## PhotoShelter for Brands Reviews
  ### 1. Digital Assest Management with Libris

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin H. | Content Specialist - Photography/Videography , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

For me the most useful feature in Libris is the gallery permissions. Being able to create and control access to images and limit download size and view only permissions is great for sharing and proofing to different campus clients. Also the integration with Photo Mechanic speeds up my workflow and allows me to get images into Libris very quickly.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Depending on parent folder permission sometimes added permissions to sub-folders can be a little tricky. In our system we break down by category first and then academic year second so giving permission at the parent folder level can make it harder to add at the individual gallery level within the year folder, but it was easy to work around.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to share more photos with more campus clients faster while keeping control of the images and who has what. In the past we would share full galleries without being able to limit or monitor what was downloaded. Now we have a much better grasp on who has what images and have a much better chance to avoiding overuse of certain images. We also have a better way of keeping certain images out of mass circulation while still allowing to show people what we have stored up for special uses.

  ### 2. Great DAM!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandie D. | Graphic Designer II, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Libris is one of the more important decisions about workflow that I've been able to be a part of. It has made archiving and researching our vast library of photos incredibly easy! Searching for assets is easy and intuitive, the user interface is clean and straightforward, and we love it! The library is online, where any members of my organization or community can use it with ease. And more importantly, it's taken the burden of searching for photos off my plate, allowing me to focus on other projects.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Sometimes uploading is slow, but not to the point where I give up on the process. These are huge files being uploaded, so it's understandable there'd be some lag. There was a little bit of a learning curve when it came to meta tagging, and establishing the meta tagging policy. It is a bit expensive, but that's comparing it to my organization using free-only solutions for asset management in the past.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

If you're looking for a no-brainer, easy solution to asset management, Libris would be the right pick for you.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before, our digital photos were archived on a network drive with redundant backups going to a portable hard drive. When others requested a specific photo, the responsibility of finding that photo would rely on one person's memory or (hopefully) good file organization in order to locate it. Now, everyone can access the Libris portal and find their own photos based on tags or date/month.

  ### 3. Great for workflow in the athletic digital media space

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle N. | Associate Athletic Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Libris has been a tremendous addition to our photo archival and in-game digital coverage. We are able to quickly send file photos to media outlets who requested them without downloading, resizing, and sending items via e-mail as was the way of the past.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Libris' price points vary from school to school, so it's a real point of contention with offices around the country knowing other schools pay significantly less than you do. This might be a rare circumstance that's highly personable to me, but I have talked to others in our industry who have different price points for the same level of storage and access as we do. These are never easy conversations to have when you deal with shrinking budgets.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

When working in environments where the internet connectivity is strong, the system works much more seamlessly than in environments where internet connectivity is lacking. Our photographers can upload in real-time and that really opens up the software's capability. Also, the tagging platform is very well done and well worth the time required to go back in and attribute your photos.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our ability to share real-time content would not be possible without Libris. It also makes archiving and supplying imagery to media outlets very easy.

  ### 4. Asset Management and Sharing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryan M. | Director of Marketing, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Simple to use, secure and scalable platform. Out of all I have researched, reviewed and tested, this was the best by far for our needs.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Moving content from search results to a Gallery. Have to go back and forth. Could use a cart type feature as well to add assets to and download all at once especially when you are getting assets from different galleries.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

It is a breeze to work with, sharing couldn't be easier, single sign-on is a huge plus (one of the determining factors of us using the platform), it loads fast, search is simple, it has all the things you need to be able to store, search and share, all-in-all it is a big time savor on our marketing department.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have the ability to organize and share our assets, all in one area, with our customers and the controls to grant or limit access to user groups or individuals. It really makes our lives easier to be able to give access to assets and not have to field email after email and the many phone calls for requests from dealers and reps. And single sign on makes it even better when we use this in conjunction with our B2B portal.

