PDFkind is a browser-based PDF editor and document toolkit for teams that handle confidential documents. Files are processed on the user's device and never uploaded to a server, so client, HR, legal and financial documents stay out of third-party systems, which simplifies GDPR compliance. Unlike most online editors, PDFkind edits the existing text of a PDF in its original font instead of adding text boxes on top, and its OCR turns scanned documents into editable text. It includes 128 tools: edit, sign, fill and create forms, true redaction, compress (including to an exact file size), merge, split, convert to and from Word, Excel and PowerPoint, protect and unlock. No installation, no accounts to manage and no seat limits: teams of any size use it from any browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android. Available in 16 languages, with full Arabic and right-to-left support. Free and ad-supported.
