What do you like best?

It's simplicity and cleanliness. the GUI is very minimalistic which goes a long way. The customer service team although young are quite responsive with regards to time of response. The tool Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The important tools like, automation with features which are crucially important to HR / Audit. Historical data , change tracking, Leave Management features are not directly impacting Payroll, Payroll is not as customisable as we would like, Payroll is one size fits all, I would recommend though a few adjustment in the future including training history, approvals of reimbursement, submission of bills/ payments, the tool overall should be more empowering not only to HR but the employees themselves. It would be even better to scan documents directly through the app and upload them onto the system (phone app). Performance Management system is missing customisation (one size does not fit all, uploading of templates into the system for Performance Management. I consider myself a groomed professional in the field of HR and the dashboard although I love it for its simplicity can be more informative with regards to statistics like or Dashboard with customisable graphs for especially for HR where details like leave balances, sick leave days statistics, overall metrics that one would not need to necessarily go to the reports page to obtain. I call them quick stats. The automation part can be simplified. I believe the extra charges are not warranted and should be part and parcel of the HR tool, The onboarding process for new companies clients should be more supportive, by facilitating some of the features and guiding companies on how to maximise the potential of your tool the more they feel comfortable using Personio the longer they will remain as clients. Benefits are very obvious including employee self-service, communication, empowerment of employees with accuracy / ownership of their own data, decentralisation of HR. but important features are missing including customisation of Performance Management etc.. Personio has really helped us facilitate retention of data/ records. sped up our payroll processing enabled our staff to have uptodate information pertaining to their benefits, centralise all our HR features, tools under one umbrella. Our employees love Personio so that's a good thing. They have for the first time ever had all their critical information fields uptodate. The onboarding tool is such a bliss for the HR and IT teams in ensuring all the necessary steps are taken in time. What do you like best?

I can organize my review meetings right from personio and it even creates an appointment with my team mates. The recruiting package allows to post a job on several channels and with the automation package we get templates for moving applicants through the funnel. Personio saved us dozes of hours in the process of hiring new team mates. All our colleagues get transparency via personio since we collect all HR data in it and provide access to the individual team member. Furthermore we can now offer online booking of absence, sick leave or pager duty off days. This helped us in the reporting and planning for our teams and brought good visibility into the organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Unfortunately theer are quite some glitches in the performance module and one can sense, that it is quite new to the ecosystem. It works but would benefiot greatly from a review towards user experience. Secondly the mobile app is quite basic and doesn't offer many features besides besides booking holidays and sick leave. Recommendations to others considering the product:

We started with a monthly paid subscription and introduced it carefully into our organization. Later one we moved to the performance, recruiting and automation plus module. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With the recruiting module we were able to create a end to end hiring process across our teams. We can no receive online applications, screen these and move it through our interview funnel. The templating mechanism saves us a lot of time when responding to a large quantity of applications. The performance module alloed us to document the review meetings and feedback from our team members centrally. What do you like best?

In my opinion, Personio is currently one of the best products on the German market. I am confident it has been developed by professionals with a strong Hr/people knowledge, as it is easy to use still very complex as a tool, very intuitive and adaptable to clients needs. The most important benefit it is the accuracy of the data which has increased cosiderably the performance. Furthermore it is a very helpful tool in creating reportings, which were done manually till now - which has a significant time impact. Some processed have been simplified or even replaced by Personio, which allows us to be more flexible, to work from home, to have the documentation in one place. What do you like best?

Recruiting and HR Management, all in in one place.

Nice UI, very helpful and quick support.

Continuous feature updates.

Regularly webinars, feature insights, and office/virtual events to get to know the product and the people.

What do you dislike?

Nothing big really. I mean, there are many improvements still, but this is most of the time for specific and detailed cases. In general, everything works really well.

The performance section could be furhter imporved, as we do not use it that regularly since its not that detailed. But I hope it gets fuxe vrey soon they have a task force for that es well - thanks guys.

Problems that we face at the moment is related to holidays of working students (Hourly vs daily), time tracking that adheres to rules of taking breaks and some minor UI problems at payroll. What do you like best?

That all employees easily can request absence and the process is automatically followed up by the tool. The absence will then show in the calendar without showing delicate information, which we really like.

What do you dislike?

Parts of the implementation was very tedious and manual. The tool itself is lacking some features that I understood will be launched in the close future (Like approval from the app). We also would like to see some more options for reporting in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

If you need an HR tool that is simple, user-friendly and tailored to your needs, Personio might be a good choice. The settings for permissions and roles are built in a way that you can easily give access to the right people. Team leaders can get access only to their teams, office managers to the employees in the office, and you can add as much information about an employee as you like. We had some issues with who to ask and communicate the absence to. With Personio this problem is gone. The settings in the tool make it possible for the employees to only request absence without thinking about who is on the other side. The right people will get the request and approve/deny it, and that is a relief for the company to know that the requests are processed at the right place at all times. After the absence is approved, all employees can easily see who is not in the office, and who is working from home from the Calendar. What do you like best?

the best part of the implementation of this platform is the integrating of the company personnel data making the rest of the implementation a smooth process.