  ### 5. Awesome

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2020

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

I like the opportunity for networking + the ability to grow and learn

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Nothing, I liked it all. I wish there was more of a panel type thing

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’ve realized the benefits of networking and how important it is to grow a brand

  ### 6. Easy to use + mobile-friendly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Olivia Ann H. | Social Media Specialist, Public Relations and Communications, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

I love that this database is mobile-friendly, as the previous system we were using did not have mobile-friendly capabilities. This has been a game-changer for my job and I use this software almost daily, even on the weekends.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Sometimes I have trouble finding photos I need. This could be our photographers still figuring out the categorization system they want to use. Working on a university campus, we have many varied needs for this type of software.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

The mobile-friendly capabilities of Libris are a huge benefit for users! The organization system is quite extensive, which can be helpful when you're working with multiple departments on campus and people may have different needs.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need to house a large database of millions of photos - and Libris has been much more streamlined and efficient than the previous system we were using. The fact that it's mobile-friendly has been a huge help in my day to day workload. The file transfer from camera to Libris has also been a huge help in situations where someone from the social media team is not able to be physically present at an event in order to pull photos straight from the photographer's camera.

  ### 7. Photo flow and our nonprofit digital newsroom

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John J. | Deputy Photo Editor/Operations Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

We're the news organization of record for the entire state of Texas. Our small in-house staff of photographers and photo editors is augmented by a large roster of freelance photographers all across the state. With Libris, we enjoy both a flexible, reliable place to upload and a rock-solid place to keep our hi-rez file. Search is robust, file structure is logical, and Libris is friendly with every shooter-side platform I know of.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

There's nothing I dislike, but I do have a small wishlist: I'd like to be able to narrow search to specific galleries; I wish I could study photos more closely on admin side in Photoshelter; and I wish it notified freelancers via email (as it does us) when photos are uploaded. Occasionally, in iffy internet situations (not uncommon for a variety of reasons), that extra notification would be useful and reassuring.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most, but far from all, of our Photoshelter use is editorial, but we've successfully adapted it to our marketing needs, our extensive slate of events, our annual Festival ... even our in-house documentation of our workplace.

  ### 8. German PhotoShelter Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2020

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Quick Access to photos, especially remotely

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Can't see many pictures at once, makes it hard to follow.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

Easier to see multiple photos at once.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to share pictures quickly, remotely

  ### 9. "get the necessary tools to share photos using Libris"

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allison P. | Account Manager, Accounting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

I like it because you can make all kinds of modifications thanks to this great tool it is easy to use and it is very useful to save our files and photographs. In addition you can easily access from anywhere to download them and send them to friends, family or co workers. The page has very simple features when uploading files. It is spectacular what you can do using Libris.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

I value this tool a lot due to its large storage capacity is very practical and recommended, I do not have problems using it and you can make modifications to your photographs.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed to store my photos and documents in an easy-to-use place. This tool is very useful because I can share all my files with my clients and my colleagues for a better understanding. Libris makes it possible to create storage strategies for my company and for me.

  ### 10. Libris for our University

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chioke B. | Photographer & Multimedia Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2018

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

The best thing about Libris for us is the ability it gives us to distribute images and visual files to folks one and off campus.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

The thing that we like least is the fact that it isn't as user-friendly as I think it could be. I often get calls from people who simply could not figure out how to navigate the site.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

Libris is a wonderful tool and is recommended for large businesses or universities who need a great deal of control over their visual assets.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem that Libris has solved for our university is in image distribution. We needed a secure way to deliver images and Libris really delivers in that area. It's been a huge benefit also in that I can allow us to deliver images even from home.

  ### 11. Luis here!

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2020

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Interconnectivity services and publishing platforms

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Lack of plug-in for Capture One Pro, one of the leading applications for digital photo development

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So far none, I'm considering using it

  ### 12. Easy to use interface, very great for public or private collections.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2020

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

That we can have publicly available collections as well as private collections. I like the search and indexing function as well, as it makes it nice for larger collections of photos and images.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

There is nothing I dislike about PhotoShelther for brands.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

It's a great tool, and definitely worth the investment. There are other free options, but the support in PhotoShelter is definitely worth the investment.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to have for-sale images as well as download for free options, side-by-side.

  ### 13. Sports photographer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2020

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

I like how easy it is to use photoshelter

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Sometimes hard to share links to galleries

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

It helps organize photos in real time

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organizing our digital archive

  ### 14. Great to have your data backed up.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Conny L. | Senior Designer for User Experience and Web, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

I appreciate the fact that my assets are being backed up, and I can easily share them with others. It's a convenient way to share promotional photos with my organization.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

The name is misleading - it sounds like a library-exclusive product. I also don't particularly like the branded portal - the UI isn't easy to navigate. I wish it was easier to find copyright information, and how to credit photographers.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

Have an accessible demo online - not just on request, not just a video.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have tried Flickr and Office 365 online drive to share our images. It's not easy, as we have so many different needs for the photos - some should be internal only, some external, some shared with certain stakeholders only. Libris enables us to handle the internal images.

