## About PhpStorm
PhpStorm is a PHP integrated development environment (IDE) developed by JetBrains that provides tools for writing, analyzing, testing, and debugging PHP applications. It is designed for professional PHP developers, full-stack web developers, and software teams building server-side and web-based applications. Common use cases include developing PHP web applications, maintaining legacy systems, working with modern JavaScript frameworks, integrating databases, and managing large or multi-module codebases. PhpStorm supports the PHP development lifecycle within a single environment. It includes context-aware coding assistance, project navigation tools, refactoring capabilities, debugging functionality, and integrations with version control systems and testing frameworks. The IDE runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, providing a consistent development environment across platforms. Key features and capabilities include: • Intelligent code assistance with context-aware completion, syntax highlighting, inspections, quick documentation, and automated refactorings for PHP and related web technologies • Built-in support for PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, and Zend Framework, along with support for HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and templating languages including Twig and Blade • Navigation and project analysis tools that enable search across files, classes, symbols, and usages, supporting work in large or complex codebases • Integrated debugging and testing tools, including breakpoint management, PHPUnit support, and version control integration such as Git • Database and deployment tools, including SQL support, remote interpreters, Docker and Vagrant integration, and built-in terminal access PhpStorm enables developers to manage backend and frontend workflows within a single IDE. By combining language-specific code intelligence with debugging, testing, and deployment support, it provides a structured environment for PHP application development across local and remote environments.

## PhpStorm Reviews
  ### 1. Had a good experience working with Laravel

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Morsi D. | Backend Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Phpstorm has support for templating using Twig and Laravel Blade. Well Phpstorm supports many php frameworks key amongst them being Laravel itself and thus it soes not come as a shock that Blade (which is a Laravel feature) is supported. However, I've listed it because there are several IDEs out there such as Netbeans that support Laravel but which do not integrate blade in them
There is auto-sync on phpstorm which enables one to sync with other files in a remote server. The auto-sync feature on phpstorm is much more efficient than that found on libnotify and vagrant on rsync.
You can also test RESTful services on phpstorm because it allows you to develop endpoints without ever leaving the IDE thus there is very little interruptions to your work flow.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Phpstorm exhausts computer resources and would not be suitable for using on a machine with a small RAM count and an even slow procesor like and intel pentium or celeron. In fact your computer needs to have at least 4 processing cores for you to have a wholesome experience working with phpstorm.
The IDE can also be buggy at times for example when the file indeixing is not completed then there will be syntax errors which might then lead to poor code validation and an unhelpful auto completion experience.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

You need to have more than a basic understanding of PHP to be able to use this IDE effectively; this is also why I would hesitate to recommend this tool to a complete beginner.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There is not an a program out in the market which provides support for PHP and its many libraries like Symphony, Yii, Laravel, Magento etc the way that Phpstorm does. This is why I love it and that is the benefit I've gotten out of using it.

  ### 2. Premium Integrated Development Environment

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edward O. | Database Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

The code completion found on phpstorm goes beyond just how the editor understands the language being written. Instead, it goes as far as inspecting the entire project and understands the available variables, functions and objects etc. and suggests code auto completions bases on this knowledge. This auto complete design is rather known as word expansion.
Being an IDE, Phpstorm provides support for almost all the commonly used php frameworks like yii,Symphony 2, and Laravel. There's also additional support for javascirpt frameworks such as React and Angular. Most server-side development these days use frameworks especially to achieve certain repetitive tasks that do not need one to reinvent the whole. It is therefore reassuring to know that this IDE understands what the developers needs frequently and carter for that need.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

You can only open one project on one Phpstorm instance at a time. If you need to open another probably to refer to an issue or perform a quick fix before proceeding with your workm, you have to open it in another window of Phpstorm. ANd this is not ideal given the fact that this IDE consumes resources on a computer at a very high rate and two instances of it might end up making your machine unusable. This then calls for the need for a secondary lighter editor.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

First of all remember that this is a paid product and thus you should consider whether the expected returns are worth investing on it. Without thinking about costs, however, this is genuinely an excellent tool that will make your coding and software development life easier.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All of our company;s systems that are built with php or a php framework are developed from phpstorm with a uniform development environment that cuts through the entire team because it's actually a policy.

  ### 3. An intelligent IDE for WEB

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniele C. | Docent, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

This ide is one of the best for web programming, the integration with every possible tools, framework or cms, the suggestor for the methods, the integration with git and ftp, the possibility to add more plugins or create your own, can support composer npm, and several other package gestor, it can install aniting for you, framework, component, library, in any way you wont, and can download it for you

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

nothing, i love this ide, it don't have any problem. It's perfect for me, not have more defects, is fast and easy to use, only 1 problem for now, the impossibility to connect with YouTrack for tracking the compeltition of task and gaining the list of task and bugs or issue from youtrack, you can do this with a plugins, but in myy opinion this two software are complementary and the integration
 must be default

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

PhpStorm is the best Ide for web Developing, its price is right. i raccomend it for eveery developer, for front-end developer, it have integration with more framework and cms like bootstrap, joomla, wordpress. For back-end developer, it support several server language, not only php, it support java, python and more, for fullstack developer, it have all,

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have solved more problems at once, the possibility to manage my db, the ftp with remote host, the integration with git e composer, all in one single software

  ### 4. PhpStorm, the greatest PHP IDE out there.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Niklas M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2020

