Security concerns, poor support **Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2025 **What do you like best about pdf2qbo Convert?** Supposedly does what it says on the tin. **What do you dislike about pdf2qbo Convert?** The desktop version requires that the current user is an admin on their computer. Standard security practices dictate that this is a bad idea, and can invite cyber attacks and data breaches. MoneyThumb was not very helpful in getting it running. Their support rep doesn't write like an IT professional, and did not give me a full or correct file path for the install, so troubleshooting was more arduous, and is still unresolved. The only thing we can do to get it to work is give some admin read/write permissions to the user, which is ill-advised by current IT security practices. At one point I was told, 'We have given you the path and will not continue to go back and forth on this'. I find the support to be dismissive, condescending, and unhelpful. I am also very concerned with their security/coding practices. They called the idea of not giving a user admin permissions as 'strict' security. This is a standard security measure that many companies employ, leading me to distrust the integrity and security of MoneyThumb's products. A product like this is usually used by financial businesses dealing with sensitive info, and due to this, MoneyThumb should be more concerned with the security aspect of their products, as their customers' devices, systems, and networks will be less secure if using this product as instructed. As an IT professional, I would not trust your data, your clients' data, or the reputation and function of your business to this product, or to the poor security practices that MoneyThumb finds acceptable. It only takes one breach or PWNED device to cause untold damage to a business's reputation and IT infrastructure, and they do not seem to have contemplated the possible damage that their product, or any measures necessary to run it, could cause their customers. **What problems is pdf2qbo Convert solving and how is that benefiting you?** We only have 2 people using it.