  ### 15. Libris has a very intuitive interface and is great for managing large amounts of images

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

I like the organizational aspect of Libris, and how you are able to create lightboxes and share them with others. I also like that it can be integrated with design programs.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Perhaps I just haven't figured it out, but it would be great to be able to select multiple photos (thumbnails) and download, instead of downloading one by one.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows for easy access to photo assets for our clients, as well as the ability to add photos.

  ### 16. A great tool for managing your photo assets

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mary Beth F. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2020

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

The ease of searching for and organizing photos, and of being able to share them with others.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

I haven't found any downsides yet to using Libris!

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

A great tool for your photo library needs!

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Libris is making it easier for us to collect and catalog photos from multiple users throughout our institution. For the first time, we have a handle on all the great imagery being created and access to it for a variety of needs.

  ### 17. Flexible Asset Management Solution That Meets Our Needs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

The system is easy to use and the implementation team was very helpful in guiding us through the purchase.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

We implemented the Libris product during a transition time for Photoshelter. During that transition, several licensing changes were made and it was difficult to manage the scope and cost of our implementation.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our Marketing/Communications team was struggling with management and distribution of our digital assets. Libris helped to solve this issue.

  ### 18. Excellent Asset Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2020

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Security and strong customization of archive.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Not much difference than regular Photoshelter at 500% price increase.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

I don't believe there is another product out there with similar capabilities.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DAM strategy.

  ### 19. Libris is vital to our workflow

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan M. | Freelance Photojournalist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Libris has made our DAM a thousand times more efficient. We're able to catalog and share images with ease. What used to take hours now only takes minutes.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

There's really not much I don't like about Libris, but anytime I do have an issue, the Libris team is ready to listen and offer solutions or take note for future improvements.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

If you're considering Libris, I recommend taking that leap. But, you have to fully commit. You won't see the benefits if you don't put in the time to set it up correctly.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Libris we're guaranteed an archive of images that is highly searchable and backed up to the cloud. It provides of peace of mind.

  ### 20. Life is so much easier with Photoshelter

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessi H. | Owner / Photographer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

We needed a central location to house the thousands of images we provide to our customers each year. The best part are the privacy settings so that each customer only sees their images. It's also so easy to share!

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

When sharing images with customers, they are only able to download one image at a time. We've been promised that the capability of multiple downloads is in the works.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So much time is being saved!!! The upload process is so much faster than our previous system. We were also having to store images in multiple locations for multiple customers. We are now able to store all of our assets in one location.

  ### 21. Great Functionality at a Great Price

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charles L. | Creative Assets Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2018

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

I like that Libris allows the user to show a publicly viewable librarywith watermarked imagery to those who may be browsing the library and may not be sure if they are ready to download assets. This keeps the commitment level at a minimum while still allowing access.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

I don't really have much that I dislike about Libris. If I had to pick one thing, it would be the limited support for videos and video thumbnails. If I want to add a video to my library and add a thumbnail, I have to place an image into the section with it to have a thumbnail image.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

Expect to save money, but if your primary file format is video, consider that you will have to manually enter data for each file.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to house all of our visual assets and share them from one place all for a lower price than our previous service.

  ### 22. Responsive Customer Support & Innovating, Emerging Tech

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

The real-time photo uploader during live events has been very impactful on our event attendees

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

I would like to have more templates for the overall look, design, and UX for a front-end user. On the back-back end, I would like to be able to assign a digital asset collection or gallery to a company for them to upload their digital assets we use on a regular basis for events in a simple way. Currently, it takes a lot of hand-holding to allow our over 150 supplier sponsors to do this. I'd also LOVE to see a facial recognition plug-in be added to help on the back end with tagging members.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

Have at least 2 - 3 people prepared to spend time uploading and organizing your photos at first. That is the one part of our transition we could have done better in terms of being more prepared for all we had to do. Also, have Libris train your photographers. We attempted to do that on our own for the real-time upload and we had some issues.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Immediate access to photos for attendees, multi-channel uploads from a variety of staff/photographers in lieu of having to plug in and upload assets, creating our own photo channel in lieu of Flickr style SaaS.

