## Pear Deck Reviews
  ### 1. Engaging and Interactive Teaching Tool for Classrooms

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mara R. | Spanish Teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

I use Pear Deck for teaching interactive lessons in my middle school Spanish classes. It helps create entertaining and engaging lessons for hard-to-entertain kids. I like being able to take slideshows I already have and make them interactive. Additionally, I appreciate being able to change from student-paced to teacher-paced modes, particularly because sometimes students cannot finish their work during the allotted time in class, so it's nice to be able to switch to student-paced for homework. The initial setup of Pear Deck was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

I wish the premium version wasn't so expensive. It's too expensive to add to the other costs of other necessary programs.

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Pear Deck for teaching interactive lessons, making my slideshows interactive, and switching from student-paced to teacher-paced modes, which keeps students engaged and helps with timing issues.

  ### 2. I love Pear Deck

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miriam C. | IB coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

I can see live if my students are working in class, I can display it on the classroom screen or board to the class for others to see.

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

It is a bit expensive in its premium version for individual users.

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My students enjoy the different features it has like drawing, matching activities, etc.

  ### 3. Pear Deck Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan K. | Teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

Pear Deck is a great tool for the classroom to get students engaged with the content. It allows those students who may learn differently or be a little bit shy, to get involved at their own pace and style.

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

Pear Deck sometimes seems to not update between sessions if changes have been made to the slideshow document. This can sometimes be frustrating, as I like to update my slideshows regularly.

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pear Deck is allowing those students who otherwise would not be engaged with the classroom discussion or content to get engaged and feel part of the classroom discussion.

  ### 4. Peardeck helps me know where my students are at

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adriana P. | Presenter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

In the premium version, I love being able to review student answers in real time. This helps me know if I need to explain something better before the class period ends.

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

I dislike that I am unable to do see student answers on the free version. I need to rely on my school to buy it, if I don't. I also wish the user interface was better on the phone.

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Peardeck helps my teaching be more productive and stops me from needing to walk around to every student to see what they are writing. I can just look at it from my phone.

  ### 5. Interactive presentations at their best!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marnie D. | Educational Technology Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

I love how Pear Deck takes a regular presentation and instantly adds a level of engagement unsurpassed by basic platforms like Slides and PowerPoint. Whether in person or remote, students and adults alike are automatically engaged in the content.

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

There is very little I dislike about Pear Deck. It is an incredible platform on many levels!

**Recommendations to others considering Pear Deck:**

If you are looking for a tool that engages all audience members - whether teachers, students, or in other environments - then Pear Deck will fit the bill perfectly. Because it takes your already-created Power Points and Google Slides presentations and adds the interactive elements to them, the work you've already done isn't wasted.

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Engagement, focus, and attention during meetings and classes are a thing of the past when PearDeck is in use! Because the content is on each participant's screen automatically via PearDeck, everyone is more engaged. Because Pear Deck's built in tools allow for audience response - via text input, drawing, drag and drop - make it so easy to collect information that allows the presenter or teacher to gauge the room's understanding, gather questions, or gain general input.

  ### 6. Incredible add-on for Google Slides to make any presentation interactive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2018

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

Able to add questions, polls, and other items to a Google Slides presentation to get instant feedback from audience. Also, they've added a vocabulary tool that is excellent for students to use to build Quizlets they can study from

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

My only wish would be the cost would be a little lower but it is totally justified with how great the tool is

**Recommendations to others considering Pear Deck:**

The drawing feature can have so many uses- be creative! I have a slide I do in the beginning of presentations that has a bunch of emojis and they have to circle a few that show how they feel. I've also done it that they draw an emoji. It's a fun check in to see how they're doing

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides instant feedback on audiences understanding of a topic and allows you to differentiate for your audience

  ### 7. Necessary for Engagement Tracking

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David W. | T, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

I love that Peardeck allows me to track my students progress and engagement in class on my google slide deck while I'm presenting. My favorite feature is that I can also control the slides from my phone while projecting from my desktop.

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

I dislike that Peardeck does not incorporate any video integration into their systems. I would love to see students able to submit video recordings on a slide or even audio, not simply text or listen to audio and respond.

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Over online learning during the thick of the pandemic and currently in person, this product is life saving as an educator. It tracks all my students responses And then categorized and summarizes the input so I know who is paying attention and who isn't. I can use it for classwork or homework!

