## About PhpStorm
PhpStorm is a PHP integrated development environment (IDE) developed by JetBrains that provides tools for writing, analyzing, testing, and debugging PHP applications. It is designed for professional PHP developers, full-stack web developers, and software teams building server-side and web-based applications. Common use cases include developing PHP web applications, maintaining legacy systems, working with modern JavaScript frameworks, integrating databases, and managing large or multi-module codebases. PhpStorm supports the PHP development lifecycle within a single environment. It includes context-aware coding assistance, project navigation tools, refactoring capabilities, debugging functionality, and integrations with version control systems and testing frameworks. The IDE runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, providing a consistent development environment across platforms. Key features and capabilities include: • Intelligent code assistance with context-aware completion, syntax highlighting, inspections, quick documentation, and automated refactorings for PHP and related web technologies • Built-in support for PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, and Zend Framework, along with support for HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and templating languages including Twig and Blade • Navigation and project analysis tools that enable search across files, classes, symbols, and usages, supporting work in large or complex codebases • Integrated debugging and testing tools, including breakpoint management, PHPUnit support, and version control integration such as Git • Database and deployment tools, including SQL support, remote interpreters, Docker and Vagrant integration, and built-in terminal access PhpStorm enables developers to manage backend and frontend workflows within a single IDE. ## PhpStorm Reviews
  ### 1. Best PHP editor exists

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gernald F. | Co-Founder & CTO, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Code Refactoring - helps doing changes to the code, by understanding code scopes and alerting you when doing changes that might affect other parts
Syntax Highlighting - helps to view different parts of code (classes, functions, constants) by coloring it differently in a unique mode
Dark Mode - works perfectly and makes the view much more clear
Debugger - debugging within the IDE makes life much easier (remote debugging option) by connecting directly to MAMP's apache.
Version control integration - the integration of Jetbrains products with version control systems like git is making life so much easier for developers, because it makes the code pushing process much fluent and integrated in the entire development process.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Background Tasks Performance - some background tasks like checking code changes make the program to stuck, which hurts the experience
Change of file extension - sometimes gets stuck or takes too long to do because the IDE checks for usages of that piece of code
Code changes take time - sometimes when there is a piece of code that's used in many places, making changes to the file name of that piece of code takes lot of time, like 30 seconds, which can be frustrating

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

PhpStorm is the best IDE for PHP development, no hesitation. Integrates with all required tools (git, debugger, etc). Highly recommended.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Development of server backend
Development of CLI
Maintenance of legacy code

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gianluca G. | Web developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

The best user interface on a IDE and the best way to indexing your projects.
Friendly way to project, develop and deploy your projects, on every server type.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Too many options, and too hard how to resolve the way to change a behaviour of IDE (I have always searched on Stackoverflow or JetBrains community).

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A better way to develop and deploy my projects on a modern and friendly interface.

  ### 4. PHPStorm is always my first choice for PHP development.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David l. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

What I find to be the best features of PHPStorm include SSH access, FTP/SFTP access, and code autocomplete suggestions, syntax coloring, and a supportive community behind it that creates plugins. PHPStorm is extremely customizable.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

I don't like the GIT/version control system that PHPStorm has. If you're not careful, it could become quite messy. Other than that, I don't have much else to complain about.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

PHPStorm generally has a graphical user interface with many features. The auto-complete functions combined with ease of use really allow you to develop quickly and focus on the code instead of trying to make the program work.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With PHPStorm, I can see all the folders and files in a sidebar and manage our framework and website very easily, now I can develop faster.

  ### 5. PHPStorm is amazing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose M. | Desarrollador de software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I like the fact that PHP Storm highlights parts of your code and provides shortcuts to change the code to improve it. It is very easy to use and has autocomplete features that allow us to write code in an efficient and refactored way so that the whole team can understand it.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Debugging modes are difficult and complicated to use. It doesn't have very good support for a widely used PHP framework like Laravel. The license is paid annually, I would prefer to pay just once.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

You can take your time during the test to learn about the features and everything it offers and see for yourself how great it is.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A large part of our backend is made in PHP and I needed a good IDE. PHPStorm has been a very good experience and has helped to complete PHP-related projects more quickly and effectively.

