We were able to cancel our Teamviewer subscription (thank goodness), save some money, while also using a FAR superior integrated product . 2. Then, I have packages that are setup to go to these dynamic groups so that machines get only what they require. This has been nice for our general user base as well as our IT folks who may need a few more tools than most people. The initial setup was very smooth, from our first test deployment to our deployment at scale. PDQ Connect made the most sense for our remote machines. **What do you dislike about PDQ Connect?** I have found that PDQ Connect sometimes has problems working with pre-installed software. For example, PDQ Connect does have deployments set up for Adobe Reader. However, if Adobe Reader is already installed on a machine, I have seen it unable to patch Adobe Reader. The workaround has been to uninstall the current version, then install the latest release using PDQ Connect. The inclusion of Remote Support streamlines remote troubleshooting as well. Using an agent-based approach allows for easy support of computers that are not joined to the domain. Additionally, we are able to deploy computers even when they do not have VPN or direct network access. **What do you dislike about PDQ Connect?** The scanner feature does not match the capabilities of PDQ Inventory. Because there is no built-in file or folder scanner, we have had to rely on registry workarounds to achieve similar results. **What problems is PDQ Connect solving and how is that benefiting you?** We recently transitioned to a Zero Trust approach. The traditional PDQ deployment method does not align with our Zero Trust model. With PDQ Connect, we are now able to deploy software and updates globally without having to expose our network to external threats. ### 46. This feature makes managing our technology much more efficient. We can also install and update software easily. As a newer user of PDQ I found it pretty easy to learn the software and use it for checking the district and finding devices I was looking for. It was inconvenient when the updated agent was necessary because of the security issue. PDQ did give a window to update these and allowed for automatic updates for devices on the network. The issues we had were finding the devices that were not used recently and not powered on. However this was not the biggest deal but rather a necessary inconvenience that PDQ did a good job at navigating. **What do you dislike about PDQ Connect?** I have not experienced any problems with PDQ. As I noted in the section about what I liked, there was some inconvenience related to the agent update. However, the way this situation was managed actually turned it into a positive experience instead of a negative one. **What problems is PDQ Connect solving and how is that benefiting you?** The platform allows for centralized management of devices and makes it possible to create and deploy packages throughout the entire district. ### 47. I enjoy being able to remote into someone’s machine and asses the issue from there. **What do you dislike about PDQ Connect?** For the moment when using premium connect their is sometimes an issue that appears when you click connect/continue that makes it seem like it’s loading when it’s not. Other than that I haven’t had any issues with pdq. **What problems is PDQ Connect solving and how is that benefiting you?** For my job we are now able to assist any full time faculty remotely through pdq. What was once a tedious and sometimes complicated thing to do is now doable in a few clicks and we are then able to assess and solve someone’s issue all from our office. ### 48. It's great that we can push out zero-day fixes quickly, and I find it very helpful that I can remote into PCs that are off the domain. The initial setup was a piece of cake for me, and I would give it a 10 for sure, as I think it's a must-have. **What do you dislike about PDQ Connect?** I wish PDQ Connect had the ability to use different accounts other than the SYSTEM account so I can change the name of computers easily according to who is using it. **What problems is PDQ Connect solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use PDQ Connect to manage multiple locations with less manpower. It allows quick deployment of zero-day fixes and offers remote access to PCs off the domain, which simplifies updates and maintenance. ### 49. It would allow me to easily identify my custom packages vs PDQ packages a bit better. **What problems is PDQ Connect solving and how is that benefiting you?** Automating our computer onboarding process. Right now, I have Intune installing PDQ Connect and using PDQ to already start the first part of the new computer onboarding process.
