## About PDQ Deploy & Inventory
PDQ Deploy & Inventory is a self-hosted, agentless endpoint management and patch automation solution that helps IT administrators scan, organize, and maintain Windows devices on on-prem and VPN-connected networks. Common use cases include: automated third-party patching and Windows Cumulative Update deployment, software inventory and compliance auditing, dynamic device group management, PowerShell script execution across targeted endpoints, and recurring maintenance automation for on-prem/on-network Windows fleets. PDQ Deploy & Inventory consists of two complementary tools sold under a single license. PDQ Inventory scans Windows devices across the network to collect hardware specifications, installed applications, OS versions, Active Directory attributes, and custom data defined via PowerShell Scanner. It automatically groups devices into dynamic collections based on criteria such as software version, disk space, or AD membership, and syncs with Active Directory to keep computer records current. PDQ Deploy uses those collections as deployment targets to push software, run scripts, and automate patch management on a defined schedule and silently, without interrupting end users. The Package Library provides 500+ prebuilt packages covering popular third-party applications and Windows Cumulative Updates for workstations and servers, maintained and tested by PDQ. Key features include: - Automated patch management: Schedule recurring deployments of third-party software and Windows Cumulative Updates to targeted device groups, with heartbeat-triggered retries for offline machines - Dynamic Collections: Device groups that update automatically based on defined inventory criteria, enabling precise and up-to-date deployment targeting - Custom packages and scripting: Build multi-step deployment packages, deploy executables/installers/msi packages, and execute PowerShell or batch scripts across targeted devices for configuration changes, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks - Reporting: Prebuilt and custom reports with scheduled, automated email delivery — commonly used for compliance audits and management reporting - Central Server mode: Connects multiple admin consoles to a single PDQ server, allowing IT teams to collaboratively manage packages, schedules, and deployment histories from their workstations Unlike PDQ Connect, PDQ's separate cloud-native, agent-based product for remote and hybrid fleets, PDQ Deploy & Inventory is purpose-built for on-prem and VPN-connected environments where devices are network-accessible. PDQ was founded in 2001 and is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. The company develops device management software purpose-built for Windows-focused IT teams, ranging from solo sysadmins to mid-sized IT departments. PDQ's product portfolio includes PDQ Deploy & Inventory for on-prem environments, cloud-native PDQ Connect for remote and hybrid fleet management, SmartDeploy for Windows imaging, SimpleMDM for Apple device management, ISL for remote access and remote desktop support, and PDQ Detect for vulnerability management. PDQ Deploy & Inventory is used by IT teams in education, government, manufacturing, healthcare, and finance. Licensed per administrator with unlimited endpoint access — not per device.

## PDQ Deploy & Inventory Reviews
 ### 1. PDQ has helped our IT Team increase productivity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott S. | IT Helpdesk Team Leader, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

We love the ability to profile most of our applications and pushing the installers out to desktops saves our team so much time. We can image a computer with pdq deploy in roughly 15 minutes instead of manually installing apps over an hours time.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

With our current use cases thus far, we havent found too many dislikes. We love the auto-approval updates and the ability to push out installers like never before.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to spend hours installing software manually, and now with PDQ inventory and deploy; we can simply push out select groups of machines or individual machines quickly and efficiently.

 ### 2. Great tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul K. | Systems Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ Deploy and Inventory are very useful tools. They are pretty easy to use and have more features than I've even explored yet. They are great for basic remote management and make software deploys a breeze. I would definitely recommend it!

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

It can be tricky setting up custom installs and uninstalls, but there are plenty of resources online for assistance. I wish it worked a little better for Mac and Linux machines though.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps with keeping track of machines, the OS version, their resources, and what is installed on them. It makes being able to run CMD and Powershell commands simple.

 ### 3. Best deploment software on the market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jimmie S. | Helpdesk Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

It is quite possibly the best deployment we have used yet. Its is able to scan multiple AD forests and link them together for seamless deployment for sites across the country.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

There is no way to bypass apps that require admin credentials, even though it appears there is an option to do so. This feature would be the one I would love the most to be implemented when installing on 500+ devices.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mass deployment of apps and updates across multiple sites around the US. We can manage every PC from one singular location. The prebuilt app database is outstanding as well.

