"Catches consistency errors I tend to miss"
5/5
What do you like best about PerfectIt?

I use PerfectIt as my final check before returning work to a client. It acts as a third set of eyes and checks for common errors that I might miss, especially in longer documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PerfectIt?

I don't have any complaints. Some features don't apply to the work I review, like commonly confused words or tables. I would like to be able to customize it for phrases my clients capitalize or to search for words I need to capitalize. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A must have tool for efficient editors!"
5/5
What do you like best about PerfectIt?

That it allows me to use my editing time efficiently. Running PerfectIt is one step in my editing processes. It helps me clean up a document (i.e., remove unnecessary spaces, check consistency of hyphenation and spelling before I even being reading it) so that by the time I'm ready to focus on editing, a lot of the minor things have already been taken care of, and they are not a distraction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PerfectIt?

Nothing, I have zero complaints! I don't use all the style guides, but the ones I do use are extremely thorough. And whenever I've had any technical difficulties, there is always a YouTube video I can reference or write to the company to request help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Consistency Check"
5/5
What do you like best about PerfectIt?

I am a book editor and always use PerfectIt at the start of a project while skimming through the chapters and assessing the scope of editing needed. Its consistency check is extremely helpful and saves me so much time that I would have had to spend painstakingly checking for inconsistent spellings, word breaks, and the like. I can quickly get a sense of potential problem areas and start a style sheet. I haven't had a chance to use the new integration with CMS feature, but it looks like it will be a great tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PerfectIt?

I have not found anything I dislike so far. Of the features that are applicable to my situation, they are all easy to use and navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"PerfectIt is an extremely valuable and adaptable tool - I couldn't do without it."
5/5
What do you like best about PerfectIt?

PerfectIt is my favourite tool for copyediting or proofreading in Word. I use it at the start of every job, whether it's a short document or longer project. In just a few minutes, it takes care of many repetitive and normally time-consuming tasks such as establishing consistency of spelling and hyphenation and checking abbreviations, giving me a rapid overview of some of the potential issues in the document before I start reading it in detail. After using PerfectIt for many years mainly to check consistency and US or UK spelling, I realized it was even more useful to set up detailed style sheets for each individual client, where appropriate, thus automating even more of the editorial process and allowing me to focus more on the meaning of the content. I would hate to be without it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PerfectIt?

The only downside I can think of is that when used purely as a consistency checker, it will not pick up potential errors that are consistent! However, this is rarely a big issue, and can be overcome by using or customizing style sheets, to tell PerfectIt exactly what you want it to pick up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I am a big fan of PerfectIt and use it for most of my editing work. The longer the document, the more it comes into its own. It catches inconsistencies and is quick and straightforward to use. I also like the option of setting up personalised style sheets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PerfectIt?

"PerfectIt is an indispensable tool for translators and a real time-saver"
5/5
What do you like best about PerfectIt?

As a translator, I work for various clients, mainly international organisations, each with their own in-house style, and the customised style sheets my clients provide save me from having to constantly consult their style manuals. In addition to being very good at catching inconsistencies, PerfectIt also ensures my documents meet all my clients’ specific style requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PerfectIt?

I haven't really experienced any problems with PerfectIt. It's easy to use and good value for money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