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I love very much everything about PhpStorm, it is a very natural to use IDE that brings a lot of great features with it. One of the best features given is the auto-complete feature. It is one of the most developed and integrated auto-complete-features I have ever come across in IDEs. Not only simple suggestions are given while you are coding, but even simple and small things like displaying parameter names when using a function. As well you can add more features by adding addons and libraries. For example, when you are working in a framework like Laravel or Symfony there are plenty of libraries you can add to PhpStorm.
But not only the auto-complete-feature is mentionable, but PhpStorm also has an integrated database tool and a VCS in case you are working with a repository service like git.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Even though I really should put in things in here that I do not like, there is not a lot and that is why I am going to keep it short. The only problem I have with PhpStorm is that it is built on java and therefore it is kind of a mess when it comes to memory usage.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Who are you? In case you are a starting freelancer, I think there are other less pricy options than PhpStorm, in case you are a professional company that values efficiency and quality, then PhpStorm is indispensable for you.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since we are working in agile processes in our team, we make use of git and the integration PhpStorm offers is great. Next to that, we are working in the e-commerce branch and frameworks like Shopware and Oxid come to our daily usage. Therefore the auto-complete-feature helped me a lot getting into those frameworks without having to open the documentation every time.

  ### 5. Powerful and Flexible IDE for building PHP Web Applications

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikita B. | Software Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

No matter you want to build a small business web application or a complex one, Php storm is the perfect IDE for building powerful PHP applications. All the major PHP framework Laravel, Symphony, Wordpress, Magento are supported in PhpStorm. It even supports Front-end technologies such as CSS, HTML, Javascript, and Vue. It can smartly inspect and analyze the whole project structure and provides the best code completion and refactorings.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Whenever a new version of PhpStorm arises for MacOS it redownloads the whole PhpStorm IDE and that can be really frustrating sometimes. I have even experienced a few performance issues while working on projects and while running the composer in the PhpStorm IDE terminal.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently, We utilize all JetBrains products such as Datagrip, PhpStorm, CLion, PyCharm, RubyMine, and ReSharper for building a various applications for our clients. I have mostly utilized PhpStorm for developing Laravel and Magento web application and it has helped us in developing a very powerful application that is neatly written.

  ### 6. IDE on which PHP developers are proud of

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manish G. | Fullstack Developer, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

The best part is, it is powered by JetBrains so it has all the cool functionality like code indexing, autocompletion and git commands like merge, rebase can be done with just a single click!!!. Navigating on code is also superb easy.
Their keyboard commands are their greatest asset as just by tapping some keys we can easily move throughout the code which significantly improves the development
Also it auto recognise SQL queries as well as we can integrate our database with ide by its SQL driver. As this software is properly backed up by team of developers so they keep on adding new features which makes it exciting and safe to use

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

With respect to other IDE's available for PHP, it is too resource-intensive i.e. whenever I have PhpStorm open, I have to be careful with whatever I have opened in my system. For someone who is already using some opensource IDE, the price factor may also become a reason not to use.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With PhpStorm, we can just focus on development, PHP being a scripting language, it becomes hard to maintain and organise code but its autocomplete feature, indentation keep everyone on the same page and velocity.
I realised that sometimes tools really help us to achieve better

  ### 7. Making development better using PHPstorm IDE

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nivedita S. | Software Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Phpstorm is the perfect IDE for developing web applications using PHP, HTML, CSS, and javascript. I really like how we can easily create a project using the composer or using existing sources such as a web server is a remote host and files can only be accessed via FTP or SFTP. It has a very quick debugging process that can easily point out errors in the projects.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

There is a bug sometimes as when we refactor the code it slows down the system and causes an extensive change in the project.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're a web agency that utilizes Jetbrains different products such as Phpstorm, Webstorm, Datagrip, Rubymine, and Pycharm for developing mid and large scale web applications. Phpstorm makes it really easy for us to develop powerful web applications using PHP. It requires very minimal configuration and provides a very great level of functionality.

  ### 8. The only way to develop in PHP

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simone D. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I love the syntax highlighting. It works like a charm for PHP, HTML, CSS and Javascript / React files. It comes out with powerful code autocompletion and code navigation that helps a lot when you are working with frameworks or CMSes.
It's easy to extend with official and non-official plugins. For example I work mostly with Symfony framework and the official plugin helps a lot in creating services, navigating between routes, etc.
The applications supports natively version control system which means you are able to do common actions within your IDE. The best feature is the "Resolve conflicts" that allows you to merge or rebase your branches in an easy way.
You can run your Unit tests from the IDE even if you are working with virtual machines or Docker containers. It supports Vagrant and Docker perfectly.
If you are a student or you're working on an open source project you can ask for a free license.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

It requires a lot of resources and when it starts to index contents of a big project requires a lot of times in which you are not able to find or navigate between files.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I recommend Material UI plugin for a better user experience.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PHPStorm allows me and my team to develop our application based on PHP backend and a single page application React based with just one application without the need to use an external Javascript IDE.

