"A good product getting better."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Payroll Relief?

PR is a large national player in the industry. It keeps up with law changes and has all the features of the large payroll providers. PR intergrates with AP well very. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Payroll Relief?

I feel customer support is OK but could be better. PR does not intergrate into Practice Relief for us. We have not used Practice Relief becuase lack of features. We use Bill.com for all billing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ability to control the entire process from client setup, employee setup to processing and filing. The ability to prefund and auto file returns is a time saver. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Payroll Relief?

"Payroll Relief Makes Payroll Processing Easy"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Payroll Relief?

Payroll Relief makes payroll entry easier by sending a link to my clients. They enter their own hours and I look over and review. When it comes time to do quarterly and yearly reports, everything is streamlined and easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Payroll Relief?

I think Payroll Relief could be improved by making it possible to pay quarterly payments out of this software less than 4 days from the due date. If I miss that timeframe, I have to figure out how to make manual payments which can be difficult. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Payroll Relief does it all!"
5/5
What do you like best about Payroll Relief?

Payroll reief does it all - from state and federal compliance, to child support and garnsihments. The setup is straightforward and support is excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Payroll Relief?

Downsides are mainly related to getting some changes handled quickly, like daily limits and days between submission and direct deposits. Generally not a problem but has raised an issue or two when last minute client modifications come up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A comprehensive payroll software platform"
4/5
What do you like best about Payroll Relief?

That for the most part, it is pretty much a fully automated system

Run the payroll and the system takes over from there with direct deposits, payroll taxes and all payroll tax filings Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Payroll Relief?

Changes are made to the system without notice removing or changing functionality. Customer support can be much better Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good product, customer service needs improvement"
3/5
What do you like best about Payroll Relief?

Easy to use when adding employees and processing payroll Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Payroll Relief?

Customer service/no way to inactivate clients without losing access to payroll history.

There should be a way to inactivate clients without losing access in the system. If they are inactive, data should be available for at least 3 years if not longer. IRS is so behind and this will cause major issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Proceed with Caution"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Payroll Relief?

Easy to navigate and find what's needed. Can configure easily for more complex payrolls. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Payroll Relief?

The price keeps going up, and there are very last-minute notifications, many times on 15-day notice with no time to communicate an adjustment to client pricing. There are no new features or additional value to justify the increased pricing. Their competitors are almost the same cost with much more value, better accuracy, and files/pay all government jurisdictions. It doesn't file or pay all taxes (local specifically). Customer service is subpar at times, and more and more errors keep occurring. Lastly, Payroll Relief places everything on the firm's shoulders. If they mess up, the firm has to pay. We are switching away to another software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Michelle Meyer of Payroll Relief

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with Payroll Relief by IRIS. We’re glad to hear that you find our platform user-friendly and effective for handling complex payroll needs.

We understand your concerns regarding pricing. While we had maintained our rates for several years, our recent adjustment was a minor increase on the price per check. Despite this, our pricing remains lower to other payroll software solutions in the market. We’re committed to enhancing our service value and are actively working to introduce new features that benefit firms like yours.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by late notifications and the issues you faced with local tax filings. Your feedback is invaluable, and your feedback will be shared with our head of operations. Regarding your experience with our customer support, we strive for excellence and regret any shortcomings. After reviewing the one ticket you opened, I see it was resolved, but we will certainly address these concerns with our team to ensure a better experience in the future.

We’d love the chance to discuss this further and explore how we can better meet your needs. Please feel free to reach out to our team directly at 631-256-4900. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we’re here to help.

"Very good program and support but there are some quirks"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Payroll Relief?

Pretty easy to use. No charge for direct deposit like Quickbooks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Payroll Relief?

Forced pre funding of payroll taxes has been an issue and it isn't fair to those not wanting or required to do it. The program does not file returns with zero liability even though the state still requires it. PRR processes an unemployment tax return for all states that you have a withholding number for even if you are not required to file an unemployment tax return.
