Since we’re in a higher ED, we’ve explored creative ways to recreate this functionality, but we haven’t been successful. Additionally, as a decentralized organization, we’ve identified the need to segment access to certain printers because they’re funded differently from others, and that functionality isn’t available. Lastly, we’ve also identified the need for multiple quota options and more automated ways to add points back when a user hits their quota. **What problems is Pharos Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** So far we see a lot of benefits to the direct print option that will allow us to decommission legacy print servers. We have also seen some great insights that we can make available for the IT support groups to utilize to help them better manage their areas. ### 2. Pharos has been very good in helping us get the system tweaked to our needs and have been with us in meetings as needed. **What do you dislike about Pharos Cloud?** Our only issue has been the time to get setup which is a lot our fault as we push for features to fit into our environment. Which pharos has been very responsive to. We will have the system we want when we completely transition to Cloud. **What problems is Pharos Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** We track prints for bill back, Pharos has been responsive and helpful in helping us meet those needs. ### 3. Unlike other cloud-based printing systems, Pharos Cloud allows for "push" printing in addition to "follow me" secure printing, with charge back options. The Pharos Cloud environment is still missing critical functionality around user chargebacks and we've run into inexplicable failures with the Print Scout agent. Often the fix for one problem introduces a new problem. **What problems is Pharos Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** We need user-based tracking of usage. For example, how many pages of both black and white, color, single-sided, and double-sided printing did John Smith print last month? Then be able to aggregate and track that data over time. For some of our user base, we also need a way to charge them based on that usage. ### 5. Unprint is a stable production application for our University. We like the ability of Uniprint integration with our billing systems. We love our Uniprint system. Our favorite part of the Unprint system is the support technicians we work with. They are quick to respond, easy to work with and they know the product inside out. We work with many different vendors and Pharos is by far the best to work with in a Higher Education Environment. **What do you dislike about Pharos Cloud?** The only downside to Uniprint is the occasional issue with the remote pop up on our students Mac laptops. We have found the integration with Mac devices to be cumbersome. **Recommendations to others considering Pharos Cloud:** Test it out in your environment for yourself. I consider myself fairly-tech-savvy but this is one of the best. The android version of the application has more features. On the app it can only print commands from the box app. The application for apple needs to be updated. After 7 years, we really don't have any system issues with Pharos. Print once and release anywhere. It simplifies my job in IT and provides maximum flexibility. It is a great way to do secure printing as well. **What do you dislike about Pharos Cloud?** I dislike having to have a client on each computer. It doesn't help that this client often has to be upgraded and it a little problematic in its upgrade. I also do not like that printing from a mobile device is a separate purchased product. **Recommendations to others considering Pharos Cloud:** PaperCut is the popular guy right now but uniprint is still a quality product. Give both a good review before just following the crowd. **What problems is Pharos Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** Pharos allows our organization to print in a number of different ways. I can setup departments to print and monthly I provide them a bill for what they have used. Our students receive a free print quota and once they have used their allotment they can pay to add more.