 ### 4. PDQ Deploy and Inventory

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Doug F. | Director of Information Services and Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ Deploy and Inventory are both excellent products that we use in our environment. We fully automated our patching with PDQ Deploy and this has been a game changer for us! PDQ Inventory allows us to scan and collect information with our machines and has really helped streamline administration in our environment.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

We have not found any downsides or anything that we dislike. PDQ gives us the tools we need at a great price. The product is easy to use and administrate. No downside.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With PDQ Deploy we are able to keep our devices patched and up to date. This helps against security threats that change daily. PDQ Inventory helps us know what needs to be updated and report on machines in our environment. These tools give us great visibility.

 ### 5. PDQ Deploy Makes my Life Easier!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher P. | System Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ Deploy makes setting up PCs for new hires incredibly simple. I can create deployment packages based on the users' job containing all the programs the position will use, pick the desired PC from the domain controller, deploy, and forget! Having to install them individually used to be such an arduous process but now I can focus on other tasks while PDQ does all the work.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I cannot think of any. Sometimes it can be difficult to find how to run specific installs silently, but that is not on PDQ and more on the developer of the application I'm attempting to deploy.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is saving my company and I time, and thus, money, since I no longer need to devote hours of my day installing software individually every time we get a new hire.

 ### 6. A fantastic product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

My organization's IT department has implemented many systems this year. The one that really stands out is PDQ. The product works right from the get go and has so many useful features. I've used SCCM in the past and PDQ is so much easier.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The only gripe I have is that the product is split between pdq deploy and pdq inventory. It's not a huge deal as they can send calls to eachother to do certain things. It would be more seamless if they were one install though. It really is a great product overall.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's removing a lot of powershelling for various tasks that would be needed. It's helping us keep up to date with vulnerability scan results from qualys. It also makes pushing quick scripts and software installs super easy.

 ### 7. PDQ has been a life saver for managing software in the organization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan O. | Systems Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The ability to create collections based on a specific software installation.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

There isn't much I do not like about the product. If I had to choose, I would say that sometimes an uninstall of a piece of software leave traces of it behind after it is removed and it can still be seen in the system tray but not in programs and features.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Installation and removal of software. We recently switched antivirus providers and I used PDQ to create collections based on who had the new and old products installed and proceed to remove and add as necessary.

 ### 8. effective time saver, straightforward and simple to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Reginald M. | TECHNICAL SUPPORT OFFICER, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

You can dive straight in without any required steep learning curve. A one-stop shop for management and deployment never misses a beat and saves hours of work. Totally customizable commands and steps allow for great versatility which offers use cases throughout the business.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Remote devices (e.g. Laptops and servers in DMZ) are not catered for, an installable agent for these cases is needed. A vulnerability report linked to CVEs would be advantageous.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Management of applications deployment and removal across the entire environment with ease while saving time. Remote management of devices with full insight of our inventory.

 ### 9. PDQ, An Excellent Software Deployment Solution for Small and Midsized Companies

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin L. | Business Systems Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Ease of access to documentation and a strong support community.

Intuitive workflow.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQs scalability doesn't work as effectively at larger sizes compared to other solutions.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our business was still doing software installs by hand or a few scattered PowerShell scripts when I started. A solution was needed to streamline and automate the process to free up some of our infrastructure departments time. PDQ fits the sweet spot for us without going into something like Intune. It allowed us to build our our software repository and deploy easily, as a stepping stone to larger solutions in the future.

 ### 10. Excellent Tools!

**Reviewed by:** Andrew L. | Director of Technology & Innovation, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ's Inventory and Deploy tools are very easy to use and very powerful, especially for the price! Managing our devices and upgrades couldn't be easier. In addition, their customer support is very responsive and their training tutorials are very informative (We are big fans of Lex's tutorials!).

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

So far my team has yet to find anything that we dislike about the platforms.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PDQ has been tremendous in pushing out applications to our devices as well as managing our important updates and patches. It has also been tremendously helpful in managing our inventory.

