I find the ease of SIM activation and management through Pelion IoT Connectivity to be really beneficial. The management of the SIMs via the Pelion portal is very good. I like Pelion IoT Connectivity because it offers balanced costs and SIM profiles that enable scalability and provide long-term security crucial for managing LTE devices. The setup was super easy, and we were up and running in under 30 minutes after the SIMs arrived. I like Pelion IoT Connectivity for its global multi-network coverage, especially in areas with poor connectivity and network lock-in, which leads to reliable communication. I use Pelion IoT Connectivity to assign IoT sims to assets within our production environment, order sims, and manage stock. It makes sim stock management very simple and straightforward. I find the front-end website and features ideal for me since it's streamlined and very easy to use. The whole web platform just works, all the data I require is there. Sim enabling could be changed but we are currently discussing this with Pelion and are comfortable they will change or amend as they have always listened and tailor the platform to customer requests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Focusing initially on connectivity. We find the tariffs available to be the best part of why we use Pelion, combined with active roaming, we can strive to be "always connected". The private VPN package also provides a level of connectivity to each of our devices directly, securely and easily. We could not live without it now.

Turning towards the management of the network. Throughout our time using the online Pelion portal we have embraced more of the features from subscriber grouping to using the batch update feature. The "refreshed" interface that was released recently is better than the last version, it is slightly easier to use and is more reliable. The REST API endpoint has enabled us to begin trailing active device monitoring, however, development of this has been mothballed to date as we find the over consumption email alerts to do a good enough job. It is nice to know we have options in the future to expand the use of automation and integrate its productivity gains into our business.

We have suffered from network outages in the past and in the last year have seen reliability worsen slightly. These events have been identified and responded to quickly. The refreshed online management interface is better but personally I do find there is a lack of logic to the navigation, often trying to find a section but looking under the wrong menu. All Pelion sims by default requires username, password and APN for authentication prior to success connection. This is a problem to old designs/server/tools if they were designed to authenticate only with APN (without the need for username and password).

There is a way around this with Pelion team which does solves the issue but was quite a hassle to manually turn this off on each sim which delays testing significantly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We had an avoidable issue during onboarding where all of our IoT SIMs were taken offline - Pelion said the fault lied with our previous supplier who didn't provide them with all the required information.

Separately, although the dashboard looks nice, one of the primary things I use it for (looking up a SIM from it's phone number) appears quite difficult to do and requires me to export data from the platform into CSV and search it. We have 10s of thousands of sims with pelion all on a private APN and a VPN connection allowing us to access them privately and securely. Everything works well with little to no down time. If we do have any issues or questions the support staff are very knowledgable and able to help in any way they can. Using the Pleion Portal or check/activate/cancel sims makes life a breeze too.