  ### 6. If you work with PHP in a developer capacity you need this

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PHPStorm collects all of the tools I would use for my job into one application. Everything from terminal windows built in to the ability to run different code linters. The interface is easy to understand and you can get working pretty quickly after getting into the software. I particularly like being able to just click and run vagrat, npm, and gulp tasks right from a toolbar without having to enter a single command.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

With all of those features baked into the app, the thing is heavy. If you have multiple instances running at once it will definitely start to affect the performance of your machine. The built-in version control is nice, but stuck somewhere between useful and not quite useful enough.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

It is expensive, but the amount of time it will save your developers is definitely worth it. This is especially true for full-stack developers as this offers a wide-range of very needed tools.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All of our development team is using PHPStorm after years of using other IDE's. It has saved us a lot of time over the years as we have further taken advantage of the features it offers. We are able to better integrate with tools because we can run commands through the GUI. We definitely are developing faster thanks to it and the code sniffing is great. Many bugs are found long before executing the code so that we can avoid the little mistakes that can plague a project.

  ### 7. Must-have for PHP developer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kamil W. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Very easy to use, intuitive interface, it's super fast having in mind how powerful it is.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Sometimes files indexing is waaay to long or freezes. I also experiencing some connectivity issues for MySQL driver and restart helps here.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using PhpStorm almost daily. It helps me to write code, refactor, and delivery solutions we're working on.

  ### 8. Awesome IDE

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bob S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

The user interface is very beautiful. There is a free version so you only need to pay for professional support if you need. You can use it on linux, Mac, Windows, and export-import the settings in one second. If you can't find the language support or feature you need, there are lots of downloadable plugins, or you can make a request to the developers via their issue tracker

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Sometimes it gets a bit slow but it isn't really imortant. There's nothing I disliked about the program so far

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

It is a worth buying. You should use the free veersion and if you like you can buy the program.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used it to work with php files

  ### 9. Best PHP IDE on the market

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William S. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I think that PhpStorm is the most complete IDE on the market in terms of all the features it comes with. There are also a lot of plugins to choose from to improve and customize your experience.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

It definitely eats a lot of memory and CPU, makes the computer heat up a bit.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me code, build and manage all my PHP projects with ease. It enables me to be way more efficient while coding.

  ### 10. Best IDE for web development

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amit P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PhpStorm has two types of autocompletion : structural completion and word expansion .
Structural completion makes prediction based on its understanding of PHP , while the latter tries to predict the word currently typed based on previously typed word . Word expansion also works in comments and docstrings . Both types of autocompletion works extremly well and quite fast when loading the suggestions . It is also good for SQL inspection and autocompletion of tables and fields . Also has support for Xdebug including remote debugging .

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

It is not a free software . A very slow indexing , large projects after some time will be very slow . And also interface is sometimes slow and buggy .

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

PhpStorm is developed continually , which gives confidence that it will be available for some time and it is not abandonware .

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us to save building and integrating libraries for testing RESTful web services .It also enables testpoint without leaving testspace and without disrupting the workflow .

  ### 11. The best software at low cost

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fernando C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

The best thing about PHPStorm is the ease with which you can build applications. The company behind it, Jetbrains, is very good with multiple solutions for all types of languages. It has an option to install plugins that gives developers enormous ease to design their own apps. Support Composer, embedded terminal, Git, Plugin with Symfony...

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

The IDE performs terribly when your project is too large and you handle a lot of dependencies with composer. Sometimes it affects so much that it becomes unbearable to work, but it happens very rarely. The same occurs when you work with an environment in docker or vagrant, when it has to index a large amount of data... It becomes a bit unbearable to work. When you switch branches with GIT and there are many changes, it also becomes a bit unbearable.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Nowadays, the market for web apps is on the rise, PHPStorm provides many features to make the work very pleasant. It supports multiple languages and through plugins, integration with many frameworks. It runs super fast, they constantly update the IDE, the embedded terminal is wonderful as you don't get dizzy switching from window to window.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My work team synchronizes correctly because it supports Git. It's great not having consistency issues in the code, we are always up to date. Also, updates are released from time to time, it's super easy to update and it has never caused me any problems. The ease with which plugins are installed means you don't need to be a designer to create screens in applications.

  ### 12. The PHP IDE for Wordpress Developmement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Ease of use. Integration with SourceTree. As of version 8.0, PhpStorm brought in more WordPress integration which makes using PhpStorm for WordPress plugin, theme, and site development simpler. PhpStorm recognizes a WordPress related project and will ask you to point it in the direction of your installation path. It will also check to see if you want to add the installation to the PHP Include paths.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

I wish there was better code helping tools.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

PhpStorm is as full featured as you can get. There is a slight learning curve and it's pricey but it's worth it.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a complete development environment for multiple developers on multiple production and staging environments.

