I like that there are so many things you can track but you are limited to how many you can track on a daily basis. The app is intuitive and I found easy to setup. However, I have found that without company engagement I quickly become bored and forget to track. The notifications have never worked for me. I think there is room for improvement, I would like to be able to track more items, I also think tracking weight or measurements could be available or easier to use. What I like the best about using Virgin Pulse is that it is designed to be utilized both actively and passively. You have access to resources that you can actively look through such as their daily cards or healthy recipes and you get rewarded by linking your fitness tracker and having it record your activity automatically. While it is nice to challenge co-workers it would also bring a feeling of a connected healthy community if you can also add friends that may work for another company. Some of the main benefits that I have realized when using Virgin Pulse is that it provides an additional incentive on top of what we already have with our fitness tracker. While Fitbit does give me an hourly step reminder, knowing that I can earn points/rewards for following that reminder builds motivation in the times that motivation is lacking. The rewards program makes virgin pulse top notch. Also if your company sponsors it, they'll send you a free fitness tracker that makes tracking steps and sleep a breeze. I dislike the incompatibility with certain fitness apps, but as time goes on they are clearly working to correct that issue, as more and more are being added. The only other issue is that gift card redemtion can no longer be done via mobile in its entirety, you can redeem it but the code ONLY goes to your work email - and for some of us that's only accessible from the physical office.
