## About PhpStorm
PhpStorm is a PHP integrated development environment (IDE) developed by JetBrains that provides tools for writing, analyzing, testing, and debugging PHP applications. It is designed for professional PHP developers, full-stack web developers, and software teams building server-side and web-based applications. Common use cases include developing PHP web applications, maintaining legacy systems, working with modern JavaScript frameworks, integrating databases, and managing large or multi-module codebases. PhpStorm supports the PHP development lifecycle within a single environment. It includes context-aware coding assistance, project navigation tools, refactoring capabilities, debugging functionality, and integrations with version control systems and testing frameworks. The IDE runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, providing a consistent development environment across platforms. Key features and capabilities include: • Intelligent code assistance with context-aware completion, syntax highlighting, inspections, quick documentation, and automated refactorings for PHP and related web technologies • Built-in support for PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, and Zend Framework, along with support for HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and templating languages including Twig and Blade • Navigation and project analysis tools that enable search across files, classes, symbols, and usages, supporting work in large or complex codebases • Integrated debugging and testing tools, including breakpoint management, PHPUnit support, and version control integration such as Git • Database and deployment tools, including SQL support, remote interpreters, Docker and Vagrant integration, and built-in terminal access PhpStorm enables developers to manage backend and frontend workflows within a single IDE. By combining language-specific code intelligence with debugging, testing, and deployment support, it provides a structured environment for PHP application development across local and remote environments.

## PhpStorm Reviews
  ### 1. PhpStorm: the essential IDE for PHP developers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose M. | Programador full stack, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2023

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PhpStorm is a high-quality IDE for PHP application development. It offers a wide range of features and useful tools, such as debugging, refactoring, code autocompletion, and support for multiple languages. Additionally, it integrates with many popular PHP frameworks like Symfony, Laravel, WordPress, Drupal, among others.

What I like most about PhpStorm is its ability to enhance developer productivity. The code template functions and context-based code completion are excellent for saving time and reducing errors in code writing. Moreover, the ability to handle large projects without sacrificing performance or stability is impressive.

In summary, I highly recommend PhpStorm to any PHP developer looking for a solid IDE with advanced features that boosts productivity.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Although PhpStorm is a popular IDE among PHP developers, it may not be suitable for everyone. The learning curve can be steep, especially for those who are not familiar with the advanced features of an IDE.

Additionally, the license price can be a barrier for some developers, especially those working on small or personal projects. Although PhpStorm offers a free trial version, it may be insufficient to fully evaluate the tool.

Another potential issue with PhpStorm is that it consumes a lot of system resources, which can slow down the performance of the machine on which it is being used. There may also be compatibility issues with older operating systems or older hardware.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PhpStorm helps solve several common problems that PHP developers may face, including:

Syntax errors and logic problems in the code.
Lack of visibility in the code structure and the relationship between different components of the system.
Difficulties in debugging and troubleshooting the code.
Wasting time writing repetitive code.
Problems maintaining consistency in code style throughout the project.
Lack of compatibility with different frameworks and technologies used in PHP application development.
Problems working in a team and maintaining proper version control of the code.

PhpStorm addresses these issues by providing a comprehensive set of tools and features for PHP application development, including refactoring, debugging, code autocompletion, integration with version control systems, support for multiple technologies and frameworks, among others. This allows developers to write high-quality code more efficiently and collaborate effectively on team projects.

  ### 2. Excellent IDE

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colin V. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2022

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PHPStorm handles code completion, refactoring, and auto-formatting really well. There is also a large community of 3rd party plugins to extend its capabilities.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Licensing costs are high for individuals (unless you are an Open Source developer) ... although you do get what you pay for. It is a bit of a memory and battery hog as well.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

If you are an Open Source developer, look into their free licensing options.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it almost exclusively for my software development (mostly PHP, but in a pinch it does pretty well with HTML/CSS/JS as well). The refactoring features alone have probably saved me several hours (and many headaches).

  ### 3. Really good

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexander C. | Backend developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2021

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

It is a complete IDE, with many plugins that will help you write your code more straightforwardly, easy integration with the PSR standard, and multiple versions of PHP; you have to define which version you will use in each project, and the IDE does the rest, the running and debugging unit tests is also very well implemented

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Perhaps one of the most significant disadvantages that the IDE has is its price, but if you can afford it, it is a super recommended tool; you also have the option of trying it for a few days to see if it meets expectations, another point against is that some plugins are paid separately

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With the IDE, I have developed new projects with the Symfony framework, I have also supported and maintained other projects written in Laravel, being integrated with Git through the console you can work in a more comfortable way since you do not have to navigate between windows to do some things but you can take care of everything from the ide

  ### 4. Neet IDE for PHP projects

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yoyal L. | Back End Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2022

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PhpStorm has a great collection of themes and has many other features among which live templates, Direct deployment to Cpanel and Code Refactoring are some of my favourites.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

It is a bit resource-heavy. Opening about 4 projects consequently eats half of my ram (8 GB).

