Although PICS.IO allows customization of metadata, I found the options somewhat limited. AI keywording is not very comfortable because it adds rather generic descriptive words. I did a lot of research when choosing a DAM and many were either low on features or priced well outside our budget. PICs.IO was the perfect balance of functionality and price. It gives us as a mid sized business with a small team all we need and its the second company I have used this in. Being able to use your own storage also allows you to keep the costs down and use PICS as the front end to arrange, tag and share. Sometimes the tagging/structure interface isn't super intuititive.

How easy it is to categorise and access your files! They're easily seen and not exclusively accessed by name or ticking other boxes just to see the thumbnail. Searching for content is also fantastic when the tagging system is used properly. The AI tagging could definitely do with a bit of work! Simply because, while it tags the good bits, it also tags less significant parts like 'arm' on a picture of a person. I won't be searching that any time soon! Also, the ability to unpublish a website and not have it turn into a nested collection would be brilliant and save us plenty of time and filing.