 ### 11. Deploying softwares and updates haven't been so easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Estarlin T. | IT Administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

How you can organize all your computers and deploy software.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

It can be a great idea to have a web app, sometimes I'm on another computer, and I want to list, check and do some other things with the inventory software, but you can't; I know PDQ has another software called Smart Deploy which I haven't used yet but PDQ Inventory I think have a different potential they can take advantage of.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windows updates, massive software updates and deploying several scripts that amazing.

 ### 12. Software deployment made easy!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adrian T. | CISO, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ deploy has absolutely transformed the way that we deploy and update software. gone are the manual, time consuming installs either by local or remote access. deployments can now be made my one member of the team with ease and we can easily see the status of each.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

We've not found any disadvantages so far, only positive reports from the team here. We absolutely love it!

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PDQ Deploy has solved deployment and patch management, streamlining and automating the way we work within the installations team, reducing time to deploy and ensuring patches are managed effectively

 ### 13. The best patch management and deployment software on the market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel M. | IT Operations and Services Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

Here's what I like best:

1) Built-in packages- With one click, installations can be conducted on multiple workstations easily.

2) Patch management made easy- PDQ deploy has the latest updates for various applications. It's a one-stop shop for patching.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

There's nothing I dislike about the software. The support page has tons of videos and tutorials that make a sysadmin's life very easy.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Here's what we're solving:

1) Seamless installations- Installing software on multiple workstations through packages, thus increasing our productivity

2) Easy patch management- Deploying the latest updates across all systems through PDQ's updates inventory.

 ### 14. Game Changer!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dale H. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The interface is simple to use, and in conjunction with PDQ Inventory, it allows us to stay up to date with updates and identify workstations and servers missing key applications or settings.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I don't have particular item that comes to mind regarding functionality or information that may be missing or causing issues in our environment. The application has been rock solid for us.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PDQ is assisting with our new location setups and addressing deployment needs specific to each location and also with updates and drivers necessary for our locations to thrive and be successful.

 ### 15. Excellent, highly flexible product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan S. | Group IT Operations Director, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ Deploy is an incredibly easy to use product, allowing colleagues to quickly pick up and leverage the product to deploy a deliver a range of content to client endpoints very quickly.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

It's relatively minor and can be accomplished outside of the product, but scaling content for larger, more geographically diverse businesses is natively lacking. We get around this through the use of DFS and deployments running in pull mode.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use PDQ Deploy to deliver almost anything in a quick, reliable fashion: updates, registry modifications, software installs, reboots, policy pulls, Powershell code.

 ### 16. Big help in automation of software deployment

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

We love that you can build a robust, multi-step install package to deploy without manually installing prerequisites. PDQ's integration with Active Directory makes pushing to domain PCs simple and shows the status of each install, so you know which steps have been completed and if they are successful or have encountered a problem.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The only suggestion that I could make is that it would be helpful if there were a way to tell if the workstation you are deploying to is, in fact, online and able to accept the push.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We outsource our HelpDesk and PC management, and the vendor's management tools did not allow for the robust deployment of software packages, which led to a lot of manual work for my team. PDQ helped eliminate that.

 ### 17. Best Windows Deployment Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexander B. | Network Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Able to create custom deployments for different types of file types, or even with BAT and PowerShell scripts, plus know which targets have not been done yet and redeploy to them know when all systems have been done and much more.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Non, all good great software as it works well, helps us with what I need, and much more.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Help us deploy software to target systems on our network and keep trying until it's installed/copied on their system, knowing how it is done and who is not.

 ### 18. Best Deployment Software that exists

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan B. | Digital Territory Account Manager II, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I like the ease of use and ease of deployment.
One of my favorite features is being able to constantly check for installed software and install it if its missing IE Antivirus.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Nothing. I like PDQ, I have used it at 2 different companies now and deployed it myself at my current contract job I am working at.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PDQ is saving me time and the company money. We basically save an entire employee by being able to easily script deployments and updates.

 ### 19. PDQ Deploy - Must Have!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

It makes management of the endpoints so easy, with the ability to Deploy custom business critical systems and add in custom scripts, makes the whole process effortless.

It has really helped me take control of our organisation's machines to ensure they are consistent and always up to date!