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building Websites and APIs has been easier with PhpStorm. Code Suggestion and refactoring have made my day-to-day work much easier which clearly reflects on my efficiency.

  ### 5. Super flexible!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2021

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Excellent PHP developer with the most varied features that an IDE should have, making the experience more complete and fluid. The built-in keyboard shortcuts and support for saving files are great.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

I don't see many disadvantages, except that sometimes it slows down when loading larger projects. It also has some features that are not so intuitive.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped us to develop more quickly and without the constant need for a constant proofreader.

  ### 6. Autocomplete save lives (:

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2021

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I love the intuitive interface and the autocomplete function because we are always in a hurry, which saves LOTS of time.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

I didn't have any issues with the software yet (:

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We quickly develop interfaces and the whole team learn to use it very fast.

  ### 7. Great IDE for building PHP application with everything u need within a single window.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2021

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Database client, terminal , git features all at one place . plenty of plugins to play around with and get rich coding experience

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

software is quite heavy on my machine . sometimes running multiple instances hangs the system

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

If u want to build PHP projects with ease , and by taking advantage of intelligence built to make it quicker to code the application u want , then go for it.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using php storm to build complex erp application on php in my company.. having database client , own terminal and many other options to enhance development experience.

  ### 8. The best PHP IDE that exists

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pedro P. | Junior Java Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2020

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I like how easy it is to use and that it is compatible with other languages like jQuery, React, and Angular.js. Also, PHPStorm is not strictly for the PHP language only because I use it for JavaScript and CSS as well. I like the syntax highlighting feature too because it offers suggestions to improve that highlighted part of the code. JetBrains, the developer of PHPStorm, creates products that are worthwhile for their ease of use and the productivity boost they provide to users.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

It uses a lot of memory and sometimes takes a long time to load. But it's not so bad because I have never experienced a crash yet. Also, it's packed with amazing features, but automatic migrations are not one of them.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I am using this IDE as my code editor when writing my HTML, CSS, and PHP codes. PhpStorm is quite intelligent and allows me to increase my productivity many times over.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating web applications using the PHP language in a business environment. This code editor has helped us reduce the errors we are making. Additionally, it has great built-in features like FTP, GIT, and terminal, so there's no need to purchase other software for those.

  ### 9. PHPStorm is an ideal IDE for production-grade PHP applications

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2021

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PHPStorm is a very feature-rich IDE. It's very helpful for working with production-grade PHP applications. Additionally, the JetBrains suite works well across the engineering org as we also use DataGrip -- having consistency across tools is very nice.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

There's a bit of a learning curve (which is true of basically any IDE). Personally I find myself switching between many text editors all day and PHPStorm's keyboard mappings are still the least intuitive to me. I'm sure if I used it exclusively or even much more than I currently do that would be less of an issue.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working with production-level PHP applications, I need a robust IDE to help boost productivity and reduce errors. We use it across our organization. The refactoring and automated features are very helpful.

  ### 10. Best PHP development environment ever

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul M. | System Analist - Datacenter, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2021

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

The possibilities of Remote debugging to another linuxbox

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

For some task is a little heavy, if i just need read code o adjust some config I use other tool

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly when I work hard in coding, for example Moodle Pluging Development. I found pretty easy all that I need

  ### 11. Commercial PHP IDE by Jetbrains

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mary J. | Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

- There is a database view tab on phpstorm which even though is not completely perfect, provides basic and intermediate options for performing Create, Read, Update, and Delete (CRUD) operations on the database that you might be working with,
-Phpstorm offers code inspections for large variety of languages and is not just limited to php but also extends to JavaScript, html and even SQL. For SQL inspection, phpstorm can auto complete your table rows and data.
- Hundreds of very useful and essential plugins are readily available for download on phpstorm. Most of these plugins allow integration with other software development tools such as Microsoft Azure pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes and Amazon Web Services.
- There is integration with Git from right within the IDE and you don't have to install any plugins to use it. Keeping track of file versions and changes is an important aspect of software development and in understanding this, phpstorm developers have tried to make the Git integration feel as native as possible

