"A well set-up system with minor opportunities for improvement"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Personio?

We are quite satisfied with most factors - especially, since Personio has also integrated payroll features and the tiresome export (of HRIS data) and re-import (of salary slips) can be avoided in this way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Personio?

Not impressed about the reporting features: I don't uderstand the setup of individual reports (what is included/what is not) and some reports lack the necessary depth our BI team seamlessly provides when given the raw data (e.g., fluctuation -> correct by voluntary. Gender pay gap -> give correcte and uncorrected. Sickness rate -> correct by long-term). You can all do that, but it's not a standard feature/filter/drill-down which I would expect. "Streamlined HR Processes, Perfect for Remote Teams"
5/5
What do you like best about Personio?

I really appreciate how Personio helps me gain a lot of time by cutting out the waiting for responses from office managers and HR. It lets me focus more on my role by handling all the office-related things efficiently. I find the days off calendar incredibly useful because it helps me plan around my colleagues' schedules and avoid overlap. I also like being able to see who reports to whom within the organization. Another feature I like is being able to check how many days off I have left. Getting started with Personio was very easy since I received my credentials and could start using it right away. I'd rate it 10 out of 10, especially for those working fully remote like me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Personio?

i can't ping point exactly anthing bcs for me it does the job otherwise i wouldn't give it a 10 out of 10 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible, Self-Service HR Workflows with Strong Integrations and Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Personio?

Personio is a very flexible system that allows us to set up different workflows for the multiple countries we operate in. We now have all checklists in one system, which ensures us we never forget steps in, for example, onboarding or offboarding of colleagues. They have many options for integrations, and have an open API, so you can link it with your other software.

A big plus for me is that you don't need a consultant to change a workflow. They have a ton of support articles, AI assistent or designated support consultants that can answer your questions if needed.

We also use the Performance & Development module. Running complete cycles is easy and it allows you to get a full picture. You can use self-reviews, peer reviews (360 feedback) and manager reviews. The only thing I need more guidance on/research more, is to how to set up the module to proactively manage performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Personio?

It would be great if the system supported more manager and/or employee service options, for example that an employee can officially start a workflow if they want to reduce or increase their weekly working hours.

Regarding the additional modules, e.g. the Performance & Development, signature, etc. I don't have any feedback. It works very well for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined HR Compliance with Seamless DATEV Integration"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Personio?

As Senior HR & Compliance Manager at a recruitment agency, the Germany-tailored compliance suite is the core reason we stick with Personio. The platform comes pre-set with correct BDSG retention rules, ready-made Betriebsrat report exports, and fully DSGVO-aligned data access permissions—no building compliance spreadsheets from scratch each month. The native bidirectional DATEV payroll sync is a huge time saver. All working hours, salary adjustments and contract updates flow through automatically, so we skip tedious CSV export, cleaning and manual upload steps for payroll every month. Everything from applicant pipelines, permanent employee files to time-off tracking lives inside one dashboard. Automated reminders flag expiring employment contracts to prevent labor law violations, and every single data modification creates a permanent audit trail. When auditors or our works council request documentation, I can pull full records instantly instead of digging through disjointed folders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Personio?

The candidate management module is clearly built for regular corporate HR teams, not recruitment agencies processing hundreds of applicants. There is no bulk anonymization function to mass archive outdated candidate profiles required under BDSG; I have to manually edit each applicant entry one by one for monthly data cleanup, which eats up half a workday. There are no native contract templates with standard temporary staffing clauses for fixed-term placements. I constantly import and reformat external Word documents to create placement contracts for our temp candidates. The standard reporting tool cannot generate custom turnover metrics specific to our contractor pool. At month-end, I must export raw datasets to Excel and build custom analysis sheets from scratch to share placement and retention KPIs with leadership. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All important information centralized – flexible absences and Jira synchronization"
4/5
What do you like best about Personio?

I find all the important information for me as an employee in one place. Possible reasons for absence are very flexible. At my employer, we have a synchronization of our internal time tracking from Jira to Personio, and vice versa.

I can't say anything about the price of Personio as an employee. The interface is easy to use, and I find everything I need.

I often use the app on iOS to request absences. I don't have to log in on the PC first. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Personio?

There is nothing I miss. Everything I need is present. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Clear, time-saving, and flexible: Perfect control of working hours, calendar, and documents"
5/5
What do you like best about Personio?