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

It would be great if Inventory and Deploy were part of one package instead of having to open a seperate software window, but this isn't a major issue as the two still work together well.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No more visiting the PC, we can identify an update or install and target the machine via its hostname or directly from the AD container. It allows us to create granular script schedules for regular maintenance, windows updates, restarts etc.

 ### 20. Incredibly Powerful Time Saver

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Have you ever had to install a frustrating piece of software 50 times? Why are you doing that to yourself? Look up those silent install parameters, load it into PDQ Deploy and let it handle all the frustrating footwork in minutes. We work with a lot of frustrating software daily, and I can assure PDQ is not one of them!

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I've had zero issues with PDQ Deploy. Any frustrations or problems are due to software vendors not documenting their silent install parameters. Luckily PDQ has a large community figuring them out for you! Worst case scenario, you are throwing standard parameters at it until something sticks

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can spend my time thinking about solving actual problems and not installing software. Huge game changer!

 ### 21. Deployment Headaches are a Thing of the Past

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin R. | Information Technology Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Over the years we've used many different approaches to software deployment which have all been good in some aspects and terrible in others. We used home-grown tools, scripts, etc. PDQ Deploy hands-down, shines above them all. It's been a dead-easy justifiable subscription to renew annually.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Personally there's nothing I dislike, I heard from others that it fails deployment at the first sign of the slightest error, but I suppose that good be seen as more of an annoyance than a dislike and perhaps even a good thing.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With previous solutions, we had problems with good logging which made troubleshooting harder. This is no longer an issue, we can deploy more software, more complex software and do it faster with minimal headaches.

 ### 22. Deploy the Quick and Easy way!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Airlines/Aviation | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Having used PDQ for software/patch deployment across our platform and to users across the country, PDQ has been a seamless and effective tool in deployments, allowing our team to efficiently deploy saving us ample time. PDQ Deploy is easy to navigate and well put together with an extensive library. Having used other tools for deployment, in comparison, PDQ does not overcomplicate the process. Does what you want it to.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Deployments to our remote users can be a challenge. Having to coordinate with them to allow the deployment to successfully deploy is the only drawback.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to complete the task of deployments in a quick and easy manner, saving us precious time, especially where critical patching is required.

 ### 23. I'm amazed everyone don't use this software!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Doug J. | IT Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

This software is by far the best deployment software out there! Managing windows devices has become so much easier, we have over 2000 devices, and this software makes us so much more efficient and secure! Thanks, PDQ, and keep up the great work

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Nothing so far; it works exactly as we want it to.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use PDQ to update our windows computers. We use PDQ to push out almost every piece of software we use and remove any software we need to.

 ### 24. PDQ Deploy is great

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John K. | Enterprise Applications Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The inventory function is the most reliable inventory-gathering tool we have. It's super easy to see when a PC last "heart-beated". When we need to patch a third-party product, PDQ roles out the patch much easier and reliably than other products.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Nothing I can think of. PDQ is an inexpensive product that works as advertised. Inventory is reliable. One of the best parts was that it was easy to learn. My Solutions Architect was able to pick this product up in no time.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We decommissioned ConnectWise and had to have a solution for third party patching. PDQ has been an awesome replacement to ConnectWise. It requires no custom scripting to make it work.

 ### 25. Best deployment software hands down

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben J. | System Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

We've used a bunch of competing products for deployment for windows PCs and by far PDQ is just better. It's super flexible and easy to use, I've used it for years in my IT career.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I wish PDQ had better remote pushing options for those off the network or not on the VPN. It's really my only complaint, I've even used software that does exactly that but just doesn't hold up to PDQ in flexibility and useability.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes installing software and running various scripts a breeze. I can't count how many times PDQ has saved massive amounts of time deploying software. We only currently use deploy but considering Inventory for next year.

 ### 26. PDQ: It's great and cheap

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben B. | Director of Technology, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ works. We use it for software installations and updates, and it has made the process so much more efficient because they make their own software packages.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Nothing. It's cheap and it works! What's not to like?

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficiency mostly. We've had SCCM to push software for a long time now, and it works, but you have to package your own software. 90% of the time, there is already and package premade from PDQ that I can use.