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

- This is probably one of Jetbrains most resource consuming product because it can easily max out four of your computer's processor cores. It becomes really hard to run it beside other applications especially a browser like chrome which is also unpopular for how it uses up the same resources.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

My key recommendation is that you ensure that the machine on which you intend to run phpstorm has at least 8gb of RAM with a 4 physical cores processor

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using phpstorm to consolidate the php work I do within one platform so that I do not feel the need to switch between applications. For example all the database, Git and frontend work are kept within one medium i.e phpstorm

  ### 12. Premium Integrated Development Environment

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edward O. | Database Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

The code completion found on phpstorm goes beyond just how the editor understands the language being written. Instead, it goes as far as inspecting the entire project and understands the available variables, functions and objects etc. and suggests code auto completions bases on this knowledge. This auto complete design is rather known as word expansion.
Being an IDE, Phpstorm provides support for almost all the commonly used php frameworks like yii,Symphony 2, and Laravel. There's also additional support for javascirpt frameworks such as React and Angular. Most server-side development these days use frameworks especially to achieve certain repetitive tasks that do not need one to reinvent the whole. It is therefore reassuring to know that this IDE understands what the developers needs frequently and carter for that need.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

You can only open one project on one Phpstorm instance at a time. If you need to open another probably to refer to an issue or perform a quick fix before proceeding with your workm, you have to open it in another window of Phpstorm. ANd this is not ideal given the fact that this IDE consumes resources on a computer at a very high rate and two instances of it might end up making your machine unusable. This then calls for the need for a secondary lighter editor.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

First of all remember that this is a paid product and thus you should consider whether the expected returns are worth investing on it. Without thinking about costs, however, this is genuinely an excellent tool that will make your coding and software development life easier.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All of our company;s systems that are built with php or a php framework are developed from phpstorm with a uniform development environment that cuts through the entire team because it's actually a policy.

  ### 13. PhpStorm, the greatest PHP IDE out there.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Niklas M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2020

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I love very much everything about PhpStorm, it is a very natural to use IDE that brings a lot of great features with it. One of the best features given is the auto-complete feature. It is one of the most developed and integrated auto-complete-features I have ever come across in IDEs. Not only simple suggestions are given while you are coding, but even simple and small things like displaying parameter names when using a function. As well you can add more features by adding addons and libraries. For example, when you are working in a framework like Laravel or Symfony there are plenty of libraries you can add to PhpStorm.
But not only the auto-complete-feature is mentionable, but PhpStorm also has an integrated database tool and a VCS in case you are working with a repository service like git.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Even though I really should put in things in here that I do not like, there is not a lot and that is why I am going to keep it short. The only problem I have with PhpStorm is that it is built on java and therefore it is kind of a mess when it comes to memory usage.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Who are you? In case you are a starting freelancer, I think there are other less pricy options than PhpStorm, in case you are a professional company that values efficiency and quality, then PhpStorm is indispensable for you.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since we are working in agile processes in our team, we make use of git and the integration PhpStorm offers is great. Next to that, we are working in the e-commerce branch and frameworks like Shopware and Oxid come to our daily usage. Therefore the auto-complete-feature helped me a lot getting into those frameworks without having to open the documentation every time.

  ### 14. Best PHP development IDE

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Asara K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

One of the best IDE for PHP programming. This is a product from Jetbrains community.I have used this IDE for Laravel developing in my company and this is very user friendly and easy to coding. It includes many multi functions and short keys.Furthermore it supports to the mainly used PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symphony, Wordpress, Magento and Yii.It has reliable, smart coding assistant and facilities to the debugging the codes. We can directly run SQL commands from PHP Storm without using any application.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

The major issue is it takes larger partition of Ram and processor to run the IDE.If your computer has less performance it will be really hard to open and run the IDE.It takes too much time.Besides from those factors PHPStorm is too much expensive.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I think you should have good practice in PHP programming to get the best output from this software. You should have to buy this product after free trial. So that if you are a good developer who earn money from IT projects, price of the IDE won't be a issue.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So far i have completed many client Laravel projects using Phpstorm and it gave me a great support for the coding.I wrote html, css, javascripts, php codes using this IDE.Many developers use this IDE in our company because of its great support for the PHP programming.

