I notice that sometimes Perplexity can become overworked and as a result, it starts providing faulty results. Additionally, while it is a decent tool overall, I find that having a basic understanding is necessary before using it effectively. I always have been a fn of perplexity because of Aravind. Plus it was one of the first ones to give sources along with answers. Now I primarily use for deep research or just quick chatting. I like their app, as its pretty neat. They also launched live stock charts & other features recently which i use on a day to day basis

Nothing to dislike yet, just that hallucinations are still present

1. Deep research reporting with sources. highly helpful for thesis work or industry understanding
2. Multiple different models to choose from, hence I get the chance to test out LLMs and check the best one for me

I used it for OS lab by asking it to create C++ codes, like for CPU scheduling and other laws. I created code to find SJF and FCFS with its help. The initial setup was simple on the web, and everything works well for me with Perplexity.

Best of all? You have access to quality papers, relevant sources listed and even videos suggested for whatever you wanna search. Perplexity is fantastic as it switches between models to optimize data usage and deliver excellent results. That said, if you have a very good question such as: the downside effect of using moisturizer daily... Instead of getting listicles and a bunch of advertorials as you would get on Google, you get invaluable key insights, scientific backed data and follow-up questions to make your content even more relevant and powerful.

Very useful tool for deep research and getting all the sources right. Easy to use and probably top-2 of the go-to-AI tools. Use it weekly. We have to make in depth investment researches, find competitors and thus it has proven quite helpful.

**What do you dislike about Perplexity?**

It has a little bit more hallucinations than GPT-5 i'd say and given you want it for resarch mainly, I guess it is not as great in that sense. You want bullet proof statements.