  ### 9. Tool that deserves become industry standard

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

It works really nice with a huge codebase, I'm using it for project with a several thousands lines of code, excluding vendors. I have to admit code autocompleting works really fast. Also it provides huge amount of varies plugins that is really nice too, at the very end I'm thinking about writing my custom one for my team ( but that requires some Java knowledge )
Natively integrates with a third party tools, like a industry best practice and recommendations for the testing etc
Have nice integration with docker, that allows to use containerised binaries for php itself, as well as for unit tests and other tool, not all of the needed yet, but quite significant amount.
Recently it obtained possibility to open several projects in the same windows, that I wound useful.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Can consume a lot of memory, but that is cost of using java machine, a few a few gigabytes - easy!
Index rebuild can take time even on machine with i9 cpu.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

With an annual subscription you can save some money, comparing to monthly. Also vendor provides small discounts for the quantity of licenses you buying.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

IDE can help with focusing on the things that really matter, but not in the fighting with environment, it can simply speedup development by offering code completing and integration with git and other tools.
For me as a team player it also provides an easy way to share setting across team, so we have no need to talk about code style configuration etc ( all needed settings stored in repository )

  ### 10. Best PHP development IDE

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Asara K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

One of the best IDE for PHP programming. This is a product from Jetbrains community.I have used this IDE for Laravel developing in my company and this is very user friendly and easy to coding. It includes many multi functions and short keys.Furthermore it supports to the mainly used PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symphony, Wordpress, Magento and Yii.It has reliable, smart coding assistant and facilities to the debugging the codes. We can directly run SQL commands from PHP Storm without using any application.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

The major issue is it takes larger partition of Ram and processor to run the IDE.If your computer has less performance it will be really hard to open and run the IDE.It takes too much time.Besides from those factors PHPStorm is too much expensive.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I think you should have good practice in PHP programming to get the best output from this software. You should have to buy this product after free trial. So that if you are a good developer who earn money from IT projects, price of the IDE won't be a issue.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So far i have completed many client Laravel projects using Phpstorm and it gave me a great support for the coding.I wrote html, css, javascripts, php codes using this IDE.Many developers use this IDE in our company because of its great support for the PHP programming.

  ### 11. Effective for PHP projects

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Angela M. | Backend Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

As the name suggests, phpstorm is an excellent IDE for building web projects and particularly when using PHP and PHP frameworks. This IDE supports frameworks such as laravel, yii, symphony and magento to an indepth level that you feel like there is a tutor helping you code.
I love phpstorm's intelligent code completion feature which not only auto completes my code based on not only how the IDE understands the language being used, but also on my previously types words.
There is also support for PHPDoc which automaticaly generate documentation from the comments inside code. The project's documentation process is then made faster and entails much less work.
Phpstorm also has inspection for almost all the languages it supports including javascript, html and even sql for which it beautifully autocompletes tables and fields. You are able to view instantly and ensure that your database adheres to your code rules. Speaking of, there is even database view which even though isn't that detailed, it still allows you to perform routine database operations

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Phpstorm exhausts resources in such a rapid rate that the only way to actually enjoy working with it is to use a device with 8GB of RAM and four cores. Otherwise your device will always be unresponsive whenever phpstorm is running.
Phpstorm is also a tad too expensive without offering anything so different from free alternatives such as vs code

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

If you work a lot with php or even if you just concentrate heavily on web development then it is my opinion that you will benefit hugely from using phpstorm

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use phpstorm for developing websites and maintaining them on a larger scale. It is the most apt IDE for me because of its dedication to php which is what I use to build my projects

  ### 12. thought of the developer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ramon D. | Full Stack Pleno Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

From the start you may be scared by so many buttons that IDE offers you, but with use, you understand that they are very well organized and useful in the day to day of the developer, docker and database integration, git Beautifully crafted file tree, autocompletes, and framework plugins make the program quite optimized for the PHP developer.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

The program takes a while to start, this can be considered a disadvantage, and if you look at the momoria sleep in these early stages is very high.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently programming in php, with doctrine and the YII2 framework, the plugins that the IDE offers, greatly facilitates the development, as well as facilitating the snagging between files. When I need to write a query manually the tool also helps me.

  ### 13. A very comprehensive development environment

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Linda G. | Senior Backend Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

like the overwhelming amount of support and helpful tips that you can get from the IDE. First of all, each time you start up the application, there is always a tip on how to make the best use of phpstorm. Most people that i know of turn this feature off but I like to leave it one because I've come to learn on several instances that there far much more about what the IDE can do that I am yet to try out. This gives me the chance to learn about those features.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Phpstorm has so very many features that it becomes overwhelming especially to the newbie user. You're presented with a lot of features so much so that you do not know which ones to try out. Most times, you end up using a very minimal percentage of what the editor has to offer and I think that is not a good thing.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I would advise you to seriously give phpstorm a try because it is an excellent IDE which supports a lot of languages and is especially good for php works.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Phpstorm has made it easy for me to build websites and application by writing, testing and debugging code on it. i write php, javascript and python code on php

  ### 14. The complete IDE for web development

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samuel J. | Backend Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

The code completion intelligence on phpstorm is mind-blowing because it not only makes these predictions and suggestions based on its very own innate unnderstanding of the PHP language but it also does its best to understand the code you are writing and gives you suggestions based on that. It is spectacular in that regard because your work is tremendously easened.
Functionally, I love how Phpstorm supports all the major php frameworks given the fact that most development work today is done via frameworks and not just the native version of a language.
Besides giving unprecedented support for PHP, Phpstorm also have succinct support for other languages and their frameworks such as Javascript with React, Vue, and Angular. This means development on php will be reduced to working primarily with just one editor.
Despite being a proprietary software, Phpstorm tries to mind developers who might just be starting out and student developers too. Jetbrains, the parent company, gives students its premium products including to students completely free of charge

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

You are likely to experience slow performances on Phpstorm and this will even be worsened if you have a computer with low RAM and a slow processor. This is because it is a relatively heavy software with a lot of features in it. Also, being heavy makes phpstorm look buggy and the interface appears to be too clutterd with features.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I will strongly urge you to go ahead and sart using this IDE especially if you're an experienced developer who know what they want from an IDE

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use phpstorm in our organization as the primary tool for developing the backend of our web applications and at times for curating our databases.