  ### 15. A very comprehensive development environment

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Linda G. | Senior Backend Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

like the overwhelming amount of support and helpful tips that you can get from the IDE. First of all, each time you start up the application, there is always a tip on how to make the best use of phpstorm. Most people that i know of turn this feature off but I like to leave it one because I've come to learn on several instances that there far much more about what the IDE can do that I am yet to try out. This gives me the chance to learn about those features.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Phpstorm has so very many features that it becomes overwhelming especially to the newbie user. You're presented with a lot of features so much so that you do not know which ones to try out. Most times, you end up using a very minimal percentage of what the editor has to offer and I think that is not a good thing.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I would advise you to seriously give phpstorm a try because it is an excellent IDE which supports a lot of languages and is especially good for php works.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Phpstorm has made it easy for me to build websites and application by writing, testing and debugging code on it. i write php, javascript and python code on php

  ### 16. An all-round tool for backend development

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elias W. | UI Designer , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Phpstorm is not just a program on which you write lines of codes and then run them. Instead, it is fully integrated with other development tools such as a data handler for any type of database that your application runs on such as mysql.
This IDE makes development more comfortable as it abstracts and implements by default some actions that would otherwise have taken you time to manually configure.
In terms of features, I particularly like the integrated shell/terminal on which you can also run some commands like uploading your website files from within the program.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Phpstorm can be a little intimidating when you begin using it and especially when you are also new to programming. There are so very many features within the app and as a newbie I was a bit confused trying to understand what they all meant and accomplished. Thus I don't think phpstorm is friendly to beginners.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

If most of your development work involves working with php then you should really consider using this IDE. Furthermore, it also supports other languages such as javascript and ruby so well

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use phpstorm to write the PHP code that implements most of the backend functionality of our website and other applications. It has tremendous support for the language and most of its frameworks.

  ### 17. Extremely intelligent PHP IDE

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ochinjo J. | Web Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

There is code inspection of all kinds on phpstorm which is not just limited to php,, html and javascript but also incorporates sql inspections and autocompletion of tables and their columns. This especially gives you the chance to verify that your database structure follows your code rules There is also a dedicated additional tab which while is not very powerful, it gives you the features required for daily usage.
Phpstorm has a an inbuilt debugger, Xdebug, which can even be used for remote debugging.
There are so very many plugins available on phpstorm that can extend the IDE's powers. These plugins are ether from Jetbrains or the community around Phpstorm and

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Besides being very expensive and hence making little sense to startup companies with limited cash, it is also a protected intellectual property that can not be edited to achieve an inidvidual's specific needs.
This IDE has an overcluttered interface that used to scare me as beginner because I did not know what any of those features were about.
Lastly, phpstorm requires a lot of memory to run and it registers slow performance occasionally which can cause disruptions to your work.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

ANyone who works a lot with php language should absoluutely try and make phpstorm their primary IDE

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When working with our applicaiton's backend we use php extensively and particularly the laravel framework. We needed an IDE that provided support for these frameworks and that is how we landed on phpstorm and we've never regretted the decision

  ### 18. The most complete PHP IDE in the market

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lennox o. | Business Development Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

One of the most helpful features of Phpstorm is its intelligent code completion which I've come to love a lot lately. It makes structural code completion suggestions based on its exhaustive understanding of the PHP programming language. Word expansion, which may not be as deep as structural, is also very helpful as it makes completions on the word you're currently typing based on previously typed words.
Phpstorm also supports various php frameworks such as laravel, magento, and symphony; and that comes in handy given that most coding these days is done through frameworks rather than the language in its native form.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

The software uses up a lot computing resources. To begin with, it takes up a considerably large amount of installation space - more than 200mbs. At the same time, when its running, the app uses almost all your computer's cores and a lot of RAM. This makes it less effective for computers with low resource amounts such as a dual core running 2gb of ram. As a developer, you'll be left screaming at your comp most of the time when it starts to hang.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I think you will get the most benefit from using phpstorm if you have intermediate skills in PHP and know how to use IDEs and code editors well enough to reduce your workload. If this is your case then without a doubt go for it. However, this is not to say that beginners should not use the IDE. I think growing your knowledge as you get accustomed to an IDE is also a good way to learn

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PHP is on of the primary back-end languages that we use to build our systems and thus getting an IDE that is specifically oriented for PHP development but not limited to it has been very beneficial to our company.