  ### 13. Best IDE for programming in PHP

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rodrigo R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PHPStorm is very well organized. It offers code inspection, which helps you identify problems right from the start, such as missing a comma, semicolon, spelling mistakes, empty statements and even logical errors. Offers code completion to help you finish faster.

It has a very nice user interface, which allows you to easily navigate and find what you are looking for. The setup menu is well designed and it is easy to find the configuration you are looking for. Setting up an FTP, SFTP or FTPS server is quick and easy, so it connects to a database. It also offers completed SQL, if you have it connected to your SQL database, and it also checks your SQL queries for errors.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

When searching for uses of a function or method, there is no option to filter out the uses found by the arguments used in the calls (I often look for uses of a certain optional argument that I need to change or remove from the function statement), so to find them I have to click on each use, even if there are dozens of them in addition to the fact that I have noticed that it uses enough ram memory and can slow down other processes.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

PhpStorm is the best IDE for PHP development, without hesitation. It integrates with all the necessary tools (git, debugger, etc). Highly recommended.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PHPStorm has been a very good experience and has helped to complete PHP related projects faster and more effectively, thus minimizing costs.

  ### 14. PHPStorm, the best IDE for PHP and more...

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonio G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

The most remarkable thing about this IDE from my point of view is the capacity for simplification, search, organization and presentation that it has. You can configure almost everything to your liking and thus facilitate the tasks at the time of working therefore saving a lot of time at the end of the working day.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Well today the only "stick" I can highlight is its price, but taking into account the quality of the software that is purchased, it is not expensive at all.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

At the least you deserve to try it, and I'm sure you will not be disappointed at all.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the field of software development, it makes programming more comfortable and greatly helps the developer by giving him plenty of shortcuts and automatic actions of the most common things in programming. The clearest benefit is the reduction of time in the most common and habitual tasks.

  ### 15. Best IDE for PHP on the market

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

It has a large repository of plugins that cover almost everything needed for web development in general, not just PHP. It also has very good support for Javascript. Regarding search capability, it is quite decent. Integrated options for client-side debugging. It has integration with git and JIRA (with plugins), and can help switch between JIRA issues/tasks, git branches, and time tracking.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Sometimes it uses a good amount of RAM. I'm not sure why, but some projects also cause the CPU to become saturated. If you have a powerful enough PC, this shouldn't be a problem. I have run several instances with 4 GB of RAM and there is no problem. Get the 64-bit version that has more memory.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

It is a stable IDE that has all the current features of an IDE, making it a very competitive program.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this IDE to develop projects for clients. One of the most important things was the ability to export/import the IDE configuration, so all team members would have exactly the same setup, making it easy to work as a team with the same codebase.

  ### 16. Good All-round IDE for Php Developers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I have found that the code completion and automatic indentation helps me format and present good code. Its handy that it has a dark mode which really helps while coding. The colour scheme really is useful with code highlighting.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

I have found while working with php storm that when you create a new project you have to remember to select automatic upload when dealing with remote projects.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Start with one project get a feel for the tools and features

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building web applications and linking these with apps. PhpStorm sits well in a suite of applications. It is also very similar to the IED for Android based on the same base applications which makes switching to Android development very simple.

  ### 17. PHPStorm best IDE for PHP

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos G. | Desarrollador de software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

It's easy to set up and I think it has the best debugger, it's very powerful, tons of customization options that can be specified globally or at the project level, it has integration with git, it has the autocomplete and autosave function, for me one of the best development IDEs for Backend.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

I have no complaints at the moment with PHPStorm, it has served me perfectly in all the use cases I have needed to develop my applications. The only drawback is the price and that it must be paid every year, I would prefer to pay just once.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

PHPStorm is going to fully expand your workflow, make progress fun and enjoyable!

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is one of the best IDEs for any software developer working with the PHP language. It mostly checks all the feature boxes for a productive development tool.