What do you like best?

Personio has a great user interface for the administrators and for all our employees - it is fun to log in and work with personio. Furthermore we were able to digitize all the documents of our employees, make them transparent (on the right place) and accessible for our employees and the management and have all documents in one place instead of different locations. The option of E-signatures is a really good extension and speeds up the signing process immensely. Addionally employee information can be customized what makes the HR work much easier. The reports you are able to download with Personio are very good (even the standard and not individual reports). Furthermore the approval processes are easy to implement and our on- and off-boarding processes can be easily mapped. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

A few things can still be changed even if Personio is already great:

Sections and attributes that are not filled for one employee should not be shown (causes confusion and looks incomplete).

Furthermore it is not possible to adjust the column width in the employee view.

It is not possible to share customized reports with employees who don't have access to everything (e.g. salaries).

The fields that are displayed in the search bar for the employees should be individually adaptable (it is always position and department). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The opportunity to store and manage all employees information in one point and to lead the recruiting activities across different departments and countries in a consistent way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Unfortunately Personio doesn't offer yet an integrated way to manage also Training (LMS) and Performance Management processes. They have partnerships in place and I know that they are working on these areas but, not having already these processes integrated is a challenge for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

EQS is a company that more than doubled its size in the last 3 years. Three years ago we didn't have structured processes in place and the employees information management wasn't centralized. With Personio we had the opportunity to streamline and improve our administration and recruiting process allowing HR to assume an even more central role in this growth.

Implementing Personio had also an impact on our HR organizational structure. Now we have a Global HR Department that is coordinating HR activities across the different countries through shared processes. This guarantees a consistent way of managing our employees information, monitoring the effectiveness of Recruiting activities and providing HR the opportunity to focus on other strategic topics. What do you like best?

It is an intuitive tool that all the employees can use. It can be easily configured and the system has a lot of flexibility that allow you to personalize all the processes to cover your needs.

The system allows us to track and check all the internal processes we are handling with a couple of clicks. It also works as a repository, so we are sure all the documents are safe and following all the GDPR rules. The employee can access to their records without requesting it to the HR Department.

We can also track attendance, so on one hand we are in compliance with the local regulations and on the other, this allows us to work on the pre-payroll and anticipate accruals and further issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Despite the system is in English, it is not yet in all the main European languages.

Configuring the whole system is not an easy thing, but you can find a great support on the Personio team. And if something can't be done and needs to be developed, you can send your feedback to the development team and is being considered for their future new features. Having all employees in the same platform allows us to report easily per manager/role/location.

As employees have their own dashboard, they can check their payslip, their contract, the remaining holiday or request a leave. These paperwork was done manually on an Excel, the HR team has now more time to focus on other tasks.

We are now able to properly track absences (holidays, sickness, leaves...), so we can work together with the operations team to manage store productivity and we make sure all the employees are respecting all the labor law requirements.

Regarding the ATS, we can reduced the time required for recruitment as you just need to write the post once. Also with the ATS, it is possible to merge all the candidates even if they are coming from different sources and avoid duplicates. What do you like best?

The uncomplicated and digital management of nearly all HR processes.

We run everything from the onboarding process to the digital signage of contracts and performance management to the salary development in Personio.

The support is great, you get a call back, helpful newsletters and follow-up mails. When you call them, they usually call back within minutes!

Its really fun to work with a motivated team like Personio.

Most of the time they find a convenient workaround to some many questions we ask. There is also a lot in the help centre and regular online trainings are being organised. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Some tools like the flexible work schedules and the performance tool for instance are not fully developed yet. But there is a great potential!

The app is optimised for employees, not for admins. Thus, there could way more information available to have all the necessary data on the go.

The set up with all different roles is quite complicated at the beginning, but it really pays out once you see what is possible.

If you suggest a new function or ask for something new, it takes a really long time to get put into the system, which is understandable, but annoying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

- The system is great and it has a lot of great functions for companies operating in Germany. For example, you can create rules related to vacation carry over (how many days, when they should expire).

- Quite a customizable system - many things can be adjusted to the needs of your organization.

- Great reporting, you can build your own reports easily. You simply need to choose the data you want to be shown in your report which is amazing as our previous system was offering pre-built reports only.

- Very good support. If you have any question, they will get back to you within the same day. The communication with Sales Manager and Implementation Manager was very efficient too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

- Sometimes it feels like the system is too German and the functions cannot always be adjusted to other countries. What do you like best?

Personio offers a complete set of tools for all HR tasks. From onboarding to payroll, performance management, attendance and absence tracking to recruiting. Everything can be found in one place.

Data security was also important for us and Personio fulfills all our requirements.

One of the real benefits for us is the reporting power of Personio. You do get the usual reports (headcount, FTE, etc.) out of the system but you can also design/create your own reports. You can create your own attributes and use them in your reports. So, this HR system can be literally used for any company, I would say.