  ### 23. Great Cloud Platform for Managing Digital Assets

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Libris is a cloud hosted service, we do not require a VPN and or access to the On Prem environment to use it. This saves us a lot of maintenance and headaches, throughout the years. Libri's customer service is also top notch, they are very responsive and willing to help. I believe customer service is 50 percent of the puzzle for SAAS products.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Although, Libris does have integration with Azure Active Directory it's very limited. We are not able to assign, library users to certain security group via active directory. For a hosted applications, this I would consider this a major flaw, due to the fact that managing a single database saves a lot of time and headaches. It's also very important for business continuity.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

If you want a reliable and cloud hosted digital asset management system, I would recommend Libris. Please, be sure to thoroughly ask about single sign implementation and how they work before marrying yourself to the platform. The way it's implemented(single sign on and permissions), may not be for everyone.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves our user training needs for accessing a closed/private digital asset management system. We would have needed to train staff on how and when to use a VPN to access our old D.A.M.

  ### 24. Excellent platform for sharing images and files.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gary N. | Digital Marketing, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

One of the best features is the ability to quickly share galleries, with large files throughout the company and with suppliers. Libris helps you distribute all available assets by providing a wealth of options when it comes to using the most up-to-date images. The management reports are excellent, you can monitor the records and downloads of accounts to control which assets have the greatest demand. Also granting permission rights to users is very easy and efficient.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Everything has been very easy, since we used this tool there has been no problem.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

It is a great software that has a variety of management applications and file sharing. It is a great affordable tool, especially for small and medium businesses. Customer service is great. Libris listens to suggestions and is always making improvements. The user interface, the speed and detail of the search functions and the control of access to images is a big improvement. Libris exceeds expectations and provides additional solutions.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Libris allows the team to work more efficiently and share files and assets more effectively without the need to exchange third-party files. It has incredible features and very easy to use that allows you to organize images and documents in the library in a simple way, and you can access them easily and very securely. Another benefit is the great advantage of saving time and emails, as users can find the exact image they are looking for without much effort.

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Photoshelter has made working with our off-site graphic designer much easier. We used to have to upload images to his FTP (which didn’t always work smoothly) or have him come to the office to transfer data via an external hard drive. Now we just select however many files we need to send him, push a button and he receives an email with a link to download all of the files. We send other large file types through Photoshelter, too (PPTs, PDFs, audio and video files, etc.). It makes the process much more efficient.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

I wish we were able to set permissions for a tagger on the backend of Libris. We have some assets that we can't upload because they contain sensitive data that not all employees should access.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our team has been using it for a little more than 2 years. We wanted a solution that allowed us to quickly tag photos with keywords so that we could find them with ease later. We also wanted something where we could send large digital assets to vendors, contractors and other people outside of the organization.

  ### 26. Libris is a great asset for professional photographers.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

I manage the digital assets for University of North Carolina Wilmington and after introducing Libris to the campus community as a way to find needed images for their marketing projects has allowed more time for myself to cover more events and time shooting verses responding to requests for needed images.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Libris is geared more towards the professional photographers needs verses a company with an in-house multimedia department. I am the photography services manager for UNCW. Our clients are faculty of our university and I use Libris as a way to share our digital assets with the various marketing people around campus. The Lightbox tool doesn't really offer a great way to share, compare and distribute assets as needed.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The big problem Libris has solved is how to affectively show, distribute and search for our digital assets from a department of 1 person who also needs to spend more time capturing the assets. The benefits of Libris are definitely time management for my position and allowing myself to concentrate more on capturing assets verse distributing them. Another benefit I like is the promotion possibilities I can create through Libris (slideshows, social media, and front facing main image on my libris account)

  ### 27. Works great for our team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin K. | Owner, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Libris has been very functional for our team, this is our first DAM and has met all of our expectations. It is very nice to have all of our visual assets in one place and to have them searchable. The various levels of permissions have worked great to be able to share assets with specific groups and people. People have access to the specific things they need. The FileFlow app has also been great when double checking images while out in the field. Libris is straight forward and easy to adapt to meet your specific needs.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Honestly there isn't much that I dislike about this product. There have been a few times where Libris didn't function exactly as we were hoping, but this was mostly using Libris as a video file distribution service, which it isn't specifically designed for. We were able to figure out some work arounds that are meeting our needs.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

Libris is a great solution for both large and small teams who are looking to manage their image and video files. We have been extremely satisfied with our decision to use Libris.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Libris has transformed the way I manage digital assets. Gone are the days of folders on folders on folders on a server. My old system was fairly organized, but I was still the primary person who know where files were stored. This has allowed everyone else on our team to search and through thumbnails visually see what they are looking for.