 ### 27. PDQ Evangelist

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Chemicals | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Half of the best sysadmin kit I found to date - combine it with PDQ Inventory to make it a whole! Our daily endpoint management/admin revolves around them.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The access rights of the software are bound to a single service account, and there is no granular access control for the users. Can be solved by creating separate software instances for different levels in the team (e.g L3, L2, L1 or per site etc.). This means the creation of separate databases with import-export of the newly created packages. That's a bit awkward... It would be nice to have a built-in access control - selling point PDQ ;-)

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Super versatile army-knife for sysadmins!

 ### 28. Great software for simplifying management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Machinery | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The software library is fantastic and saves the department a lot of time and pressure.
The possibilities seem to be endless. Whatever I have "thrown at it" so far has been a great experience so far. It feels as if the mind is the only thing that sets a limit to what can be done with PDQ in terms of inventory and deployment.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I would love it if there was a good way to integrate several installations into one console. For instance, if there was a "main server" and probe servers for remote sites.
Also, it feels like it takes more time than it should when I'm trying to get/send data to/from Inventory/Deploy.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The time to get packages updates is heavily reduced and no longer dependant of a specific resource having time to get the packages out there.
It also makes it easier to manage and schedule deployments in a more granular way than before.

 ### 29. PDQ has been an extremely useful tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew F. | Desktop Support Technician, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I like being able to have all of our standard installs in one place to be able to push to new devices and also existing devices already in use.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Honestly I cannot say I've found anything I dislike

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PDQ allows me to get new and replacement devices set up quickly. I have more time to focus on other tasks and I can get plenty of routine things out of the way.

 ### 30. Easy and simple

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Olivier G. | Computer Systems Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ Inventory gives all the computer details required to manage our computer park. It is simple to deploy software and change registry keys. There are many resources on the website.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I had trouble deploying the uninstallation of some software.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PDQ Inventory helped us to update older programs by getting the list of computers which has these programs installed. Then, we deployed the newest version with PDQ deploy.

 ### 31. Effective, easy local system management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I've used PDQ Deploy and Inventory for a few years now. The paid version allows easy deployment and updates of many common software packages. This allows you to quickly set up policies to keep these applications automatically up to date. You can make custom deployments too for software packages not included with PDQ. Having INventory as well as Deploy allows for creation of workstation groups and better scheduling. All in all, this is an easy to use, cost effective software package that can quickly help a small organization set up automated patching and deployment without the extra overhead of managing an SCCM server.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

For the price, PDQ Deploy and Inventory are fantastic. I do wish it would work better with remote systems as it's designed to work on a local network only.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patch compliance
after hours software deployments
Customized configuration based on group membership.

 ### 32. PDQ Deploy is a real time saver

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard H. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I've been using PDQ Deploy for the last few years and can't fault it for ease of use. Very quick to deploy and can be used to deploy apps that don't normally work well with silent install, especially Autodesk products.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Really would like the option to control Windows updates with PDQ as WSUS is no longer viable.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can deploy a large number of products with a single click.

 ### 33. Affordable time saver

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** George L. | Director of Information Technology, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ is very easy to use, the learning curve is minimal and setup is a breeze. We on board new tech staff and point them in the right direction and they are able to pick up pon PDQ without training.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

A cloud solution where we could deploy to remote users not on the VPN could be helpful, but the security implications could also be harmful. This is not a deal breaker at all though.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Updating software that is not on our device management list of software or the ability to deploy after a fresh image in a scheduled batch is very helpful and saves us time.

 ### 34. PDQ as an alternative to SCCM

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher A. | Infrastructure Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The ease of creating a package and the fact that there is an extensive library of packages built in.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I wish that PDQ handled windows patches better and that pushing windows images was not a separate cost.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use PDQ as an alternative to SCCM; when I joined, we did not have proper software/patch management, so PDQ allowed us to better secure our network by ensuring up to date software.

 ### 35. PDQ Deploy and Inventory are invaluable tools for any IT department.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Britt A. | IT Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ Deploy and Inventory are simple to use and save hundreds of hours per year of otherwise manual tasks.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Not much to dislike. The pricing is a bit steep for small organizations, though. The free version is great, but a few limitations require the paid version for full effectiveness.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PDQ Deploy & Inventory save many hours in deploying software, performing assessments, and managing and configuring settings.