  ### 19. Best IDE out there

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

and so forth Refactoring was never simple like refactoring in PHPStorm I truly welcome it ordering your task records so you can tap on a class or technique and see whats going on - Refactoring

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

there's nothing to disdain It needs a considerable amount of PC assets You need to restart the IDE on each module update Takes much time to boot from the outset and to file the records.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

On the off chance that you can manage the cost of it, pull out all the stops Learn the console alternate ways Do it. Is my essential IDE, and I will suggest it as the best IDE out there for PHPP

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 21. Fast and beneficial PHP IDE

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis H. | Notepad ++: Un éditeur nettement bénéfique; léger mais caractéristique riche!, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PhpStorm is built on the open-source IntelliJ platform. It offers developers extensive functionality to organize the flow between your report dependencies. Additionally, integration with Git could be a success. It has an option to configure plugins that provides considerable ease for builders to design their own applications.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

I can't really think of many things I dislike about PhpStorm after using Eclipse and other evaluations, despite admitting that it's been years since I've even used an IDE without JetBrains. I find it an expensive piece and it hasn't provided excellent support. So, out of memory for large software development.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I could propose it to anyone who wants to improve the PHP environment. Today, the Internet application market is booming. PHPStorm brings many features that make the work very enjoyable. There are daily updates as well.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PhpStorm in particular has made this less difficult. Internet page programming in PHP, agility and simplification as well as version control. Write Laravel code quickly.

  ### 22. Very good editor

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elena H. | Fácil de usar, aunque limitado, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

- In summary, the best thing about this tool is that PhpStorm is very easy to use. It is not free, however, the investment is very small compared to the time saved during usual development tasks, such as compatibility with Laravel and it has good PHP autocomplete.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

- The built-in version handler is good, however, it is stuck somewhere between useful and not quite beneficial enough. Also, take into account that it requires a learning curve to use all its main components and extensible features are steep. The IDE is deadly when your project is very large and you also manage multiple dependencies with composer, from time to time it influences so much that it becomes unbearable to work, however, they are not very often.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

- For those who have not had previous experience with IDE and JetBrains applications, I can say that they are always of the best quality and are well known among large groups of developers. The market for web applications is increasing, and PHPStorm provides many functions to make the work very pleasant.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Your Live Edit feature gives us the opportunity to see all changes instantly in the browser as we code, without refreshing the page. This has taken all kinds of problems off my mind, and with the tool, it has become a very easy task. It is not necessary to be a designer to create screens and applications.

  ### 23. A smart tool to program in PHP

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** jose l. | Great tool for packet capture, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

- Personally, I use all the Jetbrains IDEs; they seem to me the best without a doubt for programming in any language. In this case, at my work, we all have PHPStorm with the paid license. The structural completion and word expansion features are excellent. The interface is easy to understand, and you can start working pretty quickly after getting into the software.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

- Tuve algunos problemas al intentar depurar mi código. Otra cosa que no me gusta es la sintaxis del código en español, no he podido hacer que la escritura natural en español me reconozca como correcta. No hay nada que no me haya gustado del programa hasta ahora.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

- It can be expensive for some, but it's worth the price you pay. This is especially true for full-stack developers as it offers a wide range of very necessary tools. I am using PhpStorm for web development purposes, and so far it has all the major integrations into the IDE with just a few clicks.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has freed my mind from all kinds of hassle as coding with the tool has become a very easy task. It's great not to have consistency problems in the code; we are always up to date. It makes work easy. I use my company's license for every work I do here.

  ### 24. The excellent programming IDE that I used

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaime H. | Amazing & light code editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

- Honestly, all Jetbrains IDEs seem to be of the best quality in their field, but I am loving everything about PhpStorm. The nice thing about PhpStorm is the ease with which you can build packages. In my case, I use it with Symfony and it has a plugin that makes the work easier.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

- It is a bit heavy to use an IDE editor or code, and that's why many people avoid it, but actually, it will save time in the long run. The IDE is crucial when your project is very large and you deal with many dependencies with a composer. Sometimes, the program has a high memory usage and sometimes it gets a bit slow on my computer, usually when I work with large files.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

- Although there is a small cost to purchase the license, I feel that it is worth the money. It is good software, but you really need it. It is easy to manage, with a great community that helps, and several plugins to assist you with your favorite language.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- We are always up to date. Our entire development team is using PHPStorm after years of using other IDEs. We build PHP websites in our company. From now on, we need a well-structured IDE for PHP with support for other web development languages like SASS, HTML, SCSS, CoffeeScript, etc.

