"Fast Load Times, Brilliant AI Search, and Easy Asset Management in PhotoShelter"
4.5/5
What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?

PhotoShelter has been a great place for us to collate all of our video and photography in one spot. Compared with our previous software, the faster load times in PhotoShelter are really noticeable. As soon as we open a folder, the images are there straight away, which helps keep our workflows moving quickly and means the platform doesn’t slow our team down. The AI search is also unbelievably good. It has saved us time as we no longer need to add lots of tags to our images, instead we can use the AI search as it quickly and accurately picks out objects/activities in the image. The overall system is easy to use and the support from the team has always been great whenever we've had any questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?

I find the difference between Collections and Galleries less intuitive than hoped. For a start, the two words mean the same thing, so it's already confusing to explain to our new users. I think simplifying this approach would be really beneficial. Make it really clear where the photo physically exists, and then also make it really clear that when it is in a 'Gallery' that it isn't another copy of that image, but instead links back to the original, so each photo only exists once, only has one reference number and one location. "Not Enough Flexibility or Efficiency for Viewing/Sharing Permissions"
2/5
What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?

I appreciate that the metadata is stored with each file, that you can see which folder(s) each photo is located in, and that you can organize a photo into multiple project folders without having duplicate files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?

The sharing permissions are extremely finicky, they're difficult to set up and to maintain. It seems like every time I add new content to a folder that a specific user group is supposed to be able to access at every level, they can't see any of the new content and I have to completely reset permissions for the whole project folder. I've asked customer service reps to help me troubleshoot this, and they patched over the issue with a "bandaid" solution that worked for the few folders we were looking at, but did not provide a long-term solution. Overall, it's very difficult to grant viewing and downloading permissions without either making everything public or making everything private. We work with external vendors frequently and want to be able to share certain photo albums with them without having them made public to anyone, and the Lightbox feature is too clunky. Lightboxes also seem to require individual permissions settings to view/download each photo, rather than one setting for the whole Lightbox. There's so much room for improvement with sharing features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortlessly Manages Our Digital Archive"
5/5
What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?

I love how PhotoShelter for Brands keeps all of our images in a concise, single location that is easily searchable for many departments, allowing coworkers to find their own images without having to ask our photo staff for assistance. I appreciate the ease of the platform and how it is easy to use and customize to our needs. It makes designing a layout and implementing it easy for our photo team to keep a universal workflow, which is crucial since we handle hundreds, if not thousands, of images each week. The initial setup was very easy, partly because of my existing familiarity with the product from previous roles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?

If invited users could change the sorting order on their end without affecting the sorting order for other users, that would be very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"PhotoShelter Streamlined Our Workflow with Strong Support"
5/5
What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?

Photoshleter has significantly improved our workflow and made it much easier for us to access the photo library we already have. It’s also given us the opportunity to build and grow our first DAM smoothly, and we’ve been able to do that with ease thanks to the team’s strong support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?

Photoshelter is incredibly customizable for whatever your needs are. That flexibility is a big plus, but it can also feel overwhelming if you don’t already have some background in how DAMs work and how to use them to your advantage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for Asset Storage, Needs Navigation Improvements"
3.5/5
What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?

I appreciate that PhotoShelter for Brands lets me store InDesign files, PDFs, and other kinds of media, which is great. I also like having a thumbnail view because it's much more visual and intuitive compared to our current SharePoint system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?

There's some UX navigations that are currently pretty confusing for me -- collections vs. galleries, and the public vs private links. Would love for these to be more intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love how PhotoShelter for Brands makes it easier to organize photos for our university. It helps us find the photos we need faster and keeps them organized. I really appreciate the AI search feature. Sometimes our photos aren't tagged the way we search for them, so the AI search helps with that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?

It is not always sorted by year, and sometimes photos that are old pop up when we don't want them to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Asset Management with Room for Improvement"
4.5/5
What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?

I really enjoy the look and feel of PhotoShelter for Brands more than anything else; it significantly enhances the aesthetic experience while using it. The workspace feature is another aspect I appreciate a lot. It not only makes my work more enjoyable but also simplifies processes for others by reducing the need for frequent photo requests. The simplified usage prevents people from being overwhelmed, especially when dealing with specific requests, making the platform user-friendly and not perceived as overly complex or daunting. Overall, these aspects have greatly improved my workflow and ease of use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?

The search bar and searching of tags in PhotoShelter for Brands is not intuitive. Users often give up after a few tries as it is not as effective as expected, particularly with AI. It feels repetitive with images, and there should be a simpler way to eliminate or not display duplicate images. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to share pictures"
4.5/5
What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?

I work in a state university, so there's a really large amount of images that are shared between different groups, with different levels of access for different images. PhotoShelter helps keep track of everything and provides a great point of access for our image library. AI-assisted search also helps find images that aren't labelled properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?

I would like for it to be easier to search for images. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