  ### 28. Staff photographer for our organization and also curate photos that go into our Libris library.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2018

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Libris is great because it helps our clients and colleagues access images with informative captions and descriptions. Those captions are searchable and available anytime. anywhere, allowing for fast turnarounds on tight deadlines. The mobile app, FileFlow, makes searching and downloading photos onto the device quick and seamless.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

The management side of the portal could use lots of improvement. Viewing images and setting up galleries and folders is not the most intuitive way to access our photos internally. I understand the interface is mainly intended for the clients to access the images, but hope it would be just as easy on the back side.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

Helps archive images and access them worldwide via the internet.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The challenges that have been solved is helping our designers and clients access all the images in our database with speed and search optimization. Designers can look for images with keywords or browse through galleries. Our clients can view photos in private galleries and download photos specific to a size they need. The benefits have been outstanding in the sense it allows us, the photographers, to be outside creating content and captioning in detail and not be worrying about sitting with hard drives, searching through thousands of images to fulfill minor requests.

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

The access that Libris provides our staff

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

We don't dislike anything - it is great!

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The great thing about Libris is we have multiple departments that have immediate access to photos and videos like never before. When I first arrived, everyone would hand flash drives back and forth and we would be waiting on each other to create content. By the time we created the content, some of it wasn't even relevant anymore. Libris allows our photographers and content creators to upload everything to one home base and everyone who needs access to the content/photos has it immediately. It has been outstanding for us!

Since using this amazing tool I have not had any problems with it with LIBRIS everything is easier

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

We can store our images and files in a very easy way and our clients can have access to it in a very safe way. It also has excellent archiving labeling options, sharing light boxes with customers. Everything we are looking for is in LIBRIS, everything is always safe.

  ### 33. DAM with great potential

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ana Maria G. | Fleet Publishing Supervisor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

I like the simple and straightforward interface. It's easy to use and to manage the assets.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

I would like to have more options of research and more tools.
For example, when searching for an image, I would like to have also the suggestions below of similar pictures.
I would like more options to dowload the entire Lightbox (or an entire folder at once without going image by image.
I would like to have the key words pop up when moving over with the mouse.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

Choose libris if you are looking for a DAM that is simple to use and share.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy share of assets.

  ### 34. A great tool for managing our large institution's photo assets

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mary Beth E. | Wine Specialist, Higher Education, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

I love how easy it is to organize and search photos, and share folders with colleagues. Libris has really helped us harness and manage our photo assets in one place.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

I wish it was possible to give all communications colleagues across our institution upload and edit access in Libris so they can more easily store all their photos in this one central place as well. But on the other hand it's probably better to control the library to prevent it from becoming a mess.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

Consider your budget

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're finding images more easily for various projects, and can retire ones that are becoming outdated.

  ### 35. Simple and effective way to organize and share digital assets

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

The front end user interface is intuitive and easy to learn and it's easy to customize with our branding. The Portal looks clean and professional - it's easy to share content with anyone. The interface overall is quite fast and easy to use. There are many upload options, all of which are fast and easy. The servers seem fast and reliable.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

The backend interface is not as intuitive as the end user interface. I wish there were versioning features and approval/workflow features built in, which our team would benefit from.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Libris, we've cut down on the time it takes our team to find and share what they need, from anywhere. The tagging and metadata features are a huge benefit, as we no longer search for our assets in a file system on a shared drive hosted in our office.

  ### 36. Great Photo Sharing Solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Libris allows us to easily push new content to our franchisees for social media and other uses. It's also been great when having others outside our organization submitting large amounts of photos.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

For our team, one of the biggest obstacles has been price, which is in part because of the size of our company. We've looked at a lot of other ways but there isn't something that has the ease of use and still gives us everything we need, with tons of storage and doesn't limit our file size.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

I think it's a create program for managing photography, video and more. It's a great resource as a designer.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The tagging has been really beneficial for what we do, as well as being able to grant access to different folders based on the user's level and need.

  ### 37. Libris gets it done.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Libris gives me the tools I need to manage and dispatch our assets to the entire campus community. It has also given us a solution to accessing assets when not connected to our campus network.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

We are a small non-profit school, the pricing is steep, but now that we have absorbed it into our budgeting cycle, it will be fine. It's still a great value compared to other products, it's just considered a luxury by our accounting people when they scrutinize our budget.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

Embrace it and it will take care of the rest of your worries

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Offsite access. Our campus consists of multiple sites divided by no less than 10 miles. This presents a problem when moving files across our internal network. Libris takes that task and moves it to the cloud where the bandwidth doesn't impact applications.