The clear and straightforward structure saves a lot of time. Entering the daily working hours directly on the homepage is helpful and saves me the first step of the day into detail before I forget when I started and want to stop. Creating documents and business trip requests is quickly done through form entry and can be signed quickly with the digital signature and forwarded to the supervisor. The calendar helps me especially in the monthly view to correctly allocate my mobile working days according to the applicable guidelines of my organization. The working time overview is very good. I can quickly see how many overtime hours I have and, for example, can reduce them through days off or if I need to make up for negative hours. The flexible adjustability of working time entries helps me to adapt to unplanned changes in the scheduled workday. I frequently use document creation, the calendar, detailed time tracking, and the software's evaluation functions for my workflow and am very satisfied with the clarity, presentation, and input options. Important things like absences and their reasons can be entered into the calendar. The team overview, organized by departments and the entire organization, is also well designed. I can quickly see who among my colleagues and supervisors is present and who is not. This saves me many unnecessary emails and calls, etc., and I can directly contact, for example, the responsible representative. Synchronization with Outlook and Office 365 applications works and is very important to me. The software starts quickly and shows good usability and performance. The price-performance ratio is right and meets the needs of my organization. The integration of AI functions is important, and the input correction (e.g., incorrect or too short breaks) works well. If there are problems, I can get support through the integrated support function. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Personio?

I have a clear and precise topic here. I don't like that in the calendar overview, the reasons for absence have to be recorded as a comment and not directly entered in the calendar. For example, if I record a business trip as an absence, I have to enter the reason separately under comments, which not all of my colleagues can see at a glance. I would prefer if I could enter the reason under absence and the type of absence, e.g., "business trip," would appear directly below. So "Lecture... below business trip <7h" as an example.

Also, sometimes there are "remnants" in a foreign language (in our case English) in the software, which should be fixed as a small "bug." Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless to use with quick support"
5/5
What do you like best about Personio?

I like that Personio has a very straightforward experience and is easy to use. The design is also something I appreciate, and the customer support is quick to resolve questions. I find having access to old documents in Personio really handy. I also like the built-in automation emails that save time by notifying people to report their hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Personio?

I feel there is still room for improvement in how I can submit hours to the system. It automatically suggests adding lunches and such, but as a part-time employee, I sometimes don't have a set lunch. I have work stretches once or twice per week, so the current system doesn't quite fit my work pattern. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effective HR tool with room for user improvements"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Personio?

What I like most about Personio is that you can manage many topics independently according to permissions, meaning who sees what and who can do what. It's also great that the document management with templates takes away a lot of administrative effort. The initial setup of Personio went well, was well supported, and wasn't too difficult with a good data foundation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Personio?

The analyses are unfortunately not yet fully developed: we would like to better adapt the reports to our needs. Currently, many standard reports are superfluous and useful views have to be manually created or further processed with Excel. Automations are partly not yet fully developed: not all variables and data can be used and linked, which is why processes have to be carried out manually. The less flexible field maintenance/creation at the interface with Typo3 also poses a hurdle. The consultants could provide better advice not only technically but also practically. The contact person had never technically gone through an application process themselves, which makes understanding the requirements and collaboration difficult - however, a good solution was found. During the initial setup, it was difficult to properly introduce processes such as parental leave or working time models. Weekly hours are not linked to the working time model, working time models cannot be easily copied, and individual time models cannot be renamed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined HR Processes with Minor Glitches"
5/5
What do you like best about Personio?

I use Personio for everyday HR related tasks like applying for leave, tracking attendance, and accessing personal and company information. It makes handling HR processes easy without needing to go through manual steps or frequent follow-ups. I appreciate the clean and straightforward interface, which makes it quick to use even for simple tasks. This reduces back-and-forth communication as most information is readily available and up-to-date. It brings clarity and structure to everyday HR interactions and reduces the dependency on manual communication. I value the notification system and approval workflows as they keep me informed and updated without needing to follow up. The dashboard view is also helpful for getting a quick overview of important information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Personio?

One area to improve is flexibility, especially in terms of customization and reporting. At times certain workflows feel a bit rigid and it's not always easy to tailor them to specific needs. Also, I have noticed performance issues like slow loading and minor glitches, although they don't happen frequently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
