What do you like best about Perforce ALM?

Helix ALM makes requirements management and traceability easy. It's important to be able to trace requirements through subrequirements, testing, and issues. This tool is intuitive and enables me to generate documents for our quality management system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Perforce ALM?

Helix is great, my team went from paper documents to manage requirements, testing, issues to helix. It is a day and night change - the traceability and tracking within the system is fantastic! The setup of the system initially, is a big haul. It definitely takes 1 or 2 people to become SMEs to understand what is available and explore all the options. This can be a bit tedious. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I am a software developer, and in my perspective, Helix ALM is outstanding software as it has excellent automation and versatile options in development artefacts. What do you like best about Perforce ALM?

Among the range of good features that this platform has, definitely highlights the management of errors or workflow problems, and of course the fact that it allows you to store risk management information without affecting any other process. What do you dislike about Perforce ALM?

This software would get a lot of user customization with a simpler configuration on the back, customization is available, but the interface is not intuitive, and of course, as things get better, better integration with electronic document control such as Arena PLM. Recommendations to others considering Perforce ALM:

It is also a good program for troubleshooting and storing / linking protocols and test reports for verification and validation. Allows users to customize reports to create a traceability array or any other required report. Helix ALM is ideal for maintaining consistency between user needs, requirements, and testing for medical device design controls. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Perforce ALM solving and how is that benefiting you?

HelixALM deals with the commercial problems of traceability of design controls and the effective management of the error tracking process. The software is mainly used by the research and development and quality departments. My organization uses HelixALM to manage and track our hardware and software errors, as well as our requirements, risk management documentation, and verification or validation tests. Helix is a great tool that lets you customize your workflows - but be careful not to make them too complicated! We tried to follow the "less is more" motto when developing our workflows, which has helped tremendously now that we're in the 'maintenance' phase. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Perforce ALM solving and how is that benefiting you?

We're solving the inherent inefficiencies of a paper-based process. Not only can our testers get more actual testing done faster (as they are not having to create and print new Word docs for each test), but the testing format is also more consistent across the team. Helix also gives us a central place to more easily document requirements across all our projects, and has fostered more engagement from our end users in actually documenting their requirements (as it is much better than trying to maintain a huge Word document!)