  ### 25. The best programming IDE I have used

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose Tomas P. | Lo mejor y peor de notepad++, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

All the usual features of the IDE work well, good error prevention, autocomplete, and search functions. Especially useful for quickly cleaning up contributed or old code to new standards. Although it may seem quite difficult to use (depending on the IDE you come from), once you master its use, it is quite comfortable to use.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

With a client update, a design update, and better memory usage on mobile devices, it can become one of the best IDEs. The downside of PHPStorm is that it can seem a bit difficult to use at first, especially after coding with TextEdit for so long.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Mainly, I recommend this program for mid-level and senior GC developers, not necessarily as the best option for beginners and young people. Although it is not free like some of the IDEs out there, it is definitely worth paying the price as it is one of the best.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PHPStorm for project development. One of the best things it has is the error detection in PHP that it offers.

  ### 26. Big tool with intuitive interface

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryszard B. | Front-end Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

After job change I needed to switch to PhpStorm. In my previous workplace I was using on Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code. I thought that change will be hard, but to be honest I hadn't any bigger issues with this change. To sum up, the best thing in this tool is that PhpStorm is very user friendly.
Other nice thing is that PhpStorm has built-in dark mode. In my opinion this is very comfortable when you need to coding for whole days.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

In my opinion key shortcuts were better in Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code. Other thing is that search has sometimes problems with find something.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

If you need tool with lots of possibilities in programming, thing about PhpStorm. Nice interface, not to heavy, works quick. Good tool for front-end developers. Easy to dive in. Additional plus - built in emmet support.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My daily work is connected with big project, which has hundreds of different files written in languages like SCSS, handlebars.js and JavaScript. PhpStorm goes smoothly with all kind of these technologies, so I can be focused on programming work and don't need to worry about other things, like syntax colors or right code formatting.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michal F. | Michal Fierla, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I like the best the autocomplete function and autosync with FTP. It supports a wide range of frameworks, including Symfony, Drupal, WordPress and Joomla! so whatever you’re designing for, you can stick with your favorite software. You can write that code in a broad range of technologies, including HTML5, CSS, Emmet and Javascript, and still use refactoring and debugging, and see instant changes with Live Edit.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

It is written in Java, so it can be slowly.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using PhpStorm for developing and deployment projects to our clients.

  ### 30. Good IDE for Web Development

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

There are lots of features that can increase efficiency and quality if you specialize in PHP, html, and JavaScript development.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Its a very heavy program, It takes a while to set up and learn how to use some of the more advanced features. It also isn't the most lightweight in terms of load speeds.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

It is a quality IDE and I would recommend it to all full stack web developers

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use PhpStorm for development of all of our website back-ends. It is really easy to integrate Xdebug which has helped to quickly solve issues with code.

  ### 31. Moving from notepad to PHPStorm

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

We liked the complete integration of PHP directly into the IDE for a full dev experience. It simply a lot the workflow with the ability to code, test, run and deploy app directly from the IDE.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

The license pricing is a bit high and sometime the app ca use a lot of ram and can become an issue on some workstation.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time-related benefits are the most important ones. With the ease-of-use of the IDE we can code, test and deploy more quickly than ever.

  ### 32. The best way to easly do your development

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gianluca G. | Marketing Technology Expert, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

The best user interface on a IDE and the best way to indexing your projects.
Friendly way to project, develop and deploy your projects, on every server type.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Too many options, and too hard how to resolve the way to change a behaviour of IDE (I have always searched on Stackoverflow or JetBrains community).

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A better way to develop and deploy my projects on a modern and friendly interface.

  ### 33. Best IDE for web development

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amit P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PhpStorm has two types of autocompletion : structural completion and word expansion .
Structural completion makes prediction based on its understanding of PHP , while the latter tries to predict the word currently typed based on previously typed word . Word expansion also works in comments and docstrings . Both types of autocompletion works extremly well and quite fast when loading the suggestions . It is also good for SQL inspection and autocompletion of tables and fields . Also has support for Xdebug including remote debugging .

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

It is not a free software . A very slow indexing , large projects after some time will be very slow . And also interface is sometimes slow and buggy .

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

PhpStorm is developed continually , which gives confidence that it will be available for some time and it is not abandonware .

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us to save building and integrating libraries for testing RESTful web services .It also enables testpoint without leaving testspace and without disrupting the workflow .

  ### 34. Best IDE for programming in PHP

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rodrigo R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PHPStorm is very well organized. It offers code inspection, which helps you identify problems right from the start, such as missing a comma, semicolon, spelling mistakes, empty statements and even logical errors. Offers code completion to help you finish faster.

