## About Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents
Dial gives AI agents their own communication identity. Through a single REST API or MCP tool, agents can provision real US, Canadian, and international phone numbers and immediately send and receive SMS, WhatsApp messages, and voice calls - no carrier setup, no separate integrations for each channel. Dial is built for the agentic era, where AI agents increasingly need to act on behalf of users: signing up for services, completing 2FA/OTP verification, placing outbound calls with a local caller ID, and handling inbound communication across every channel. A unified webhook routes calls, SMS, and WhatsApp messages back to the agent in a consistent format, so developers don't have to stitch together multiple providers. Integration is designed to be fast. Dial offers Python and Node.js SDKs, a REST API, and an MCP server that works out of the box with Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, OpenAI Agents, and any MCP-compatible client. New users get $5 in credit automatically with no credit card required, and a phone number can be live within about 30 seconds. Key capabilities include real phone number provisioning via API, two-way SMS worldwide, WhatsApp reach in 180+ countries, inbound and outbound voice calls with real-time transcription and text-to-speech replies, and a single unified webhook across all channels. Dial also authors the Agent Channel Exchange Standard (ACES), an open protocol addressing how communication infrastructure needs to evolve for a world with far more agents than humans.

 ### 1. Paging That Talks Back: Our On-Call Agent Runs Incidents by Voice

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miki M. | Co-Founder & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

The standout is the Context MCP: you point Dial at your own MCP server and the voice agent calls your tools live, mid-call. That turns a phone call from a one-way notification into a two-way command channel into your own systems, I haven't seen another telephony API do this.
We built an AI on-call commander on it: it places a real outbound call to an engineer, and over that same call they can dismiss an alert, trigger a second call to a teammate, run a gated runbook, or escalate to a manager - all executed against production in real time, by voice.

Getting a real phone number for your agent is the other surprise, it takes seconds, not the usual telephony onboarding slog. Provision a number, drop your system prompt into the call instruction, and you've got a live agent on a real line. The UI/UX is smooth throughout, but the API documentation and SDK are the real standouts: clear, well-organized docs and a clean CLI meant we went from zero to real outbound calls fast, with no telephony plumbing. It's genuinely agent-native, works out of the box with Claude, Cursor, LangChain and MCP.

The support and Discord community were fantastic - responsive, hands-on, and quick to unblock us whenever we had a question. It's the kind of support that makes you confident building on a platform.

The ROI was positive almost immediately: the low barrier to start plus the fast integration meant we delivered a working, high-value product in a fraction of the time and cost we'd budgeted, and the real-time conversation quality held up to an actual high-stakes incident run entirely by voice. That combination of speed, low cost, capability, and support is rare in infrastructure.

**What do you dislike about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

The one thing I'd tune: the voice agent will faithfully say whatever you give it, so out of the box a long system prompt can produce an opening that runs longer than you'd want on a live call. We got crisp results once we tightened our prompts and kept openings short, so it was really a prompting adjustment on our side, not a product flaw. A few built-in best-practice defaults or examples for voice phrasing would make that even smoother for first-timers.

**What problems is Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our agents manage production systems, and the hardest moment is when software needs to reach a human fast, an incident at 2am where an on-call engineer has to make a real decision.
Dial closes that gap. It gives our agents a real phone number and, through the Context MCP, lets them hold a genuine two-way conversation: the agent calls the engineer, explains the situation, and the engineer can act - dismiss a false alarm, pull in a teammate, run a runbook, or escalate, all over the same live call, with the agent executing against production in real time.

The benefit is that voice becomes an actual control channel, not just an alert. Instead of bolting together telephony, prompting, and tool-calling ourselves, we got all of it from one agent-native API in a fraction of the time, and we can put a human in the loop by phone exactly when it matters. For any agentic product that needs reliable human-in-the-loop moments.

 ### 2. Ridiculously Fast Provisioning and Rock-Solid Call Routing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ido G. | Business Intelligence Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

The best part is how ridiculously fast it is to provision a number and connect it to our stack. Dial removes all the usual telecom friction. You just grab a number, point it to your agent, and it works. It lets us focus on fine-tuning the AI instead of debugging phone lines, and the low latency makes the calls feel incredibly natural.

**What do you dislike about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

much, honestly. If I had to nitpick, the analytics dashboard is a bit basic right now. It gives us the core metrics we need, but I'd love to see deeper call insights out of the box. That said, the core routing is so rock-solid that it's really not a big deal.

**What problems is Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It mostly saves us time and increases our development velocity

 ### 3. Rock-Solid Phone Infrastructure That Lets Us Build Fast

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ran A. | Java Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

Persistent, reliable phone numbers that work beautifully. We built a real product in one night because the infrastructure was solid and got out of the way. All we had to focus was on our product and architecture, while the Dial team handled the rest. That's what matters.

**What do you dislike about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

Nothing really. Waiting for them to expand beyond phone to other channels - would love WhatsApp, and video support down the line.

**What problems is Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building persistent AI agents that actually talk to people - normally a months-long infrastructure project. Dial let us ship a full product with an actual local number in on night by handling the hard part. Now we iterate on what matters: making the conversations meaningful, not debugging phone systems.

 ### 4. One of the the Cleanest API I've Worked With ,I got an AI Calls Live in Minutes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yaniv S. | Technical Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

The simplicity and stability!!!!! The speed from zero to a live AI call.
I connected Dial to a React Native app and had outbound AI agent calls working e2e,number provisioned, call placed, transcript delivered via webhook in one shot, all within few minutes. brilliant...