  ### 8. Pear Deck - Engagement for the Win!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danielle H. | English Instructional Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

I love that Pear Deck engages my students online so everyone can be engaged, even during concurrent teaching.

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

I would love to be able to add pictures or words impromptu while presenting. I wish had some more complex features so students could add on to the Pear Deck and annotate.

**Recommendations to others considering Pear Deck:**

I would highly recommend Pear Deck if you are looking for a new way to engage your class online and in person. Using google slides, everything is already set up for you, and you just run the Pear Deck. If your district has not purchased it, please show them the research out there about improved engagement.

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As mentioned, I love that it is instant engagement to see if students are payiing attention and understand a concept. It allows my students to work in a teacher-paced or student-paced environment, which is an excellent feature. It can be used as a simple review assignment or a whole class activity.

  ### 9. Great for remote learning and in person too

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

Super easy to use with existing Google presentations or two create new ones. Very interactive and intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

There are more features available in the paid version that are very helpful so paying is the best option

**Recommendations to others considering Pear Deck:**

I would recommend paying for it as the paid features are great for student accountability

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Asynchronous learning and making sure all students are engaged in the current task, great for sub plans too

  ### 10. Pear Deck as an Engagement Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily Beth P. | Pre service teacher

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

easy to use, engaging and interactive with students

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

Can't afford the paid membership with additional tools

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed engagement in my classes and presentations

  ### 11. Amazing for student and teacher engagement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ivan S. | Inclusion Specialist Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

You can connect live with your students.

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

N/a. It is a great program that helps you connect with students to see their live reaction, whether it's in-class or virtual

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is beneficial when having virtual learning and having an up-close screen for students if they have eyesight problems.

  ### 12. OMG! Great and interactive!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vincent P. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

I teach high school French, and in this time of online education, teaching a foreign language digitally has been difficult. PearDeck, which I was recently referred to, helps me bring back the engagement and interaction into my class for the physical students in the classroom and the digital students at home. I love the Flashcard Factory, in which the students receive terms that we've been working on. Then, in pairs, students create a picture that best illustrates that term and write a sentence that conveys its meaning/use. As a teacher, I can see the progress of the teams on screen. The final component of this activity is the acceptance/rejection phase, in which the teacher (perhaps with the help of the students) rate and provide feedback on each submission, accepting those that work and rejecting those that don't. It's about quality control.

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

I haven't been working with PearDeck long enough to find some real issues; however, I would say that I don't like the fact that I cannot--or at least don't know to--pick up where we left off in the Flashcard Factory or the guided presentations. We either have to start over, or I have to make a second set that picks up where the students left off. Sometimes, it's difficult for me to gauge how many terms are enough for the length of class.

**Recommendations to others considering Pear Deck:**

While I have used it only for a foreign language, I'm sure that it has it's benefits in other subject areas. I recommend this product to anyone who wants to find an interactive way of quickly assessing what their students know while also having the students somewhat enjoy it.

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PearDeck is bringing the interaction and life back into my class. The first time that I used it, students were clearly having fun with it and actually laughing and learning at the same time. The interactive presentation component allows me to give live feedback to students as they complete various brief tasks, like translations or sentence-building. I can quickly see who has it and who doesn't.

  ### 13. Interactive Learning for the Win

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

Ease of use - choose from the extensive Pear Deck template library or add on to existing slides presentations with an interactive question

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

Some of the template slides seem like they are for K-8 level students in the graphics, but this is a minor dislike. All the templates are editable.

**Recommendations to others considering Pear Deck:**

Invest in the premium features. If there is one tool we recommend to our teachers and that has been received well, it's Pear Deck. The Take Aways alone are worth the premium subscription.

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With students learning both in person and online, this is a way to present to both groups at the same time. There's a "forced engagement" rather than sitting there hoping the students are paying attention to your presentation. Also, there is a self-paced mode so students can go through the presentation on their own if they are absent (or this feature can be used as a pre- or post- assessment.

  ### 14. Engagement 💯

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabrielle H. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

I love the interactivity of Pear Deck. My students are fully engaged whenever I use this in class and they enjoy taking notes, writing/drawing responses and being able to be a contributor in our lessons. They love to see their answers on the screen and the program allows for so many types of formative assessment, self and peer assessment and fun! I love that they can get their takeaways at the end of the lesson to learn from and study.

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

I think PearDeck operates better on its own rather than through Google Slides. I like that they are compatible but wish that wasn’t the only option.

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Engagement has been a solved problem. The kids learn so much from these sessions because of the multiple modalities of presentation which cater to so many different learning styles.

