I like Phocas's ability to take mass amounts of data, and shrink it down to a small usable form. You can filter it almost any way you can think of, filters on top of filters is the key here, to fully customizing your data and how it is presented to you. The report function is also amazing, you can custom build reports, or use many of the reports that are already there to quickly glance at whatever data sets you need to, whether for progress reports, data reports, or comparing. The other great function it has is the ability to take the data off the website and put them on a variety of other platforms, like excel or word or what have you. Overall Phocas is a very useful tool to extract data from a source that does not make it easy to view that kind of data, or it is impossible to view that kind of data from it, and it puts it out there however you'd like to view it. Sometimes there is a lag when trying to look at data, but this may just be due to the size of data that I am looking at. I also wish there were a "undo" button to quickly undo a filter or a move instead of having to manually do it and risk messing up your filters. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This tool makes it easy to transfer and look at data at a glance. It's best feature, in my opinion, is it's ability to sort and display the data in any way you want. It gives you more options than you'll ever really need. It's also got so many great reports that it can run, to automatically compare and compose data in an easily view able and understandable way. The one small thing I dislike about phocas, and this could solely just be my computer, my internet or the amount of data I'm looking at, but sometimes it seems pretty slow to pull up certain data sets or display certain things. Slightly disappointed to discover after spending a fair amount of time designing a new database with the excellent new Database Design tool that the essential "Build" part was not compatible with SQL Server 2008 R2. There is usually a workaround for supporting new features on older versions of SQL so it's a shame that hasn't been added. Upgrading to a new version of SQL Enterprise edition is both costly and, in our case, has to be balanced with the potential impact on other applications using the same SQL Server. Phocas is a wonderfully designed tool that will indeed help you grow your business. The dashboards are user friendly and very easy to read as well as the design. Originally our office team would have to run al reports for our sales team, but the purchase of Phocas has meant that the sales managers can do all of this themselves.
