilot:

We've had a great experience so far, and also felt based on our research of other solutions that Pilot was the only option that could both support us now when we're small but growing, and still supported several years in the future, when hopefully our needs are more complex. As our small business scaled, the complexity of our books started to consume too much of leadership's time. We decided to outsource this function, and Pilot integrated with our existing systems seamlessly, and has dramatically reduced the amount of time we spend on this function.
