There were occasional bugs in earlier versions of the software, and some of the processes could run very slowly. All of these problems have been ironed out in subsequent releases, and I've found the developers very responsive to feedback on bugs and glitches. I have no issues with the latest version. I use it during the editing step of my translation process. It's a great tool for catching inconsistencies, double spaces, open brackets and the like. I love that I can choose between UK and US spelling and even legal style. The flexibility of choosing to accept or reject suggested changes is also a great feature. For highly specialized texts, I wish I could add words to a dictionary. I often edit or proofread a document where I need to use the "Track changes" functions in Word. Any changes made by PerfectIt are not tracked. It would be great if that could be added to the settings. Another feature I'd like to see is checking for protected spaces between number and unit. The inclusion of the popular Chicago Manual of Style is a great advantage but I love the variety of different style rules. This is particularly helpful for translators who have clients with various needs and writing styles, i.e. British, American or Australian English spelling and style rules.
