The ability to do image generation and use MCP and connections make it quite valuable for my tasks. I use chats with MCP to build and evaluate my Notion pages and create email drafts, which is really useful for me. **What do you dislike about Perplexity?** Lately, Perplexity has made some changes to how the models work, and it doesn't allow you to use the selected models that you like. Instead, it routes you to different cheaper, low-performance models like Sonnet without explicitly mentioning it. They just add a message at the bottom saying 'prepared using Best because the " selected model name " was inapplicable or unavailable.' Additionally, answers are throttled, and there's a monthly limitation on image generation, even for pro subscribers. It feels like they're prioritizing profit over customer satisfaction, showing a greedy corporate side. **What problems is Perplexity solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Perplexity for daily chat and researching. It allows choosing different models for varied outputs, which is great. However, recently, it doesn't let me use my preferred models, switching to low-performance ones without notice. Image generation limits as a pro subscriber are frustrating. ### 2. Forget everything I wrote below, it's public nowadays, they changed their policies, they got issues, they put Sam AI Agent to reply to support requests without fixing anything, they reduced the usage to absurd low limits, Deep researches from 600/day down to 20/month!!!! They offered one free year, from their partnerships, then they forced to add a valid payment method to keep the "free trial", yes, they changed the offer to a free trial. And then they banned accounts claiming fake reasons, and leaving no ways to appeal, they destroyed/terminated my account too. The online documentation hasn't changed, they still claim the same unlimited usage as always, which is misleading. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Perplexity has quickly become my go-to powerhouse for AI-driven research, discovery, and productivity. The range of advanced language models it offers is astounding. I can easily switch between Sonar for deep search and research, or access major LLMs like GPT-5/Thinking, Claude/Thinking, Claude, Grok and Gemini. There are even specialized models designed for quick, focused responses. This kind of flexibility means I always have the right tool, whether I’m diving into a full analysis, brainstorming creatively, or just need a lightning-fast summary. Perplexity Spaces takes things even further. They let me create, share, and reuse mini apps or workflows for any topic or project. Whether I'm working solo or collaborating with others, Spaces make it easy to generate content, extract data in real time, and conduct interactive research all in one unified environment. I especially appreciate how Spaces foster community-driven expertise and give me the freedom to build tools that are personalized to what I care about most. The global context Perplexity brings in is another standout feature. It doesn’t just respond to questions; it taps into global news, trending topics, technical documentation, and niche interests from around the world. Endless possibilities for learning and exploration! The mobile app is just as impressive. It’s fast, intuitive, and fully synced with the desktop version, so I can pick up where I left off no matter which device I'm using. I never lose track of conversations, saved insights, or ongoing projects. **What do you dislike about Perplexity?** EVERYTHING IS BAD ABOUT THIS COMPANY. It’s hard to find complaints with this level of versatility. Occasionally, the sheer depth of options can feel overwhelming, especially with so many models and Spaces to explore. Still, that’s a small downside considering the possibilities it unlocks. **What problems is Perplexity solving and how is that benefiting you?** It was excellent, it became the WORST service you can imagine to get. Support not existent, Discord group, useless. Any review online right now is saying this, and they deserve also G2 tells the real story. NONE OF THE FOLLOWING APPLIES ANYMORE!!!! Perplexity fills the gap between raw information and real answers, transforming the way I approach research, decision-making, and creative work. Its range of models means I’m never limited. That's frustrating. Also, I did a credit refill for $100, but then I got logged out in the middle of brainstorming and can't log back in. It feels like you don't get enough for the amount of money you pay. Once you pay, the platform should not kick you out in the middle of a session. It's hard to gather thoughts again. After buying a year's subscription, most days I have such a lag that I give up and jump to the basic web. After using it for 3+ months, I have found it to be far inferior to ChatGPT for rewriting documents. It's feels very much like a data-mining tool with no sophistication. It's pretty bad -- and paired with the delays -- definitely stay away. One of the worst purchases I've made. **What problems is Perplexity solving and how is that benefiting you?** Tremendous delays with searches. Results are not very robust. Feels like a bare-bones data mining service. Plus, after purchasing, they hound you to upgrade to Comet and lay the offers across your screen. Super annoying! ### 5.