  ### 15. PHPStorm the must have for every developer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PhpStorm makes my life easier when it comes to application development. It Provides great functionality such as automatically saving and uploading the file to the remote server. Which really speeds up the process. It also synchronises files from and to remote the server and notifies if the local file is different from the remote one. This way it won’t overwrite remote files by accident. It also supports big range of programming languages. Lots of available plugins which helps with the projects on a daily basis. It is my favorite IDE.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

There isn’t really anything I dislike about this IDE. I have been working with PhpStorm IDE for over 5 years now and I always managed to complete anything I need. Perhaps one small issue is the amount of ram it is using when project have few thousand files. But that’s not a massive issue with the resources that are available today.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It speeds up the development process. Helps to keep projects organized. Integrated with various version control services such as git which helps to keep the code base organised and safe when working with the team of developers.

  ### 16. The best PHP IDE for your projects

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** kurmar s. | Information Technology Specialist, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

It is most compatible with the latest version of php and on top of that i can load my project on the IDE where i can code with ease. It has good user interface. The way the project files can be backed up to the GItHub using GIT is superb and this happens in real time as makes any changes to my code. the structuring of my code is good and this helps in understanding code more faster and makes it easier to know where the error is. It accepts more language that i use be it PHP, html, JS and many more making it more diverse to code in different language and make your app more appealing. The application is easier to install and integrate to other application like hosting app like wamp server.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

I have not experienced any challenges while coding in this IDE.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I would recommend every web programmer to consider using PhpStorm for his/her projects since it is easier to use and has more functionalityhe can choose from while coding the web applications.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem of backing up my code every time i make any changes has been solved since the update made from my code is updated to the GitHub automatically and this makes it easier and effective in managing my project.
has made my project to have a good design and be attractive and readable.

  ### 17. An all-round tool for backend development

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elias W. | UI Designer , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Phpstorm is not just a program on which you write lines of codes and then run them. Instead, it is fully integrated with other development tools such as a data handler for any type of database that your application runs on such as mysql.
This IDE makes development more comfortable as it abstracts and implements by default some actions that would otherwise have taken you time to manually configure.
In terms of features, I particularly like the integrated shell/terminal on which you can also run some commands like uploading your website files from within the program.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Phpstorm can be a little intimidating when you begin using it and especially when you are also new to programming. There are so very many features within the app and as a newbie I was a bit confused trying to understand what they all meant and accomplished. Thus I don't think phpstorm is friendly to beginners.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

If most of your development work involves working with php then you should really consider using this IDE. Furthermore, it also supports other languages such as javascript and ruby so well

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use phpstorm to write the PHP code that implements most of the backend functionality of our website and other applications. It has tremendous support for the language and most of its frameworks.

  ### 18. Extremely intelligent PHP IDE

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ochinjo J. | Web Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

There is code inspection of all kinds on phpstorm which is not just limited to php,, html and javascript but also incorporates sql inspections and autocompletion of tables and their columns. This especially gives you the chance to verify that your database structure follows your code rules There is also a dedicated additional tab which while is not very powerful, it gives you the features required for daily usage.
Phpstorm has a an inbuilt debugger, Xdebug, which can even be used for remote debugging.
There are so very many plugins available on phpstorm that can extend the IDE's powers. These plugins are ether from Jetbrains or the community around Phpstorm and

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Besides being very expensive and hence making little sense to startup companies with limited cash, it is also a protected intellectual property that can not be edited to achieve an inidvidual's specific needs.
This IDE has an overcluttered interface that used to scare me as beginner because I did not know what any of those features were about.
Lastly, phpstorm requires a lot of memory to run and it registers slow performance occasionally which can cause disruptions to your work.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

ANyone who works a lot with php language should absoluutely try and make phpstorm their primary IDE

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When working with our applicaiton's backend we use php extensively and particularly the laravel framework. We needed an IDE that provided support for these frameworks and that is how we landed on phpstorm and we've never regretted the decision

  ### 19. The most complete PHP IDE in the market

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

One of the most helpful features of Phpstorm is its intelligent code completion which I've come to love a lot lately. It makes structural code completion suggestions based on its exhaustive understanding of the PHP programming language. Word expansion, which may not be as deep as structural, is also very helpful as it makes completions on the word you're currently typing based on previously typed words.
Phpstorm also supports various php frameworks such as laravel, magento, and symphony; and that comes in handy given that most coding these days is done through frameworks rather than the language in its native form.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

The software uses up a lot computing resources. To begin with, it takes up a considerably large amount of installation space - more than 200mbs. At the same time, when its running, the app uses almost all your computer's cores and a lot of RAM. This makes it less effective for computers with low resource amounts such as a dual core running 2gb of ram. As a developer, you'll be left screaming at your comp most of the time when it starts to hang.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I think you will get the most benefit from using phpstorm if you have intermediate skills in PHP and know how to use IDEs and code editors well enough to reduce your workload. If this is your case then without a doubt go for it. However, this is not to say that beginners should not use the IDE. I think growing your knowledge as you get accustomed to an IDE is also a good way to learn

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PHP is on of the primary back-end languages that we use to build our systems and thus getting an IDE that is specifically oriented for PHP development but not limited to it has been very beneficial to our company.