  ### 38. Quick, Easy Photo Storage

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sherry O. | Web Content Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2020

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

It is easy to find your photos and easy to download them. It is user-friendly and intuitive.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

It requires extensive tagging. If you don't tag your photo correctly, you'll never find. it.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have 1,000 and 1,000s of photos to storage and we need them quickly for our websites and publications.

  ### 39. Very Straight Forward Platform that Does What You Need It to Do

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabrielle Y. | Director of Marketing, Automotive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Its a clean platform that doesn't put a lot of focus on bells and whistles. You can organize photos and content easily and effectively without a lot of hassle.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

I wish I had the option to change my "cockpit" as it were; like in Adobe Bridge. being able to adjust the background into Dark Mode or have some of the functional buttons right at the top of the page would be great.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

Take the time to learn the platform before using it. You will "shoot yourself in the foot" if you don't learn how to successfully manage content, use all of its functionality and more. There are features that Libris has that you may not be aware of-- utilize your customer service! They will connect you to what you need, when you need it. Our rep is great-- always there when we need her and answers any questions we may have within just a few hours.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have amassed BILLIONS of pieces of content over the past 50 years, and corralling them all into one place has been a feat. But thankfully we know once it goes into Libris, its live and legit!

  ### 40. Good asset management system with some UI challenges

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andy A. | Publications Art Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

The system is a good, solid way to store and organize assets. Uploading is easy and adding metadata is fairly straightforward.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

The user interface is challenging and the placement of icons (download button, search, etc.) move around often. Setting up access to different folders and galleries is really complicated and the cascading style of permissions is hard to use.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

It's a good, solid product for the price

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organizing and archiving our assets is something we have needed for a long time. The basic functions are good and we've been able to organize and add metadata to our photos/documents.

  ### 41. Best website for photo sharing!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sandra L. | Graphic Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Libris is very easy to navigate. It allows many people at work to easily access any file that is needed. There are many ways to customize thousands of photos as well through albums and meta tags. I have never had an issue with Libris when it comes to downloading my files. I also love that I get to pick the quality of the image. Most of the time I choose the highest quality, but if I ever want to have the option to send a preview image to someone I can download in a lower quality setting and send over through an email.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Not much to dislike about Libris. It really does the job well. I have not had any issues with it up to this point. It is a very reliable service that makes it easy for our photographers to hand us assets.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

Definitely need to try this out! I have not looked back to any other photo sharing service after I started to use Libris.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At work this is our go to for accessing our photos. Anytime we have our photographer dump us many images we immediately upload to Libris. No need for us to share links in order to access our files, we just log in and it's as simple as that. It is also very easy for me to login my phone. If I don't have my laptop near me I just simply login my mobile device and download.

  ### 42. Amazing photo storage website!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sandra L. | Graphic Designer, Sports, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Libris makes it incredibly easy to access photos that I need for my projects. The user interface is also very easy to learn and meta tags save the day when I need to do a quick search from the thousands of photos that are stored. There is no expiration date on the photos which makes it nice to always update old projects that required photos from past seasons. I love the fact that I can also download all photos through my phone. Whenever I am on the go there is no need for me to pull out my laptop. I just simply log in, download the photo and immediately attach to email for my co workers.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Not much to dislike about Libris. All photos are stored nicely with the ability to download in high quality again.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

Definitely give this a try. I will always look forward to using Libris going onward or will highly recommend wherever I go. It makes all my assets available at all times and is very user interface friendly. This service has never failed on me

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Libris solves the issue not having things at hand and accessible to me at all times. Libris makes it as easy as getting on my phone, login in, and being able to download photo. I can also now organize my organizations photos with meta tags. These have been able to save the day when we are looking for specific uniforms or players on our search.

  ### 43. Great database tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mariana C. | Technical Support Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

I like the way we can organize our photos on Libris. We are trying to keep the same organization as our drivers, so the rest of the team can interface with it easily, even though we don't have to, being able to tag those photos, create a history for each equipment, has made our lives easier.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

If you upload the photos and don't tag them right away, it will be hard to find them again to tag. There's no tool or option to see untagged photos.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

It is a great tool to use. Very helpful and easy to set up. The hardest part is to get your team to participate in its full force as I do. It can resemble the same structure as in a hard drive, it's up the team to decide what works best for you.
Also, since you can download the photos with the tag added to it, you will be able to run simulations based on pictures and tags if your company does these analyses.
It's a great tool, a good for picture consolidating area, and never more "we can't find what we are looking for".