It has a very nice user interface, which allows you to easily navigate and find what you are looking for. The setup menu is well designed and it is easy to find the configuration you are looking for. Setting up an FTP, SFTP or FTPS server is quick and easy, so it connects to a database. It also offers completed SQL, if you have it connected to your SQL database, and it also checks your SQL queries for errors.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

When searching for uses of a function or method, there is no option to filter out the uses found by the arguments used in the calls (I often look for uses of a certain optional argument that I need to change or remove from the function statement), so to find them I have to click on each use, even if there are dozens of them in addition to the fact that I have noticed that it uses enough ram memory and can slow down other processes.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

PhpStorm is the best IDE for PHP development, without hesitation. It integrates with all the necessary tools (git, debugger, etc). Highly recommended.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PHPStorm has been a very good experience and has helped to complete PHP related projects faster and more effectively, thus minimizing costs.

  ### 35. Best IDE for PHP on the market

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

It has a large repository of plugins that cover almost everything needed for web development in general, not just PHP. It also has very good support for Javascript. Regarding search capability, it is quite decent. Integrated options for client-side debugging. It has integration with git and JIRA (with plugins), and can help switch between JIRA issues/tasks, git branches, and time tracking.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Sometimes it uses a good amount of RAM. I'm not sure why, but some projects also cause the CPU to become saturated. If you have a powerful enough PC, this shouldn't be a problem. I have run several instances with 4 GB of RAM and there is no problem. Get the 64-bit version that has more memory.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

It is a stable IDE that has all the current features of an IDE, making it a very competitive program.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this IDE to develop projects for clients. One of the most important things was the ability to export/import the IDE configuration, so all team members would have exactly the same setup, making it easy to work as a team with the same codebase.

  ### 36. One of the best IDS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paco G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Finding errors is key for any software, and the ability to use a PHP debugger is an essential requirement, especially for someone new to PHP, exactly what PhpStorm offers in a simple way. It has git integration and many additional packages. It supports Symfony2 (including Twig and Doctrine), Yii, and Laravel.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

There are so many customization options that it might be complicated to customize the editor. It seems somewhat slower than other similar products. It is not very lightweight, has a slow learning curve, and is not very easy to use; it may require complex or tedious customization. Indexing is slow, there are many memory leaks, and large projects will become very slow over time; opening large files, like 10 MB, can even crash the IDE.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Take your time to get used to it before using it for a real project.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Everything is integrated, terminal, GIT, FTP. There is no need to pay for any other software to cover those needs.

  ### 37. had wonderful experience woth the tool

It is very nice tool and development environment for coders . It can be easily understood by any new user. Its features and user experience is self explantory.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Its ui and color scheme does not give the user a fresh feel as the theme used is very basic. There should be option for changing theme from a variety of themes.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using the tool for development in my organisation and it has solved many problems. It has made my mind freenfrom all kinds of hassle as coding with the tool has become a very easy task

**Reviewed by:** Roberta A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2018

In my opinion, the excellent feature of PhpStorm is its extremely good graphical interface. It is software with quite a few tools that help the developer, and it also has a remarkable community behind it.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

What I like least about PhpStorm is its learning curve; if you've never used the environment, it might be difficult to adapt to it.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I could propose it to anybody who desires a PHP development environment.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You could make web pages and web applications with PHP.

  ### 40. PhpStorm Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** luis C. | Desarrollador web, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I have been using PHPStorm for 2 years. I had a free license when I was an undergraduate student and I used it for my final year project and also during my internship. It has great theme options (Darcula is the one I like the most). I have used the Laravel framework and it does its job very well. Additionally, the interpretation options are very straightforward.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

It has too many features, which makes the loading a bit slow.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

The autocomplete functions combined with ease of use really allow you to develop quickly and focus on the code in question instead of trying to make the program work.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a software developer and I use PHP most of the time. PHPStorm is more than sufficient for developers to completely resolve the IDE issue. I suggest all developers try PHPStorm.

  ### 41. Good php editor

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordi G. | Programador sénior, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

The IDE provides smart code completion, syntax highlighting, extended code formatting configuration, on-the-fly error checking, code folding, supports language mixtures and more. Automated refactorings that treat your code with care, helping to make global project settings easily and safely.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Background Tasks Performance - some background tasks like checking code changes make the program to stuck, which hurts the experience. It's is pretty slow to start up and it costs a lot of memory.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

I highly recomend using PhpStorm if you want fast coding, high integrity and compatible software! supporting almost all web development technologies! let you focus on the code not the environment!

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps our company build an aplication with php . We can debug with the IDE and help us perform our tasks and code faster, without paying too much attention to the configurations.

