PDQ connect is taking the best parts of PDQ deploy and Inventory and moving it to a proper cloud platform so management of remote machines is much simpler. They tools allow for more complex software deployment in an intuitive and affordable platform. PDQ has added so many great features that allow for grouping and analysis of the machines you manage. I love how PDQ Connect feels like a natural modern revolution compared to PDQ Deploy and Inventory. The biggest win for us has been the ability to manage our remote and hybrid workforce without the headache of a VPN. I really appreciate the clean interface and how lightweight the agent is. The speed at which it executes commands is impressive, and it's reliable and fast. It has significantly reduced our 'vulnerability window' by not having to wait for devices to connect to the local network to patch them. Restarting a failed install. PDQ Deploy could remember what steps it had already executed and would start from the failed step. Now you have to clone the package and disable the steps. They are working on improving it, but that is one feature I miss. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the ease of use and ease of deployment with PDQ Connect. I also appreciate that we don't need an on-premise solution to handle deployments, which means our endpoints can be pretty much anywhere and still get updates. Additionally, the remote capabilities are great; they give us the ability to access computers even if they have a slower internet connection and see where devices are concerning updates. We’ve been using PDQ for years, and it’s still one of the best IT purchases I’ve made. PDQ Connect adds remote support and vulnerability scanning to an already solid set of tools, which makes day-to-day management a lot easier. It fits nicely into how we already work with PDQ, and it’s been genuinely useful rather than feeling like extra fluff. I like being able to deploy to any device that's connected to the internet, regardless of whether they're at work or at home. If they're online, we can push applications to them. Having a remote desktop client is great too. It's particularly beneficial for us as my team isn't physically present at all sites, and some staff work from home, so being able to remote desktop in to support them is useful. I'm used to PDQ Inventory and Deploy, and PDQ Connect has much fewer features. Not being able to organize packages into folders is frustrating. It's inconvenient not being able to scan devices with custom PowerShell; there's a workaround, but it's more work than just supplying the PowerShell. I really wish there was a self-service install option so clients could log into a portal and choose the applications they want installed on their laptops, and then PDQ sends them. Its a single pane of glass to view and manage our entire IT estate. It has flexible and easy to use automations, package deployment, dynamic device groupings based on system attributes and custom system scanners to look for files/folders and registry entries.

I have already submitted a few improvements I'd like to see such as the ability with patch management to "tier" the roll out of Windows updates (i.e apply "latest" patch to "group 1" and apply patch n-1 to "group 2")

I like how PDQ Connect makes it easier to keep track of all the computers on a network and the software they have. It streamlines the process of upgrading software patches and managing updates. I find it allows me to update packages effortlessly and is generally easier to use compared to other methods. It's extremely intuitive and easy to use, which saves me a lot of time. That it lives up to it's name. It's incredibly fast, particularly when it comes to host updates and deployments. It's been a wonderful tool to use when triaging issues related to security patches and software rollbacks in our environment. We use it in our day to day, and are currently considering recommending it to other partners in our sphere. Deployment is easy as well, both through our automated images and through the application itself if we have to do it manually. We do wish reporting was easier in PDQ, especially in regards to software inventory. Software inventory has been very challenging in our environment, with our other platforms just not cutting it. PDQ is very good with it, but generating actionable reports has been a little difficult. We've tried to refine our processes, but essentially, we have frozen the system for getting us a report before. That's about the only thing I think could be more robust. I appreciate how much PDQ Connect resembles PDQ Deploy, which we use daily, making it easy to switch between other PDQ software. Having used PDQ Inventory and Deploy, I'm familiar with these applications, and PDQ Connect feels like Deploy, making it straightforward to start using and set up packages. The initial setup was a breeze; once we figured out the portal and got the client installed on test devices, it was easy to push packages and build deployments. The only real issue with PDQ Connect is the inability to import our existing packages from our PDQ Deploy package library. What we like best about PDQ Connect is how fast and intuitive it makes endpoint management. The ability to rapidly deploy software to devices—whether they’re remote or in the office—makes a real difference in our day-to-day operations.

The web interface is quick, responsive, and easy to navigate, and the product is extremely simple to implement with multiple deployment methods supported right out of the box.

One area for improvement in PDQ Connect is user-to-device visibility. While you can search by username to see the last logged-on user, that doesn’t always reliably identify the intended target device for a software deployment. Having additional device metadata—such as the Active Directory Description field—available under Devices would greatly improve accuracy and usability.

Another enhancement that would be beneficial is real-time visibility into deployment progress. Being able to view deployment steps and output as they run, rather than only after the deployment has completed, would make troubleshooting faster and more efficient.