  ### 18. PHP Storm is a vital tool for serious PHP programmers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PHP Storm provides in-depth analysis and indexing of your code. In many ways, it knows your code better than you do. You can also customize the types of inspections that run against the code that you write, and share that customization with other members of your team in order to ensure consistency from all developers. In addition, it also includes integrations with other tools you already use in your stack, like version control, continuous integration, and unit testing. This is incredibly important to me because it means switching out of the application less, and I can focus on getting work done. Navigating your code is also extremely easy. Instead of having to search for a class or method definition, you can click directly through and find the information you're looking for. You even have the ability to get argument definitions provided to you when you use a class or method.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Configuration of the software can sometimes be tedious and tricky. But I would argue that this is combated by thorough documentation. Good things don't always come easy or fast. Another issue related to configuration would be customization. But this is also handled quite deftly with the extremely diverse amount of plugins available to developers either through Jetbrains or from the community itself.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Make use of the EAP if you're unsure about making the switch. It's free, gives you access to bleeding-edge features, and gives you the opportunity to take the software for a spin. And if you're a student, you can get access to the suite of Jetbrains products completely free while you attend school.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PHP Storm has allowed my group to develop enterprise level solutions quickly, effectively, and with confidence. Anything from providing realtime sports data to students during varsity games, to managing SLA-level services within an IT organization and enabling managers to keep track of the services they are responsible for.

  ### 19. Come for the code formatting - stay for the debugging!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott C W. | Founder, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I'm old school. I often edit software in vi. But PhpStorm has saved my bacon so many times, I can't even count. As soon as there's an issue I can't see, I fire up the code editor, and it points me directly to the problem (variable misspelled, not globalled, or whatever).

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

It's a bit heavyweight to use an IDE vs a code editor, which is why many people avoid it, but really, it will save you time in the long run.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Tracking down issues (even issues that don't show up in testing).
- Formatting code.
- Code inspection.

  ### 20. One of the best IDS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paco G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Finding errors is key for any software, and the ability to use a PHP debugger is an essential requirement, especially for someone new to PHP, exactly what PhpStorm offers in a simple way. It has git integration and many additional packages. It supports Symfony2 (including Twig and Doctrine), Yii, and Laravel.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

There are so many customization options that it might be complicated to customize the editor. It seems somewhat slower than other similar products. It is not very lightweight, has a slow learning curve, and is not very easy to use; it may require complex or tedious customization. Indexing is slow, there are many memory leaks, and large projects will become very slow over time; opening large files, like 10 MB, can even crash the IDE.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Take your time to get used to it before using it for a real project.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Everything is integrated, terminal, GIT, FTP. There is no need to pay for any other software to cover those needs.

  ### 21. had wonderful experience woth the tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saurabh M. | Mr., Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

It is very nice tool and development environment for coders . It can be easily understood by any new user. Its features and user experience is self explantory.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Its ui and color scheme does not give the user a fresh feel as the theme used is very basic. There should be option for changing theme from a variety of themes.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using the tool for development in my organisation and it has solved many problems. It has made my mind freenfrom all kinds of hassle as coding with the tool has become a very easy task

  ### 22. Amazing for PHP

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Heena M. | Intermediate Software Developer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Everything about PHP storm is best, be it plugins, lightness of a product etc

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

More file type such as typescript etc if they involve it will be the best

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I completely recommend it to others for PHP

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes work easy, I use my company's license for every work which I do here

  ### 23. Very similar to their other JetBrain IDE offerings

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

It has all the great features you can find in other JetBrain IDEs like terminal integration, smart code analysis,
git integration, database features, and a variety of plugins. It supports both Javascript and PHP so it's great for developers who work in both languages.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

If you only need php support, it might be a little heavy, but I think most folks won't even notice it with a halfway decent machine. Like their other offerings, it can be frustrating to have so many features/preference options, but once you get the hang it should be a solid tool.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Use the trial version and see for yourself.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A solid IDE allows developers to create their applications with less frustration and in less time. It was a reliable tool that made developing easier, which helped turn around new software/features that ultimately benefits the company's end goal.

  ### 24. PhpStorm is the best development environment for PHP

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roberta A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

In my opinion, the excellent feature of PhpStorm is its extremely good graphical interface. It is software with quite a few tools that help the developer, and it also has a remarkable community behind it.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

What I like least about PhpStorm is its learning curve; if you've never used the environment, it might be difficult to adapt to it.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I could propose it to anybody who desires a PHP development environment.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You could make web pages and web applications with PHP.