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Historical data of our equipment
Easy search for whatever topic we look into
Better marketing tool

  ### 44. Great photo storage and sharing platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Timothy J. | Communications Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Libris is very helpful when it comes to storing both photos and video. It is easy to navigate and search. One of my favorite features is the ability to share assets with other people. This was something we struggled with before.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

It is difficult to rename photos and video when uploaded. Sometimes when our interns put photos into the system, they forget to name them properly. This can create difficulty when we have to go back in and name them as the system only allows you to name one photo at a time.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

Libris is extremely helpful when it comes to organizing and storing your assets. In addition to being able to store the assets, it makes it extremely easy to share them and to monetize them if that is something you are interested in doing.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storing large files like photos and videos is hard, having a place to do that in the cloud with the ease of Libris has been a big help. We love to share our photos with stakeholders. Libiris is one of the most simple ways to do this. Before we had to use dropbox or onedrive and that got out of hand quickly with different folders and lack of organization across the board. With Libris we can track who is looking at what folder and who has what link. It has greatly simplified our process for sharing and tracking content that we send to our stakeholders.

  ### 45. I think it's a great platform and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zach M. | Marketing Specialist, Marketing and Advertising, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

The simple organization of libraries. They're easy to navigate and share which is a big plus with a large organization. Being able to download the images in different sizes saves a TON of time in or CMS, which does not work well with large images. When designing system flyers or advertisements, the large photo option is a great benefit.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

It might be a little picky, but I do wish the UI was a little more colorful. I'd also like to see improvements to the search function. Specifically, I'd like to see the search bar available on all pages. It can be hard to find at times.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

Quit wasting time, and make the switch.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It acts as a single source of truth for all images owned by our organization. Before, it was a lot of emails asking for photos and getting rerouted to other people who have access. It was a pain. Now, there is a simple process to follow for those who do not have direct access to the system.

  ### 46. Excellent Answer to Digital Asset Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gary W. | Director of Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Libris has allowed us to quickly publish and organize our digital assets, while providing an efficient way for our users to find the assets they need. The search feature is absolutely great and saves lots of time for our members when trying to find an asset.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Our biggest complaint has been the inability to change the Invited Galleries icon. Everything else in our Libris implementation has a certain "pop" to it and the mundane Invited Gallery icon just doesn't follow in the same foot steps..

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

If you are looking for a digital asset management system that is easy to implement and manage, while giving your users a rich experience, Libris is your answer.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The two biggest problems solved by Libris was publishing and making assets available to our members. Before Libris, we spent way too much time managing our library and our members were not happy with having to visually search for an asset. Libris solved both of these issues right our of the box.

  ### 47. All of what you need, none of what you don't

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Having the files stored online means takes our office out of having to maintain backups, and makes it much easier to send files to a client

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Occasional bugs. I find that the selection tool sometimes goes weird and I have to reload the page.
Also, having the files stored online can become a problem when our server is slow.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

Definitely worth investigating, it has covered all of our needs and has worked very well in working with outside clients.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Libris makes it very easy to share images within our office, and with outside clients.

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

I recommend this tool

I can easily share my content with other inside and outside of my company.

  ### 49. A great way to digitize photography assets for an organization.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2019

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

The most helpful function is the FTP function for in-game and real-time uploads so that our social team can access big moments instantly as they happen.

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

When editing metadata within the Libris backend, the keywords do not always update and it can get a bit frustrating knowing you did the correct keyword updating, but the photos do not function in terms of searching.

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The File Flow app has been incredibly helpful on the fly. Downloading and posting photos while not near a computer is essential in the sports world.

  ### 50. Great service and platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2020

**What do you like best about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

Its super easy to use to create libraries, tag photos and support our robust gallery on our website

**What do you dislike about PhotoShelter for Brands?**

The API could be improved - my dev team has told me multiple times that the documentation is not super robust and they often have to contact someone at Libris to do things that should be straightforward

**Recommendations to others considering PhotoShelter for Brands:**

none

**What problems is PhotoShelter for Brands solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Libris to manage a huge amount of photo assets and we needed robust tagging which is super important in our business and on our website