  ### 22. Great IDE

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

the interface of the php storm is very user friendly and it provides more useful suggestions while developing the application. the indentation and spacing are perfect for any application developed using php and any php framework.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

the premium version allows to access all the features but it doesn't support developing when the renewal delays. it gets closed for every 30 minutes which is really inconvenient

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

php storm is very good for projects developed based on php and related technologies

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

developing all the web applications and software projects. it is really easy to load the whole project at once and it is even more friendly to use a php framework.

  ### 23. Fast and useful PHP IDE

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pedro C. | Freelance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

One of the most effective PHP IDEs on the market with local support for frameworks including Laravel and CakePHP. All standard IDE functions work well, accurate error prevention, autocomplete, and search functions.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

It is not a platform for users to edit individual scripts. Like all good IDEs, it can be intimidating to try to understand or even know all the features, but I still don't want a feature that I couldn't find supported in PHPStorm. There is nothing I haven't liked about the program so far.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I strongly recommend that you first take the 30-day trial version offered by JetBrains for this product, so you can familiarize yourself with the IDE. If you are not used to JetBrains IDEs, it can be a bit chaotic at first to find some kind of setting or customization.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Almost every company or almost all development companies are using PHPStorm instead of other IDEs, and that's for a reason. I've used it to build many of my clients' sites from scratch. I like how it automatically saves for me and sends code changes to my development server without needing to. To push and pull to and from GitHub.

  ### 24. Undoubtedly , the best PHP IDE out there in the software market out there .

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Avinash K. | Associate Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

There are several things I like about the PHPStorm :
- It is faster than most of the IDE's out there .
- In built support of Git . It saves a lot of time for me .
- With the integration of XDebug, the power doubles .
- Debugging is a cakewalk .

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

There are very few things I don't like about the PHPStorm :
- It is a little over whelming for someone who is new .
- I still don't get the Pull branch thing for the Git tool .
- It is a little expensive tool over other software .
- Initial loading time is more than the other software .

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Just go for it without even thinking twice . It's perhaps the best PHP Integrated Development Environment out there in the market . You wont need to use other software also like command prompt or git bash . It has all in one place .

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work in a product development company as a software engineer whose primarily work is on PHP . PHPStorm helps me in many ways apart from writing code , I can debug applications . It's inbuilt syntax checker helps me a lot and saves time . Production time is decreased a lot by using it .

  ### 25. Very good HTML and JavaScript code editor

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Armando E. | Licenciado en Informática, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

It is highly recommended software for editing HTML and JavaScript code, very useful for the application and development of websites and mobile apps. It features an important engine for error searching and commands on the fly, to ensure the best work is developed, especially if what we want is maximum efficiency for our applications. It also includes a very comprehensive SQL editor to resolve the multiple syntaxes in our projects to be developed.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

The only thing missing is a better preview mode, as it would be the perfect way to see and know for sure what we are developing while also checking the work done.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I recommend that you always be attentive to the errors that are highlighted, especially when working with SQL, as sometimes the difference is not marked due to the syntax.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Where I work, I find a multinational software that allows us to apply it to both website and app development. Its error detection mode on the work we are doing is very comprehensive, so we solve these problems as they arise. It also allows us to simulate a connection to the SQL database and check the efficiency in the case of applications that we also develop for mobile devices. This way, it saves us a lot of work time.

  ### 26. Best software for PHP

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** alessandro p. | Sandro, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Since I've been using PhpStorm, I can't use any other program. It's simple, intuitive, and full of features. You can navigate very well between the files of a project, as well as between different projects. The error correction is always precise.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

I don't like having to pay annually, I prefer to pay for a license just once and then pay for updates if necessary. In any case, I find the price appropriate.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It made writing the code faster. Even when writing in other languages, it tells me the errors, allowing me to solve them before doing the build (clearly I'm not talking about PHP in this case).

  ### 27. Best ide for php

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pol A. | Backend developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I decided to use PHPStorm as my main code editor/ide due its good performance comparing to others code editors like VSCode. The features I like the most are, between others, the code completion, misspelling corrections and code navigation. With them, I learnt a lot about use of PSR, code style and code performance. Also, I am able to refactor old code with more confidence because PHPStorm is in charge of ensuring the changes I've are not broking thinks (rename variables, moving code..) before executing tests. I am also detecting typos in the existing code, finding unused pieces of code, and it's more easy than ever to do code refactors.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

The main problem I had with PHPStorm is that it is really slow if you want to code using a remote ssh mount. With an attached ssh mount it is impossible to use some integrations like git, code navigation and others. This feature works better on sublime, where you can work using an ssh mount without the same wast of time than PHPStorm.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

If you code in PHP, you have to give it a chance.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it for everyday coding. With PHPStorm I have more confidence with the code I write while also I can code faster at the same time I learn.

  ### 28. A must have for PHP development

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John S. | Lead Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

The IDE actually understands when you are using a PHP5 project or a PHP7 project, thats just amazing, no need to thinker with options that you don't need because flatly aren't available on the version you are using in that specific moment. I dislike PHP, I try to avoid whenever I can but sometimes I have to integrate a server side script and PHP it's the fastest way, whenever I need do that I use PhpStorm,

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Price tag is a little high, still totally worth it, the time saved using a good IDE is worth more than using a free IDE and extra hours per project, pays itself in the long run.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

If you need to use PHP in a regular or semi regular basis, buy this IDE it's totally worth it.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Php code analysis, development and modification.