  ### 25. PhpStorm Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ismael T. | Full-stack Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I like all the tools that the software has. It is easy to configure and I think it has the best debugger. The documentation about the base software and the extensions are very clear and if you cannot install, for example, a plugin/extension, the community coul help you to install it with succcess.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

I think the wrost part is the price. It is unnecessary pay every year for a software. The best option, about the price, for me, is just pay for the software once; because I don't know, for example, imagine that I pay for it on February, if I will use the software newxt months. Another negative point is the memory that uses, at the startup you can see how the RAM memory grow up and when you execute some script (for example a gulp script) the memory grow up too because the software is executong the script and trying to index all the files.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Other people should try PhpStorm because I think is the most complete IDE that you can find nowadays.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I solve all the problems. It is the perfect tool to solve all the probles you have related with code. The main benefit I realized is that you hace all the necessary tools with the base installation; only installing the base software you could start to code without problems, not like others IDE's/text editors that you need to install the software and after that you need to spend hours configuring it. Of course you can spend hours configuring PhpStorm, but not at the beggining.

  ### 26. Top notch tool for quick development

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason H. | Creative Design Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I am really a fan of the shortcuts and shortcode that auto complete on frequently used bits of code. Although I know I don't use about 80% of the functionality of PHP Storm, it has definitely sped up my development.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

I am not a fan of what seems to not the best documentation. I'm sure the support is awesome, but the documentation seem to assume that new people to the software know certain things, that they may not necessarily know.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

PHP Storm is your solution to compliment your development software toolbox.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems that were solved were a faster way to develop with out the need of additional software or tools. PHP Storm does code completion, and other processing once set up correctly, that is a huge time saver!

  ### 27. A smart tool to program in PHP

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew F. | Programador sénior, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

It is a perfect IDE to work in php since it has all the necessary tools to be able to get the most out of it, it contains a pretty great debugger that will help you find errors more easily, it also contains integrated tools like REST client.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

The execution of the IDE the first time is a bit slow, you can download a free version but only for 30 days, so you will have to buy it, the price is a little high but it is worth it, since it offers many features that will help you to be more efficient.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When developing PHP and other web languages PhpStorm can help a lot because it has everything a programmer needs to develop as it should.

  ### 28. The best PHP IDE

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edwin R. | Senior Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I’ve gone through a lot of coding tools over the years, from Macromedia Dreamweaver to SublimeText and Espresso I think I’ve tried just about all of them. About two years ago I got tired of switching all the time and thought I found my ultimate solution in PHP Storm. It was fast, easily customizable and seemed to do everything I needed it to do. My favorite feature is the option to auto-upload my changes to the server.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

PHPStorm is particularly useful when programming with a MVC Framework like Laravel. However I don’t find it that useful when I’m working on small projects like editing HTML files.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Web sites and web applications.

  ### 29. Best PHP IDE out there

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shawn T. | Owner and Lead Software Engineer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I've been using PHPStorm for years now and it is by far my favorite PHP IDE.

It offers code inspections, which can help you identify issues with your code, which can be helpful narrowing down the semicolon or comma you might have forgot to put in. It also checks your HTML and CSS. It allows you to connect to a remote host, pulling the files directly from your server to the IDE and putting your edited files directly on to the server.

The database integration is great too! It allows PHPStorm to check your SQL syntax.

PHPStorm has a plugin manager, allowing you to add more features to this, already, feature-rich software.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

It can get pretty memory intensive, but that's a lot of the IntelliJ IDEs. Indexing files can also take some time as well.

PHPStorm is pretty slow to start up, but again, in my experience that's a lot of the IntelliJ IDEs.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

PHPStorm is a feature-rich PHP IDE. I've found it increases productivity and helps narrow down syntax errors. While it may not be free like some of the IDEs out there, it is definitely well worth the price!

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A lot of my company's websites utilize PHP, which lead to the need for a well put together PHP IDE. Using PHPStorm offered the best IDE we could find. The feature-rich software has led to increased productivity and faster development. It has also helped with identifying syntax errors.

  ### 30. PhpStorm Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** luis C. | Desarrollador web, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I have been using PHPStorm for 2 years. I had a free license when I was an undergraduate student and I used it for my final year project and also during my internship. It has great theme options (Darcula is the one I like the most). I have used the Laravel framework and it does its job very well. Additionally, the interpretation options are very straightforward.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

It has too many features, which makes the loading a bit slow.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

The autocomplete functions combined with ease of use really allow you to develop quickly and focus on the code in question instead of trying to make the program work.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a software developer and I use PHP most of the time. PHPStorm is more than sufficient for developers to completely resolve the IDE issue. I suggest all developers try PHPStorm.