  ### 15. Fun, interactive way to teach!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Libraries | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

Pear Deck is a great interactive tool that is very easy to use with Google Slides. Students are engaged with the content area being taught and it enables higher level thinking skills. I recommend using it with Grades 4 and up, but it's possible to use with younger grades with well-taught routines and expectations.

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

It can be difficult to use with younger children because they can be easily distracted, but Pear Deck has the capability to lock screens which will solve the problem.

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Students are more engaged than in a typical lecture or slide show.

  ### 16. Great for classroom engagement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan J. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

Pear Deck is super easy to use, just like a powerpoint but so much better!

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

It sometimes wants to be with Google tooooo much, I love just Pear Deck!

**Recommendations to others considering Pear Deck:**

Use it!

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Classroom management, student engagement, it works for all!

  ### 17. Engagement and Success!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

Peardeck is an amazing tool for keeping students focused and engaged during a lesson. Teachers are able to control the screens in a 1:1 classroom, students can see the material clearly on their own screens without being near the board, and students and teachers can interact via the spot check quizzes and polls. I love that it is integrated with Google Slides!

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

If your school isn't 1:1 it could be an issue. Also, when you are 1:1 it is hard to find an alternative for those that have forgotten their device or let it die.

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Peardeck allows easy formative assessments along the way during a lesson. This allows teachers to have data on the exact effect of the lesson.

  ### 18. Jazzed up my google slide presentations and makes it interactive and great formative assessement.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

I like how I can assess my students knowledge immediately with feedback to students.

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

I wish on projection view when students comment I could see who is commenting, or delete comments

**Recommendations to others considering Pear Deck:**

Great interaction with students and great formative assessment.

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using everyday in my classroom!

  ### 19. Wonderful teaching tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2017

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

I love the various options that I can use for students to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding. I have been using it for formative assessments, and the options to write, illustrate, pick answers, etc. are wonderful. It is so easy and straightforward to use! I also love that I can project student work without showing their names so that we can learn together.

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

I wish some of the options were available in the free version, such as the drawing tool. I also wish there was a way to save the illustrations that students submit.

**Recommendations to others considering Pear Deck:**

If you're looking for a straightforward tool for formative assessments that also engages students, this is a great tool! I love all the different options that you can use to help students demonstrate their learning and understanding. Wonderful tool. :)

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love to use Pear Deck for formative assessments, and it's helped me gain instant data and give instant feedback.

  ### 20. Great interactive presentation software!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2017

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

Slide decks are so often boring and lesson life-drainers, especially for students, Not only is Pear Deck not boring, but its built in interactivity makes it useful as a learning tool, and a way to see where students (and adults!) are in a presentation, and to get valuable information.

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

Integration with other systems--like Google Slides and Powerpoint, can be tough, and importing decks you've already made doesn't always go smoothly.

**Recommendations to others considering Pear Deck:**

Get good at building slides in Pear Deck, and using the interactivity features, rather than building them in another software and trying to import.

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Presenting slides is hard, especially when you need to keep them lively and engaging. With Pear Deck, I can build in places where the people I'm presenting to interact, and it gives me valuable information about students or the people in workshops.

  ### 21. Perfect for a math class

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2017

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

I love that I can see individual student responses and tailor my Pear Decks to exactly what they need. Students can interact with little social risk and can feel free to make mistakes.

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

This technology works wonderfully for the traditional math or reading teachers, however it does not work as well for music and other subjects. I find myself having to think out of the box to be able to use this software in the way I would like to use it.

**Recommendations to others considering Pear Deck:**

I love that PEar Deck has everything saved for me and I can use it from year to year. I wish there were more tools available for interaction though.

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our school has 1:1 technology. Pear Deck is a way for us to utilize these tools in a meaningful way.

This product helps to keep down with students not being on task during whole group lecture and instructions. It helps to keep students on pace with the teacher.

  ### 23. PearDeck Enhances Classroom Experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2017

**What do you like best about Pear Deck?**

PearDeck makes it really easy for to engage the classroom with the material through interactive questions. It's a great way to see if the material is being retained and processed and to have discussions on topics that matter.

**What do you dislike about Pear Deck?**

The interface can be a little bit clunky at first.

**What problems is Pear Deck solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Particularly in larger classrooms, it is difficult to quickly assess how well the material is being learned and what areas are challenging. PearDeck helps to narrow that down.