  ### 29. The best tool for editing PHP

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sandra C. | Web Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

It's just the best tool for editing PHP, it works marvelously, I'm not a fan of PHP myself but PhpStorm makes less annoying having to deal with the PHP side of the website.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Nothing wrong with the program itself but It's a bit annoying when you refactor something by mistake, I'm not a fan of the default keyboard shortcuts, and yet I'm too lazy to change them.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

If you don't like the keyboard shortcuts it's entirely feasible to change them in an easy way.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I only deal with PHP when something needs to be upgraded or it's not working, and that's my least favorite part of my job but PhpStorm makes that more bearable.

  ### 30. Phpstorm

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julius W. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I liked how Phpstorm was able to handle code auto completion which made our team to code faster and with less syntax errors. Phpstorm has several built-in tools that aid the developer in doing their work such as git, an ftp client and a plugin system that can be used to extend PhpStorm's functionality. To add on that, Phpstorm is free for students and as such it helped me complete my project with all the features it has available for me to use. Further, Phpstorm is cross platform which means that you can use it on a windows environment or on a linux operating system and get the same user interface and functionality.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

It requires one to install Oracle's Java so as to be able to be used by developers.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Phpstorm provides several powerful tools that help in development of great applications. Some features such as autocompletion, a built in shell and an easy to use user interface make it a great Integrated Development Enviroment (IDE) software.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has been used by our teams to provide code auto completion, code refactoring and deployments to the cloud. Using Phpstorm had cut the time we used to deploy our web applications to half thanks to its great features.

  ### 31. PhpStorm - the best among PHP IDE's

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joe M. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I love that PhpStorm isable to highlight PHP syntax correctly thus saving me the time to cross check on the syntax I have written. PhpStorm also provides the best auto completion among IDE's which ensures that you write code faster by helping you complete common programming structures. To add, the user interface has been designed well with the most used features being assigned easy to remember shortcut keys. PhpStorm has got it right by making it easy to setup debugging, a thing that has been hard to setup is now done in one click and therefore debug your application becomes easy.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

I don't like that PhpStorm consumes alot of memory and this may affect your computer if it doesn't have enough memory capacity.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I highly recommend PhpStorm especially to web developers.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PhpStorm to write PHP, HTML and CSS code and it has enabled me to be more productive as it is an intelligent IDE that works for me rather than against me.

  ### 32. The PHP IDE is a very advanced tool for programming.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** carlos g. | Web designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

The best thing about PHPStorm is the ease with which you can build applications. The design of the machine, the automatic termination, and the resources for the specific resources of the Jetbrains IDE, such as the toolbar for the vehicle code and the user interface, are easy to understand and will be useful in the future. It includes support for composer, docker, Git, Symfony as a plugin... Whatever application or framework you use to program your web application, it will be compatible with this IDE, with an embedded terminal to execute commands or directly install or update. You can edit the templates used by the IDE when generating classes, interfaces... to remove the annoying comments at the beginning of the code and comply with the PSR structure.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

In my opinion, the key shortcuts were better in Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code. Another thing is that the search sometimes has trouble finding something else your IDE really understands when you are using a PHP5 project or a PHP7 project, which is just amazing. You do not need to think about options that you do not need because they are not available in the version you are using at that specific moment. I do not like PHP; I try to avoid it whenever I can, but sometimes I have to integrate a server-side script and PHP is the fastest way. Whenever I need to do this, I use PhpStorm.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

It is perfect for the development of JPhp, JavaScript. I highly recommend it if you are willing to pay the expensive license. This IDE saves a considerable amount of time in software development and improves the productivity of the developer, so take advantage of the 30-day trial. Watch some YouTube videos like those by the good Carlos Vinos. And you finally will not regret acquiring a license for PhpStorm, and moreover, you will buy more licenses from the "Storm" family.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Buy this for the team helped the new features of the product to be launched faster, improved the focus and the happiness of the web development team. PHPStorm helps a lot when it comes to solving small problems and that is easy for me when programming in PHP.

  ### 33. PHP storm for web development

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stanley D. | Data Engineer, Computer Hardware, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

1. PHP storm gives syntax suggestions, references to the location of classes and files imported in the present code, and allows one to use short commands to create divs and javascript functions.
2. JetBrains offers a year subscription to students to use PhpStorm for free.
3. PHP storm allows me to easily perform git commands and functions directly, such as pushing my current work straight to GitHub

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

PhpStorm is very heavy, takes a lot of time to fully load on my system, and sometimes lags.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When working with bootstrap on PhpStorm, I was able to view classes available on bootstrap as suggestions, which made me try them out and see which one fits better.

  ### 34. The (almost) perfect PHP IDE

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabriele C. | Account executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PHP Storm is a great IDE for PHP developers, it is full of functionality and it is upgradable with external repos.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

It is heavy on memory, it takes time to open up and index projects. Also, it stores lot of data on your memory to keep indexed your projects. If you have a big workspace it can occupy gigas of space.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Keep in mind the storage used for the caching and indexing of project. Sometimes needs a clean up.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it for all of my development projects.

  ### 35. The Most Reliable IDE For PHP Development

The software is used for programming in a lot of languages, not only PHP.
I usually program with PHP, but also Jquery, Javascript, html in most part.