  ### 31. Good php editor

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordi G. | Programador sénior, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

The IDE provides smart code completion, syntax highlighting, extended code formatting configuration, on-the-fly error checking, code folding, supports language mixtures and more. Automated refactorings that treat your code with care, helping to make global project settings easily and safely.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Background Tasks Performance - some background tasks like checking code changes make the program to stuck, which hurts the experience. It's is pretty slow to start up and it costs a lot of memory.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I highly recomend using PhpStorm if you want fast coding, high integrity and compatible software! supporting almost all web development technologies! let you focus on the code not the environment!

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps our company build an aplication with php . We can debug with the IDE and help us perform our tasks and code faster, without paying too much attention to the configurations.

  ### 32. Best IDE on market

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Upheld plugins include an unheard of level of adaptability to the experience.
Auto-remedy choices are very helpful and profound.
There is a free version wich you can use.
You can export or import the settings between Linux Mac or Windows very fast.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

The complex structure and the immense quantity of tools leave aside any opportunity to adapt to the program.
Java-based programming does not run as fast as I'd like.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I recommend to use at first the free version and if you think that you are capable
and if you feel comfortable and you think you are able to work well with the program, buy it.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it mainly for working with PHP files.

  ### 33. The best there is!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Airlines/Aviation | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Phpstorm let’s you customize every single aspect.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

It can be very slow sometimes when loading large files

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Live templates are amazing

  ### 34. Easy to use editor for code, but it can get really slow and clunky a lot of the time.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PHPStorm has a pretty good global search and file search that makes it really easy to jump across multiple areas of a huge codebase. It also has a lot of useful extra features that allow you to do things like use your terminal, resolve merge conflicts, and check code syntax correctness all inside the application.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

The downside of having all these features is the amount of processing power it uses and its speed. PHPStorm can get incredibly slow and laggy while it updates indexes (for global search), and some features are also locked during the index update. Having a better way to control when exactly indexes update could be beneficial here.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PHPStorm helps engineers stay productive by giving them the tools they need to understand and modify the codebase.

  ### 35. Makes PHP Cool Again

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Douglas O. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

It's the best IDE I've found for PHP. Very nice design, auto completion, and other features specific to Jetbrains IDEs like hovering over the scroll bar to see segments of code without having to scroll all the way to see it.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

I dislike PHP if that counts. But PHP Storm itself is great, I don't have any critique.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Go through a tutorial for the debugger. It's an extremely powerful tool that I neglected for a long time and regret it.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Web parsing and other backend development. PhpStorm in particular has made that easier.

  ### 36. PhpStorm makes coding a joy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brad J. | Head Honcho/Janitor, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PhpStorm is a real joy to use. I especially like the regular release cycle that is always adding functionality, and the simple license structure.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Honestly? Nothing really comes to mind. Sometimes the indexing can take a while and tax CPU when you update and you had a lot of projects open, but it's just an excuse to take a coffee break.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Just do it. The Jetbrains ecosystem is amazing and since their products share a common core engine, you get benefits from their improvements on other products, and freebies like JS language support in the PHP product.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If you're a programmer you really need a quality IDE. The Xdebug integration is awesome, and new features like Docker-aware Xdebug and docker-compose integration show that Jetbrains is committed to new technology adoption.

  ### 37. Very well put together PHP IDE

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason T. | Software Developer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PHPStorm is very well put together. It offers code inspection, which helps you identify issues early on, such as missing a comma, semi-colon, spelling errors, empty statements, and even logical errors. It offers code completion to help you get done quicker.

It has a very nice user interface, allowing you to easily navigate and find what you are looking for. The settings menu is well designed and easy to find the settings you are looking for. Settings up an FTP, SFTP, or FTPS server is quick and simple and so is connecting to a database. It offers SQL completion as well, if you have it connected to your SQL database and it will also inspect your SQL queries for errors.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

PHPStorm uses a lot of RAM. If your machine is running 8GB or less of RAM, you will notice the RAM usage. It is also slow to start up and slow opening projects.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Give it a try. You can take your time during the trial to get to know the features and all that it offers and see for yourself how great it is.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A lot of our backend is done in PHP and I needed a good IDE. PHPStorm has been a very good experience and has helped get PHP related projects completed more quickly and effectively.