 ### 36. Great tool to patch nearly all your organization's applications

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The ease of creating packages and individualized steps help create a package that truly meets the organization's needs. It is almost unbelievable how simple it is to create and deploy a package to all the required machines.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Some of the error messages from failed deployments do not give too much information initially but the forums are a great place to look for solutions.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

3rd Party application patching has always been a tedious process but with PDQ it is very trivial and quick. There has almost been no issues with deploying any patches or software updates.
Rolling out new applications to all workstations is easier than ever.

 ### 37. Great tool for any sysadmins or IT departments

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ does a fantastic job of helping deploy your software to your devices. You can create deployments for multiple programs and schedule them to keep your programs up to date. Paired with PDQ Inventory, you can use the variables to automatically keep everything up to date.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

Deploying Windows updates with PDQ can be cumbersome and time-consuming. We had better luck with other products, but PDQ can do the job in a pinch, although much slower than some other products.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PDQ has made our third-party patch management and program installation a breeze. We can patch our most updated programs automatically, with very little oversight needed.

 ### 38. PDQ is a lifesaver

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott H. | Network Administrator, Mental Health Care, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The ability to silently install without disturbing the end user is my favorite feature

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I would say that the GUI could be a little more user friendly but even that isn't bad

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PDQ is allowing us to swap out versions of software that do not meet compliance in the Health care space. This is a benefit because our requirements are very strict

 ### 39. PDQ is an absolute must for an IT Department

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason G. | IS Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ makes deployments simple. We are a smaller outfit and have limited resources, PDQ saves us time and resources.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I have yet to come across something I don't really like in PDQ.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our end users and devices are spread out over quite a large geographical area. PDQ allows our IT personnel to deploy packages and perform scripting rather than running all over and doing it manually.

 ### 40. FINALLY something that works for SysAdmins

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam F. | IT Desktop Support Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

I've been using SCCM for years and pretty much hated it, but it's all I had. PDQ has solved my frustrations and added a bunch of new functionality. Love it.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

The help documentation can sometimes not be enough, but that's a VERY small gripe.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can easily and painlessly create reports, deploy apps and do custom messaging blasts via toast notifications!

 ### 41. PDQ Deploy / Inventory - Life changing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

We all look for that product that makes it easy to deploy or create an inventory of all items but even though there are other products out there, PDQ is just KISS!

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

After using it for several years, anything I can think of something I wouldn't say I like, is usually fixed with the next update. I love that it is constantly evolving.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deploying software and even patching updates for specific software. This had been a very time-consuming task until PDQ came into play. The benefits of Inventory and creating dynamic lists has also been great to use.

 ### 42. PDQ Can't live without it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

PDQ makes it easy to check on your inventory of computers, check a specific computer, install programs or see the device specs. You can deploy to a mass amount of computers or a single computer so easy.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

There isn't too much to disklike it does precisely what it says it does and does so significantly. If I had to choose one thing, I wish installing updates was more streamlined.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We mainly use PDQ inv to check device specs and patch programs. PDQ deploy also does excellent at installing one-off programs for users in the background without them seeing.

 ### 43. PDQ has helped us a lot keeping track of our assets and who's using them.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bethany G. | Desktop Support Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I like that you can keep track of who has what installed and create special deployment queues for people missing certain software.
Also, automatic updates of software packages are a godsend.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I dislike that when deployments fail on occasion, the error codes aren't always very helpful. They'll have a number and sometimes will just say that the deployment failed which, makes troubleshooting difficult.

**What problems is PDQ Deploy & Inventory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PDQ is helping us keep track of what inventory our users have and what they have installed on their laptops. We can install and remove things remotely and often silently without needing to hassle people.

There are very few downsides I have found to this software

Schedule deployment, heartbeat option. When devices are alive packages will be installed instantly. Managing updates is great, while it automatically updates all schedules and deploy latest versions.

**What do you dislike about PDQ Deploy & Inventory?**

I can't really think about a downside. Perhaps because computers need to be in the office or run over VPN in order to have it fully working. pc's changing IP addresses often have to be rescanned first.