**What do you dislike about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

Can't think about anything, honestly , it was a very positive experience.

**What problems is Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents solving and how is that benefiting you?**

in three words one stop shop - Dial lets me treat phone calls like any other API resource.
Instead of stitching together a telephony provider, a voice pipeline, and transcription myself, I got numbers, outbound AI calls, and transcripts from a single service.
The API is one of the cleanest I've worked with , well designed, predictable, and reliable from the first call.
That freed me to spend my time on my product instead of plumbing, and the whole integration took minutes instead of weeks.

 ### 5. Effortlessly Expands Commerce with Intuitive Automation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shimon S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

I love how easy Phone Numbers for AI Agents was to use, making the setup work instantly and felt too easy. It enables me to have more joyful moments in life rather than doing what 'I need' or 'I should,' because now the agents can handle those tasks. I can solve a need or create automation in no time using Claude.

**What do you dislike about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

I want it to support more languages and get support for WhatsApp so that I can get it to do more tasks that arrive at me via WhatsApp. Right now I can't add an agent to WhatsApp, so I can't use the agent to gather information for me from different groups and also do tasks for me. I also want the ability to have more control over the agent when it's having a phone call.

**What problems is Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to build apps with agent capabilities, reduce logistics efforts, and automate tasks I dislike, like selling unnecessary items. It enhances life joy by letting agents handle mundane tasks.

 ### 6. Fast to set up, reliable across calls and SMS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

Giving an AI agent a real phone presence usually means one of two painful paths: bolting onto a telecom API that was never designed for agents, or assembling a multi-vendor voice stack and maintaining it before anything works. Dial skips that entirely. I provisioned a number and had it running inside my agent in minutes, across calls, SMS, and voice, without stitching infrastructure together.

I've used it for a variety of use cases, and it has held up with ease of use, control, and amazing call quality. The benefit is speed to a working product and far less time spent on setup and plumbing, so I can focus on the agent logic instead.

**What do you dislike about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

Honestly not much. As with most fast moving platforms, the docs occasionally lag the newest features, so once in a while I leaned on the example prompts to fill a gap. Not a blocker, and support was not something I needed to fall back on since the setup was self serve. If anything, it raises my expectations: given the pace so far, I expect the product and the team to keep up an amazing feature velocity.

**What problems is Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The core problem Dial solves is giving an AI agent a real way to reach and respond to people by phone, SMS, and voice. There are other ways to get there, but they tend to mean wiring up a telecom API that was never built for agents or maintaining a multi-vendor voice stack, which is slow and hard to justify. Dial lets you drop the capability in quickly instead, so the agent handles real conversations and messages. The benefit is getting from idea to a working setup fast, with less time spent on telecom plumbing and more on the agent itself.

 ### 7. Easy Integration and Fast Onboarding, but Not Yet Ready for Production Compliance

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

Easy to integrate, and it fits really well with modern software building and vibe-coding. Onboarding is quick and straightforward, so I was able to get started without much friction.

**What do you dislike about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

The product doesn’t feel ready for production use or scaling yet. A big part of that, for me, is the lack of SOC2 and GDPR compliance, which are must-haves in my opinion and for my use cases.

That said, I like the team, and I know they’re actively working to improve these areas. I’m counting on them to be fully ready within the next few months.

**What problems is Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It enables quick, easy phone number setup and phone-related integrations for automated software and agents. They take care of so much of the hard work for you, which makes the whole process feel much more straightforward.

 ### 8. Integrated Solution with Stellar TTS, Some Improvements Needed

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

I like that Phone Numbers for AI Agents provides everything in one service, which makes it quick to iterate on ideas without having to build a product on different services. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the TTS voice. It doesn't sound like you're talking to a bot and makes phone calls sound better. The initial setup was very easy; I just told the needed code, and it did the rest.

**What do you dislike about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

The speech-to-text could be better, but it's something that is easy to improve with good enough model selection. Maybe use another model or service, and allow it to work in noisy environments.

**What problems is Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Phone Numbers for AI Agents offers an all-in-one service making idea iteration fast, with a good TTS voice that enhances call quality, sounding less robotic.

 ### 9. Quick SMS Integration, Limited by Platform Support

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Itay E. | CTO, Financial Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

I like that Phone Numbers for AI Agents is easy to integrate. Everyone has an SMS app, whether it's an App or WhatsApp, and it's really convenient.

**What do you dislike about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

I want to integrate WhatsApp and other messaging providers to support as many platforms as I can for everyone all over The US. Currently, it's billed only for SMS.

**What problems is Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Phone Numbers for AI Agents provides an easy solution for integrating SMS or WhatsApp agents with our users, making it convenient to connect data without developing a new mobile app.

 ### 10. Agentic-First Architecture Makes App Deployment Easy

**What do you like best about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

Its agentic-first architecture makes it easy to connect and deploy apps using a simple API.

**What do you dislike about Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents?**

There's a bit of latency and its very noticeable for the end user, however its coupled to the model performance and should improve over time

**What problems is Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents solving and how is that benefiting you?**

On the business level it allows you to connect old, non-digital world with AI native products and services. On the engineering level it unifies frontier models with good infra to make it easy to deploy apps