  ### 38. PhpStrom an Intelligent php IDE

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Atul S. | Software Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

There are tons of features which can be amazing while writing php code in PhpStorm , some of them lsited as :-
1) Awesome code completions, code suggestions, code highlights.
2) Beautiful code reactor after deletion of files.
3) Awesome short hands
4) Supports git management
5) Inbuilt terminal support
6) Supports Debugging, Testing
7) Easy code navigation
8) Easy code folding
9) Supports html , javascript (newest versions ES6 ), mongo , sql etc

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

1) Its a little slow on load and I think thats because of the indexing of the project files at the startup.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

There are none smarter if compared to the products from jetbrains products. PhpStorm is all you need.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Writing php code made easy. Project completions are fast. Testing of the code is fast. So overall helps in delivering projects in time.

  ### 39. After years of using Dreamweaver recently switched to PhpStorm

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Wholesale | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Coming from the Dreamweaver environment to PhpStorm was an easy transition. I needed to get up and running quickly and it took minimal time to figure out how to do the equivalent in PhpStorm. I've only scratched the surface, but I am loving everything about PhpStorm...from the editor and code-hinting to the overall layout.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

As of now, there isn't anything I don't like about it.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Although there is a slight cost to purchase the license, I feel like it is well worth the money. You will recoup the money by increasing productivity.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest benefit so far has been speed. This IDE is much faster than Dreamweaver when it comes to large files. No lagging as I've experienced in the past.

  ### 40. A complete PHP IDE

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thiago F. | Full-stack Developer, Program Development, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

To me, the best feature is the code inspection, VCS Integration, embedded terminal and composer plugins.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

To me, the price so expensive and I this is the reason to not be the default IDE in my company.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Make a promotion and reduce the license price! Because I think that it's will make the companies involve all the developers with the IDE.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Resolve the problems of quality of code, Documentation and integration with git.

  ### 41. pstorm

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

customizing themes, clicking through to other files, the target feature to find where your file is, resolving merge conflicts

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

hard to remember all the keyboard shortcuts.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

main editor for our advertising platform. help people run their digital campaigns .

  ### 42. fast and helpful php ide

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PhpStorm loads up fast. It gives feedback (such as automatically giving a list of functions and properties available for a variable you are on, viewing where functions are called from, etc) fast. It has intuitive controls (from the look and location of buttons to the hotkey functionality). It looks good and has good options for changing the look and feel (background color, syntax highlighting for various parts, etc).

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

I can't really think of much that i dislike about phpstorm after using eclipse and others in comparison, although I admit it has been years since I have used a non-jetbrains IDE.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I've really enjoyed using it compared to eclipse and a couple minimalist editors that I've used. If you have used eclipse or something similar, you should be able to pick this up pretty fast... if you have used another jetbrains product such as webstorm or intellij, you should be able to pick this up extremely fast.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

developing php web apps. the benefits have been faster and more efficient development with less errors. it's from the same company as intellij and feels similar, so developers who have used that will pick it up especially fast.

  ### 43. I expected more from one of the most popular IDEs

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Comfortable navigation throughout the project. Instant searches by having the entire project indexed. The programming aid tool is very well developed. One of its greatest advantages is the high level of customization it allows. It is really useful to perform a refactoring.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

It only allows you to have one project open, meaning it forces you to instantiate the application for each of the projects you want to work on simultaneously. This exponentially increases the resource consumption of the PC. Poorly optimized, when you have it open with large projects and working with several plugins, it sometimes gets momentarily frozen.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Personally, this IDE is not to my liking and I recommend using other alternatives, although if you want to use a single tool to manage everything, whether it's code, databases, or versioning, this is the one for you.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It offers us an alternative with greater dynamism when working on projects. The main benefit is being able to advance quickly in day-to-day tasks, easily identifying everything that is likely to fail in the compilation.

  ### 44. My Favorite Software to develop under PHP, but for one month

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard E. | Senior Consultant, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I really like this software to develop web applications with php, with javascript and with html, it is very good to do testing, integrate with framewrok like symfony, laravel, it has many plugisn that facilitate the development, also the integration with the version control of git either with bitbucket, gitlab or github

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Well what I do not like is that your license is very expensive, approximately $ 200, but I make the most of your potential during the test month and for the 30 minutes in a row every time you start it, since if you do not pay the license, you will only approve its use every 30 minutes, otea of the things that I do not like is that it has no integration with the databases, similar to netbeans that allows you to connect to the database from the program

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I use it mainly when I am going to work php with framewoork like symfony and laravel, they make it much easier for me to develop

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it mainly when I am going to work php with framewoork like symfony and laravel, they make it much easier for me to develop

  ### 45. A new era for PHP

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

The code completion is nothing like the one in other IDEs. It actually analyses your code statically to give the developer the best and more contextual suggestions you will find. The Composer integration (just make sure that you install the additional/freel composer.json plug in) is a nice complement, which will warn you about unsafe dependencies.