In some cases, I loved the integration with some frameworks, like Spring and Laravel.
With laravel, especially, PhpStorm has a lot of iintegration, such as suggestions.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Well I really enjoy Jetbrains products and how each product is tailored for a specific language but through the add-on and plugins you can extend the IDE to whatever your needs are

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Well you do have to pay for it and the subscription model is pricey, but this does not stop me from using it

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Try the EAP (Early Access Program) first to evaluate and check out the awesome documentation

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

intellij and the add-on / plugins are there to solve almost any problem, but using the IDE I find coding, refactoring and debugging easier. and if I need to dig into things, there are tools to help

  ### 38. I use PHPStorm at work and at home

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Where to start. Notepad++ gets the job done on smaller projects, but honestly I need an IDE that does more than the bare minimum. PHPStorm has a ton of features I use every day, and I am constantly learning of new shortcuts that I really like.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

I have been a PHP developer for 2 years and I have found no downsides to using PHPStorm when compared to other IDEs.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Give it a try. I think there is a free trial period. It's worth your time to download it and give it a try.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At work we have several web based applications where we use PHPStorm to write code. I like how it automatically saves for me and sends my code changes to my development server without needing to push and pull to and from GitHub.

I also use it for personal projects, mostly website development for friends and clients on the side.

  ### 39. Best in class integrated development environment

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Provides a unified environment to help me understand a code base and produce code. Plugins add functionality when required. There are so many features I feel like I've only skimmed the surface.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Indexing can sometimes take a long time, and resource usage can be extreme. Feel this is partly down to Java core, but having this architectural decision ultimately means the package is portable, which is great.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm currently using PhpStorm to help produce frontend code for a complex react application. It's helped me to get to grips with the codebase quickly. Especially useful when looking for the JSX files that relate to specific child and parent components.

  ### 40. Complete php IDE

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Tool tips and autocomplete that makes developing faster and easier.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Some shortcuts, like auto filling 2 double quotes slow you down slightly when you want single quotes.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Look on YouTube for tips and tricks, there are tons of shortcuts to use.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Web development. 30% faster development average across the team.

  ### 41. I Couldn't Do My Job Without PhpStorm

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John S. | Senior PHP Developer, Consumer Electronics, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I really enjoy the way it integrates so many features, like Docker, Git, and Databases, With a great project view and wonderful autocomplete, and logic tracing functionality, I would be hard pressed to find something so perfectly matched to my software development needs.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

The down side are you can become too reliant on its features and this may make it hard if you ever have to use another IDE.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

If you find your current IDE slow or difficult to use, I would advice moving over to PhpStorm.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My workflow and ability to work with things like Docker, have become so much easier since using PhpStorm

  ### 42. Thanks to PHPStorm, I write more efficient and clean code.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chechu G. | Perfect simpleness, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Support for composer, docker, Git, Symfony as a plugin... Therefore, any application or framework you use to program your web application will be compatible with this IDE, embedded terminal to be able to perform git by command or directly install or update your composer libraries.... Additionally, you can edit the templates used by the IDE when generating classes, interfaces... To be able to remove the annoying comments at the beginning of the code, and comply with the PSR structure.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

When your project is simply too large and you also manage a bunch of dependencies with the composer, from time to time it becomes unbearable to work due to its long indexing (especially if you work with dockers). In this latter case, if the project takes up a few MBs, you can spend several minutes indexing and lose some time before you can start working. However, it is very rare for this to happen.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

If the license were a bit cheaper (at least for individual users and not for companies), it would be great. PhpStorm is in continuous development, which gives you the confidence that it will be available for some time and is not abandonware. PHPStorm needs more guides and guidance for beginners.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If you configure PHPStorm in an "extreme" way to check all the code, you will probably have several false positives, but it is really useful along with PHPCS and EA Extend to improve your code.

  ### 43. Amazing IDE. Can’t live without it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PhpStorm is magic. It knows the language so well and helps you to autocomplete code, navigate to classes and methods, refactor and reformat code easily. You can ignore folders, integrate with git and coding standards and tests if you’d like, have control over which PHP version. Can’t praise it enough. I wasted so many years coding in Notepad++ and vim

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Not much to say. Some of the integrations are difficult to setup. Sometimes the code doesn’t synchronize automatically. Overall very happy

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Don’t hesitate. It makes PHP coding much faster and efficient, easier to refactor and reformat, much better when working with teams. Well worth the price

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coding PHP and having a better understanding of the code my team is writing and the vendor packages we are using. It has made me a 10x more efficient developer.

  ### 44. PhpStorm the first-class improvement environment for PHP

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Minea A. | PhpStorm o ambiente de melhoria de primeira classe para PHP, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

The best thing about PHPStorm is the ease with which you can build applications. Very good project, auto-completion, and other specific features of the Jetbrains IDE, such as scrolling the scrollbar to see code segments without having to scroll down to see them. The interface is easy to understand, and you can start working quickly after entering the software.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

It is not free software. There are very few similar IDEs on the market that provide support in multiple languages for web development.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

The good interface, not too heavy, works fast. It may be expensive for some, but it's worth the price you pay. There is a slight learning curve and it is expensive, but it's worth it.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is from the same company as IntelliJ and feels similar, so developers who have used it will pick it up especially quickly. This makes the work easier, I use my company's license for all the work I do here. For the full list, see the Pros or Cons section below.