  ### 42. Easy to use editor for code, but it can get really slow and clunky a lot of the time.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

PHPStorm has a pretty good global search and file search that makes it really easy to jump across multiple areas of a huge codebase. It also has a lot of useful extra features that allow you to do things like use your terminal, resolve merge conflicts, and check code syntax correctness all inside the application.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

The downside of having all these features is the amount of processing power it uses and its speed. PHPStorm can get incredibly slow and laggy while it updates indexes (for global search), and some features are also locked during the index update. Having a better way to control when exactly indexes update could be beneficial here.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PHPStorm helps engineers stay productive by giving them the tools they need to understand and modify the codebase.

  ### 43. pstorm

  ### 44. Phpstorm professionally

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

If we talk about the best thing that phpstorm can offer you, it is undoubtedly the professionalism of the application. It provides thousands of possibilities when it comes to web programming. You can instantly execute the developed code and view it through its own "browser." Without a doubt, it is simple and agile as a programming application.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

The main drawback that can be observed in PhpStorm is primarily the issue of the license; it is a paid development software, therefore it has an additional cost, especially when compared to other web development programs such as NetBeans, Eclipse (although it is not solely focused on web development).

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

If you can afford the license, it is one of the best web development software.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Above all, conducting tests of code snippet insertion for web pages, which have been developed mainly for ecommerce pages for large companies such as Bandai Namco, Square Enix, etc.

  ### 45. The best IDE ever!

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I'm using PhpStorm for more than 18 months!! it's my favorite PHP IDE ever!
It provides the most tools the developer may need for development! Database browser, Remote host browser, and all customizations amazing integrity and compatibility with most components and technologies.
I like the kaymap and new features for the keyboard! like multiple lines selection
You don't have to worry about missing features or tools! because thousands of plugins is available in the repository

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

it costs a lot of memory and it takes some time to index project files!
every time you start the application you have to wait for indexing it depends on the hugeness of your project.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Use PhpStorm if you want fast coding, high integrity and compatible software! supporting almost all web development technologies! let you focus on the code not the environment!

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Things are much simpler with PhpStorm, debugging PHP code using xdebug wasn't that easy without PhpStorm! now you can inspect a specific line of code and check local variables, not to mention the intermediate window!
using PhpStorm you can perform your tasks and code faster, without paying too much attention to the configurations and deployment, all you need set your configurations and go

  ### 46. A great IDE for developing in PHP

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Javier S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

One of its best qualities is that we can apply code style configurations across our entire team. The code inspection tools are invaluable and not available elsewhere. Additionally, the user-friendly interface is the best part of this IDE.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Sometimes, the IDE flickers, and sometimes indexing runs for a long time, causing high CPU usage. And loading certain projects can be somewhat slow.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

Ideal for developing in PHP

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Develop and build new APIs, as well as clean debugging of the PHP backend

  ### 47. Really Cool Editor

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2019

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

I like that PHPStorm allows for lots of plugins. There are not many IDE's that a;llows as many useful plugins such as PHPStorm

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

At times on my machine, it has at times taken awhile to open up and this may be because PHPStorm is a heavier application.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used it to build many of my clients' sites from scratch.

  ### 48. Backend/Front End Developer, have been using this product through multiple versions.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew R. | Social Media Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2018

**What do you like best about PhpStorm?**

Comfortable and intuitive, It has a built in terminal and if you need you can run multiple terminal sessions at a time. Easy to setup VCS, and setup projects to fit your desired load-out. Windows can be opened up outside of the main screen in order to accommodate multiple screen setups. PhpStorm is now on a monthly pay model so you can constantly get updates and improvements as time goes on.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

Copy/Paste bugs have plagued this application across multiple versions. There is no rhyme or reason for when they start to happen, suddenly your copy commands whether it be a keyboard short cut or mouse click do not take effect. The only way to mitigate this is by restarting the application.

When you make some project level changes sometimes PhpStorm will struggle to re-index every file causing the CPU to bog down.

**Recommendations to others considering PhpStorm:**

As long as you are ok with a subscription based software I think you will enjoy this application for web application development.

**What problems is PhpStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Doing backend and front end development and maintenance over the many projects my company has. Overall this application performs very well sans what I said in the "dislike" section. For the most part PhpStorm is very much out of the way and lets you do the things you need to do.

**What do you dislike about PhpStorm?**

When you have many things processing like a database, project explorer, coding, splitting the file in two, certain lag starts to appear.