Personio support is excellent too. Really nice and helpful people trying to solve any issue fast. I hate talking to some call center agents not being interested in your actual problem but just following a check list. Personio's support is completely different. I always enjoy calling them because I know that they will take the extra mile to find a solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

We are working with variable teams and thus, we would need a more flexible attendance tracking option. I have been told that Personio is already working on it, so everything will be fine.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

As stated above, we are saving so much time using Personio. One of the things that were really important when we decided to use Personio was the set-up process. Import of existing data was so easy compared to other tools that we tested. We were able to start almost right away.

It took us less than a month to migrate the payroll data of 200+ staff members in to Personio and to complete preparation of payroll.

Ask Personio to let you talk to existing customers because that's what they do. It will allow you to hear the full truth and possible issues when using Personio. I don't know many companies that show that level of transparency.

If data protection is important, you will like Personio. We have a very tough data protection manager and he is absolutely fine with the system (servers located in Germany, which is highly important regarding GDPR as a German company). You can define roles so only people with certain privileges can access relevant information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We save a lot of time using Personio. Coming from a „system“ where we used Excel spreadsheets, this is like flying to the moon now. Everything is in one place and people can be invited to collaborate (e.g. payroll accountant, head of departments) to take over tasks that are defined according to their role.

What do you like best?

Die Einführung war sehr einfach und wir konnten schnell mit der neuen Software starten. Alle Ansprechpartner bei Personio sind super freundlich und zuvorkommend, wir fühlen uns sehr gut betreut. Die Software funktioniert sauber und sieht gut aus, das ist vor allem für die Bedienung durch die Mitarbeiter entscheidend.

The implementation of Personio was very easy because we were supported very competently and personally by the Personio specialists the whole time. All processes related to personnel management are extremely simplified by the software. All processes such as payroll administration, the processing and administration of holiday requests as well as time recording are much easier and time-saving with Personio. Before Personio, we had to map all processes either in various Excel spreadsheets or in paper form, this is now much clearer thanks to the software. What do you like best?

The easy and guided installation and handover with all the important knowledge. The program is really easy to understand and can theoretically be "installed" and run by anyone with a little understanding of programs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes many settings can only be made individually. Here a multiple selection would be great. This would make the installation even easier and sometimes this problem is already solved by uploading Excel lists and thus being able to make several settings at once. What do you like best?

It's very timesaving, a lot of manual HR tasks can be done by Personio like contracts, e-signatures, reminders for managers during onboarding, about contracts, and way way more. What do you like best?

The interface is really simple to use and the HR team could get started working with it easily.

- many useful modules are already available to map a range of personnel processes

- it has a modern design and in many places it is also implemented in a user-friendly way

- there are still a number of modules or functionalities in the modules that are missing or have not been thought through consistently (onboarding, reporting possibilities, mobile app, etc.)

- sometimes there are also logic gaps which lead to the fact that automatic systems simply cannot represent reality (e.g. vacation calculation in absence due to parental leave and illness; no matter what you do, a calculation always runs wrong)

- what bothers me the most, or rather my impression is: more and more construction sites are being opened than old ones are being closed completely

You should, as always, look closely at what you are looking for. Personio does a lot of things right but does not always meet all requirements. For example, is personnel cost planning an important topic or does our company have a rather complex corporate structure? Then Personio might not necessarily be the right choice. Besonders positiv hervorzuheben ist der von Personio vorgeschlagene Implementierungsprozess. Selten etwas so Professionelles erlebt wie hier!

In HR haben wir transparente und offene Prozesse, kann über Pesonio jederzeit die Informationen abfragen, und hat auf Knopfdruck Reports zur Verfügung mit denen man dann weiter arbeiten kann. Sehr einfache Möglichkeit Daten einzuspielen und auch raus zu holen. Enorm vielfältige Einstellungen, fast jede Art von Matrixorganisation ist abbildbar, und die Berechtigungen sind granular einzustellen.

Die Führungskräfte haben jederzeit Zugriff auf ihr Team, wo sie bisher HR benötigten.

Die Geschäftsführung hat ebenfalls jederzeit Zugriff auf Reports, und kann sich Details ansehen, die zuvor ebenfalls nur durch die HR MA zur Verfügung gestellt werden konnten.

Mitarbeiter können jederzeit in ihrem Konto Details ansehen und ändern, und in HR können wir dazu einen Freigabeprozess implementieren. Sie sehen Verläufe und Details zum Gehalt.

Aber einfach die zentrale Ablage und Administration der Mitarbeiter, die strukturierten Prozesse und die Schnittstellen in den einzelnen Prozessen, z.B. vom Recruiting zu Administration bei Anstellung, sind einfach top.

What do you like best?

I like most that you can store any kind of information with this tool. There is no limit of attributes tha can be added. For german customers its essential to be able to track time offs and if sick notes have already been handed in easily. Personio has a very simple way in handling sick leaves. What do you dislike?

When it comes to reports the tool is still in a beta version. Reports are not completeley handy and some data cannot be extracted easily.

Changes that have been made by mistake are still found in the history entries and you cannot delete them or show only the correct entries which might be confusing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I recommend to get informed about all additional packages that can be booked and if these are already included in the price. The implementation phase with a personal implementation manager is advisable. You learn to handel the tool very detailed an d can ask all the questions that appear to you.