  ### 45. Fast and beneficial PHP IDE

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis H. | Notepad ++: Un éditeur nettement bénéfique; léger mais caractéristique riche!, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PhpStorm is built on the open-source IntelliJ platform. It offers developers extensive functionality to organize the flow between your report dependencies. Additionally, integration with Git could be a success. It has an option to configure plugins that provides considerable ease for builders to design their own applications.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

I can't really think of many things I dislike about PhpStorm after using Eclipse and other evaluations, despite admitting that it's been years since I've even used an IDE without JetBrains. I find it an expensive piece and it hasn't provided excellent support. So, out of memory for large software development.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I could propose it to anyone who wants to improve the PHP environment. Today, the Internet application market is booming. PHPStorm brings many features that make the work very enjoyable. There are daily updates as well.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PhpStorm in particular has made this less difficult. Internet page programming in PHP, agility and simplification as well as version control. Write Laravel code quickly.

  ### 46. Very good editor

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elena H. | Fácil de usar, aunque limitado, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

- In summary, the best thing about this tool is that PhpStorm is very easy to use. It is not free, however, the investment is very small compared to the time saved during usual development tasks, such as compatibility with Laravel and it has good PHP autocomplete.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

- The built-in version handler is good, however, it is stuck somewhere between useful and not quite beneficial enough. Also, take into account that it requires a learning curve to use all its main components and extensible features are steep. The IDE is deadly when your project is very large and you also manage multiple dependencies with composer, from time to time it influences so much that it becomes unbearable to work, however, they are not very often.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

- For those who have not had previous experience with IDE and JetBrains applications, I can say that they are always of the best quality and are well known among large groups of developers. The market for web applications is increasing, and PHPStorm provides many functions to make the work very pleasant.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Your Live Edit feature gives us the opportunity to see all changes instantly in the browser as we code, without refreshing the page. This has taken all kinds of problems off my mind, and with the tool, it has become a very easy task. It is not necessary to be a designer to create screens and applications.

  ### 47. A smart tool to program in PHP

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** jose l. | Great tool for packet capture, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

- Personally, I use all the Jetbrains IDEs; they seem to me the best without a doubt for programming in any language. In this case, at my work, we all have PHPStorm with the paid license. The structural completion and word expansion features are excellent. The interface is easy to understand, and you can start working pretty quickly after getting into the software.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

- Tuve algunos problemas al intentar depurar mi código. Otra cosa que no me gusta es la sintaxis del código en español, no he podido hacer que la escritura natural en español me reconozca como correcta. No hay nada que no me haya gustado del programa hasta ahora.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

- It can be expensive for some, but it's worth the price you pay. This is especially true for full-stack developers as it offers a wide range of very necessary tools. I am using PhpStorm for web development purposes, and so far it has all the major integrations into the IDE with just a few clicks.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has freed my mind from all kinds of hassle as coding with the tool has become a very easy task. It's great not to have consistency problems in the code; we are always up to date. It makes work easy. I use my company's license for every work I do here.

  ### 48. The excellent programming IDE that I used

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaime H. | Amazing & light code editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

- Honestly, all Jetbrains IDEs seem to be of the best quality in their field, but I am loving everything about PhpStorm. The nice thing about PhpStorm is the ease with which you can build packages. In my case, I use it with Symfony and it has a plugin that makes the work easier.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

- It is a bit heavy to use an IDE editor or code, and that's why many people avoid it, but actually, it will save time in the long run. The IDE is crucial when your project is very large and you deal with many dependencies with a composer. Sometimes, the program has a high memory usage and sometimes it gets a bit slow on my computer, usually when I work with large files.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

- Although there is a small cost to purchase the license, I feel that it is worth the money. It is good software, but you really need it. It is easy to manage, with a great community that helps, and several plugins to assist you with your favorite language.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- We are always up to date. Our entire development team is using PHPStorm after years of using other IDEs. We build PHP websites in our company. From now on, we need a well-structured IDE for PHP with support for other web development languages like SASS, HTML, SCSS, CoffeeScript, etc.

  ### 49. The best programming IDE I have used

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose Tomas P. | Lo mejor y peor de notepad++, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

All the usual features of the IDE work well, good error prevention, autocomplete, and search functions. Especially useful for quickly cleaning up contributed or old code to new standards. Although it may seem quite difficult to use (depending on the IDE you come from), once you master its use, it is quite comfortable to use.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

With a client update, a design update, and better memory usage on mobile devices, it can become one of the best IDEs. The downside of PHPStorm is that it can seem a bit difficult to use at first, especially after coding with TextEdit for so long.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Mainly, I recommend this program for mid-level and senior GC developers, not necessarily as the best option for beginners and young people. Although it is not free like some of the IDEs out there, it is definitely worth paying the price as it is one of the best.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PHPStorm for project development. One of the best things it has is the error detection in PHP that it offers.

  ### 50. good

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** jason j. | IT Support Specialist, Computer Hardware, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I like that it is very easy to use, It also supports other front-end languages like Angular.js, React, and jQuery
everytime I need to develop something I use PHPStorm, not only for PHP, even with CSS, and JS,
All their software is worth what they charge because they are familiar with the ease of use and with products that help them develop their solutions as scheduled.
PHP Storm highlights parts of your code and offers shortcuts to change the code and improve it.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

It can take a while to load a project, It does use a bit of memory, but very rarely have had it crash on me,
Although it has very good features, lacks the power to create automatic migrations.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

If you do serious PHP Development, definitely try it.
Price of the high quality product is also a bit high but I bet once a developer start using the features this IDE provide, it worth the high price.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Developing a PHP-based web application in a business environment, PHPStorm has helped us reduce the number of bugs being committed and pushed , Everything is built into the software, terminal, GIT, FTP. There is no need to pay for any other software to take care of those needs