But the main difference for my is that the whole IDE is made with the keyboard in mind, and the hotkeys are given the utmost importance. The best productivity level will not be reached until you master the keyboard shortcuts; the Key promoter plugin can help with that, showing a (bit intrusive) alert every time the user does an action with the mouse which could be made with the keyboard (and it points out the correct shortcut or an option to assign one).

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Almost no one will complain about the $200/year price tag. Not even the finance people. The productivity boost is just this huge. But there are two recurrent complains in my office: it's a memory hog (it's Java and it shows) and there's a moderately high learning curve until you can reach the turning point. The integrated guided tours help somehow, but using phpstorm is like playing an instrument: many people can do it, but few are masters.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Make use of the 30 day trial. User the EAP (early previews of the next version). Watch a few YouTube videos with tips. Do all this before buying a license

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were using NetBeans before. But the industry turned to PhpStorm and we wanted to know why. Then we tried it and were hooked. With huge code bases (100k lines of code onwards) there's few IDEs that can give that much contextual help being reasonably fast.

  ### 46. Phpstorm professionally

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

If we talk about the best thing that phpstorm can offer you, it is undoubtedly the professionalism of the application. It provides thousands of possibilities when it comes to web programming. You can instantly execute the developed code and view it through its own "browser." Without a doubt, it is simple and agile as a programming application.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

The main drawback that can be observed in PhpStorm is primarily the issue of the license; it is a paid development software, therefore it has an additional cost, especially when compared to other web development programs such as NetBeans, Eclipse (although it is not solely focused on web development).

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

If you can afford the license, it is one of the best web development software.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Above all, conducting tests of code snippet insertion for web pages, which have been developed mainly for ecommerce pages for large companies such as Bandai Namco, Square Enix, etc.

  ### 47. The best IDE ever!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Khaled A. | Inrastructure Engineer II, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I'm using PhpStorm for more than 18 months!! it's my favorite PHP IDE ever!
It provides the most tools the developer may need for development! Database browser, Remote host browser, and all customizations amazing integrity and compatibility with most components and technologies.
I like the kaymap and new features for the keyboard! like multiple lines selection
You don't have to worry about missing features or tools! because thousands of plugins is available in the repository

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

it costs a lot of memory and it takes some time to index project files!
every time you start the application you have to wait for indexing it depends on the hugeness of your project.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Use PhpStorm if you want fast coding, high integrity and compatible software! supporting almost all web development technologies! let you focus on the code not the environment!

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Things are much simpler with PhpStorm, debugging PHP code using xdebug wasn't that easy without PhpStorm! now you can inspect a specific line of code and check local variables, not to mention the intermediate window!
using PhpStorm you can perform your tasks and code faster, without paying too much attention to the configurations and deployment, all you need set your configurations and go

  ### 48. A great IDE for developing in PHP

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Javier S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

One of its best qualities is that we can apply code style configurations across our entire team. The code inspection tools are invaluable and not available elsewhere. Additionally, the user-friendly interface is the best part of this IDE.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Sometimes, the IDE flickers, and sometimes indexing runs for a long time, causing high CPU usage. And loading certain projects can be somewhat slow.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Ideal for developing in PHP

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Develop and build new APIs, as well as clean debugging of the PHP backend

  ### 49. Straightforward Yet Comprehensive Interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

The code completion works very well, and the ability to refactor is important. It is easy to switch from one PHP or CSS/HTML page to another, a feature which I like.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

There is really nothing that I dislike at this point. It was easy to install and there are a number of helpful videos. It does take a minute to load but I don't really see that as a problem.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I looked at all options, this was most recommended.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a great teaching tool for my daughter, a student learning PHP. We hope to use it to improve a startup software that we are creating.

  ### 50. Really Cool Editor

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I like that PHPStorm allows for lots of plugins. There are not many IDE's that a;llows as many useful plugins such as PHPStorm

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

At times on my machine, it has at times taken awhile to open up and this may be because PHPStorm is a heavier application.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used it to build many of my clients' sites from scratch.
