UI / UX
The interface is clean and intuitive. Query performance dashboards are easy to navigate and the EXPLAIN plan visualizer makes it straightforward to identify bottlenecks without digging through raw logs.
Integrations
Integrates seamlessly with PostgreSQL setups across AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, and self-hosted instances. Setup is relatively painless and fits well into existing infrastructure without major configuration overhead.
Performance
Real-time query monitoring and slow query detection are highly accurate. Index advisor recommendations have directly helped reduce query execution times, which reflects well on the underlying analysis engine.

I like the UI of pganalyze and how all the related information and collected data are stored in a very meaningful way. It's very easy to use and makes it simple for me to visualize whether things are performing well or not. The number of reads, index scans, and deep scans are all beautifully presented in a visually appealing manner. It's also very easy to set up, with all the necessary documents and help readily available, so there's nothing abstract or difficult about it.

There are a lot of things I don't understand about Pganalyze, and there could be a beginner's guide on how to use Pganalyze most efficiently.

**What do you like best about pganalyze?**

I like that pganalyze just works and they keep adding new features to really get into the nitty gritty of understanding how the system works. They give you expert insights, which feels like standing on the shoulders of PostgreSQL experts, allowing us to focus more on our application and business domain. I also enjoy the server log, query and auto-vacuum insights, table bloat, and query performance tuning via plan statistics and comparisons. The initial setup is quite easy, get the container, inject the database auth credentials, and set up some functions done.

**What do you dislike about pganalyze?**

It's all pretty good but maybe more lock contention insights and more granular best practices and recommended tuning values. Oh and I'd love an official MCP server for agentic workflows.

**What do you like best about pganalyze?**

First of all it is very easy to setup and use. I am tracking multiple databases (aws rds) using postgres and it provides me with separate details of each database. I really like the overall view of database where it shows all queries by users with time (average or percentiles). Apart from this I like other features like index advisor and it also suggests unused index that I can remove. It's a features that I didn't knew I needed. I have been able to solve multiple performance issues with the help of pganalyze. I have event setup alerts to be sent to slack in case there are slow queries and this integration with slack was also very easy to setup. I was an early user and now my whole team is using it regularly. Haven't had a requirement to contact the support team yet so can't comment on that.

**What do you dislike about pganalyze?**

One of the thing I would like for pganalyze to do better would be index advisor for jsonb columns and the fact that it requires steep learning curve for new users.

**What do you like best about pganalyze?**

The ease of which it helps identify system issues, including performance problems.  We have recently migrated multiple databases from SQL Server to AWS Aurora Postgres and this tool has been invaluable in our testing to help identify missing indexes, configuration changes, and reviewing logs easily.  It has become part of our daily toolset during this migration and we will continue to use it after we are in production.

**What do you dislike about pganalyze?**

There are occasional issues with large/long queries not capturing missing indexes or query plans.  You also need to have additional tooling for real-time monitoring, as that is not something this tool will be able to accomplish.

**What problems is pganalyze solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our development shop had very little Postgres experience before our current project.  This tool has been indispensable in helping us learn how Postgres differs from SQL Server (indexes, parallelism, etc) and it allows us to quickly resolve performance issues, even before they are reported by our end-users.

**What do you like best about pganalyze?**

I have been using PGAnalyze for a while now. It helps me focus on the unoptimized queries which is impacting the database the more in terms of CPU & I/O usage. It also gives me detailed analysis on the query plan, the missing indexes and the recommendations on creating appropriate indexes. In short PGAnalyze helped me run my database workloads in the most optimized way possible and improve the overall application performance.

Nothing in particular. They keep adding new features that helps optimize the database performance.

pganalyze helps us identify slow queries, track index usage, and monitor database health. This allows our team to proactively address performance bottlenecks, reduce query latency, and keep our PostgreSQL database running efficiently. **What do you like best about pganalyze?**

Pg analyze provides a set of configuration recommendations and visibility into vacuuming state that it's not found anywhere. Index recommendations for heavy writes/heavy reads is something we've grown to love.

**What do you dislike about pganalyze?**

UI and frontend sometimes have issues and tables loading can be a bit slow.

**What problems is pganalyze solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps us get monitoring on areas of the database that other products like datadog don't cover. Presents the schema data usage in a very nice easy to understand representation, the times an index has been accessed, and also   write/read usage data.

**What do you like best about pganalyze?**

The product goes to the right direction. It's full of great views about indexes, current running queries, performances. Auto-explain view is perfect to understand why a query was slow. Team is super reactive on feature request or misunderstanding. It's great to have technical people that answer you. We use it daily and we do not have dba. It's used by developers and more experienced PostgreSQL users.

**What do you dislike about pganalyze?**

Because it is used by all type of database, it's sometimes not the perfect tool for I/O bound DB from AWS. Sometime we need to look at Performance Insight on AWS then switch back on PgAnalyze to get more details and continue our investigation.

**What problems is pganalyze solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It help me understanding the status of the db, and why we can have slower queries or wrong PostgreSQL settings.

It helps me understand my database's behavior in detail in eastt of use matter.
It enables smarter decisions like tuning queries or adjusting configurations instead of simply scaling up instance sizes, this approach not only saves costs but also improves overall efficiency and reliability.

**What do you dislike about pganalyze?**

The amount of RDS logs it can process daily. My database generates a high volume of logs, and unfortunately, not all of them are processed by pganalyze, which can leave some insights or issues overlooked.

it's easy to use and helps us support our customers with monitoring and analyzing postgres issues which they do very frequently.
we use pganalyze to improve query performence and monitor long queries to the db

**What do you dislike about pganalyze?**

it was kind of difficult to implement and integrate into our environment and the docs were sub par

we had performance issues with the db
