What do you like best about Apex Human Capital Management?

When APS started using APEX in 2023, we were immediately impressed by how user-friendly it was for our employers, employees, and staff. Training has been straightforward, and the software itself is very intuitive.

The process of implementing and converting our existing clients was both simple and thorough. The data team at APEX stands out as the best we have ever worked with, and the cost was very reasonable.

Apex also offers timekeeping, HR support, and applicant tracking features, which truly make the payroll software a comprehensive HCM solution for our clients.

We are also very enthusiastic about the future of Apex HCM now that they are part of the IRIS family. The resources and expertise that IRIS brings to the table are invaluable, and we are already noticing significant improvements in the overall product and the services we can provide to both our current and future clients. What do you dislike about Apex Human Capital Management?

The main challenge we've faced with Apex HCM has been its built-in timekeeping and accrual management feature. However, we're now looking forward to our integration with Swipeclock timekeeping, especially since they've become part of the IRIS family. The single weakness we experienced with Apex HCM has been addressed, and with the new Swipeclock integration, we now have a world-class solution within APEX HCM. What do you like best about Apex Human Capital Management?

Apex HCM is capable of running the simplest 1 employee up to employers with over 500 employees. We are able to customize the payroll to fit every need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Apex Human Capital Management?

Apex HCM is very efficient and easy to use for payroll functions. However, we have had difficulty with the integrated time-keeping software. However, we are excited about the recent Swipeclock integration. Since IRIS acquired Apex HCM and Swipeclock, the combined strength of the two companies will be very exciting. What do you like best about Apex Human Capital Management?

There is nothing to like.... it didn't do what we were told it would do; specifically, it did not do electronic submission of quarterly reports. We found out after the fact that we needed to register with every jurisdication (Federal, State, and Local) to file electronically. Of course when we learned this was past the deadlines and their support was worthless through the process. There "Onboarding" was even more worthless as it took over a year to get us up and running before we learned of these shortcomings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Apex Human Capital Management?

Of course if you read the "positives" posted, you would know that they sell you a product that does't perform as they elude. Then they have the audacity to tell you that you signed a 3+ year contract and that you have to pay for the service over this time period.... regardless. We lost multiple clients, across multiples services (tax, bookkeeping and payroll), due to their sales pitch and inability to perform and we continue to pay for this service that we do not use. In fact, we only tried to use it one quarter (after one year of paying for it before they trained us on use.... $7,000 for training) and this is when we discovered it doesn't do what we were told us it would do. This software has cost us in excess of $100k in fees and lost clients. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy, let alone a competitor.

You will find out that they are a UK company and customer support for the U.S. is limited and very questionable at best.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this company. You are better off paying the higher prices at QBO or other services than losing your clients for this company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

First, we’d like to clarify some details regarding the functionality of our system. During the initial discussions and in the documentation provided, it was communicated that our system generates batch electronic files for ACH and tax purposes. This allows users to e-file their clients' 941s and state forms by uploading these files to the respective portals. However, our software does not include a direct filing mechanism from within the system itself. We understand that this may not have aligned with your expectations, and we apologize if there was any misunderstanding during the sales process.

We aim to make onboarding smooth and supportive, with our migration team recognized as industry leaders. Unfortunately, the e-filing misunderstanding prevented our Training and Support Team from completing your firm's onboarding process.

Finally, we understand the frustration and financial impact you’ve described. It’s never our intention for any client to feel that they are not receiving value from our services. We take your feedback seriously and would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns further to see how we can make things right.

Entering payroll is faster, the system automatically checks and changes vendor payments, the direct deposit ACH is smooth and easy to do, also NATPAY is a nice add on from working with Apex. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Rate ID for second rates, the overtime seems to double, constantly have to go back and check rates...and sometimes minimum tips are given if doing a difference of 2 rates at a low rate and it will give tips Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Apex Human Capital Management?

Has got all in one features such as multi company payrolls and complex tax without issues, from benefits to rewards and recognition, enrollments with onboarding feature and most importantly applicant tracking system that comes with customisable reports.

Exceeded expectations while using the product and give you a helicopter view of an employee's life cycle in the company from scratch.

Can be used with wider team, with different locations, using different payroll systems and the product adapts well and never fails.

Integrates well with Microsoft and Google products and extracting report and exporting them into spreadsheets and even pdfs work fine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Apex Human Capital Management?

First implementation took some time and we had to get lots of customer support and some queries took serious time to get them done.
