The customer support is very bad and exhausting. The chats are not being replied to. mails takes weeks to get answered. It completely messes up with peoples schedule 2. Comparing to other payment gateways, the fee they get from us is a bit high 3. There is no way to track what transactions were included in a particular payouts. no ids help us with it 4. the currency conversion happens after a transaction is made, and again no way to know which transaction's conversion happened as again no ids or anything can be used as reference 5. Until that point it still had the old interface popping up at various places. It had no option to issue an invoice, so users were advised to create invoices on their own. We couldn't charge tax on invoices which would require that, so we had to look for an alternative solution. When potential donors made a gift through the platform, the saw the individual's name and not that of our organization. That made donors suspicious of who actually received the gift. There is also no support via phone for small groups like ours. The written instructions are not easy to follow. The registration/donation form offers little opportunity for customization. The features are minimal. I hope that a paid version offers more. But we were not even offered a paid acct. There was zero follow up from the company. One would think there would be upsetting. Lastly, as a social justice group, many of our potential donors have grave concerns about the founder of the company. This makes them question our organization. Also setup auto pay for well over the months payment amount. They decreased my limit by 2/3 - just enough to cover what's been purchased. No help with this at all; unwilling to attempt to compromise. The only thing that i see is good about them is that they have been in the market for sometime which is a good thing and they are global which is also good but other than that and in my personal experiance they lack a lot. I wanted to put ZERO as a score at first but changed it to 3 since i actually have used them for around 10 years without having any issue to purchase stuff online and to send/recieve money but this was years ago when they were actually a good comapny. **What do you dislike about PayPal Payments?** Ill mention the things i dislike as points over here since they are many and i want to try to mention them all: - During the time i was trying to regain acess to my account i spoke to over 100 different agents where everytime i had to repeat my issue from the start and non was able to provide me with any help, they only copied pasted and solution from their manual and sent it to me and most where not even relevent to my issue. - i called the number they provided over 10000 times and was never able to talk to a human being even after the answering machine tells me that i will get connected, the lines cuts out. - i tried asking to speak to a supervisor in almost all my chats and i was never transfered to one. - i was promissed a call back from them several times but only got 1 on my last try where the supervisor who called told me she cannot do anything even though it was a small technical issue. - The supervisor who also promissed me a call back didnt call back At the end i had to lose my account and am not able to login to it until now. Inshort they dont care any bit for their customers. I wasted days and weeks trying to access my account wih no support from them until i decided to create a new account, where i faced a similar issue after only 1 week where i got a security noticiation asking me to add my mobile number to confirm its me but even when i eneter the same number linked to my account i get a message sayingwrong number and again the support was never able to support me. **Recommendations to others considering PayPal Payments:** Dont use paypall if you another option **What problems is PayPal Payments solving and how is that benefiting you?** I was a user for a long time and was living abroad when i was using my account without issues but the issue started when i left the country where i had been using my account and lost access to the number linked to my account, which should be a big problem since such things happen but unfortuanatly in paypal it was big issue, where i litrally spent hours and days trying to be able to get access to my account without succeding. Even the supervisor told me while on call that this is technical problem that cannot be fixed and the only solution i have is to stop using this email and create a new account, which by the way is a break of their Terms & Coniditions... ### 14. Also, the site will take forever to download a report. This is how Elon Musk became a billionaire. It's very entrenched in the market, and more people are familiar with PayPal than with other online payment services such as Dwolla, Google Wallet etc. It's definitely benefitted from the first-mover advantage. As a result, it's not as difficult to explain how to use PayPal, and people will tend to submit their payments through PayPal over other forms of online payment. **What do you dislike about PayPal Payments?** PayPal has a high overhead charge for submitting payments. It represents a very substantial fraction of purchase price. Some of PayPal's competitors, such as Dwolla, charge a much lower fraction of the purchase price. I wish I did not have to charge so much for the payments. In addition, the payments API is poorly documented and difficult to use. **Recommendations to others considering PayPal Payments:** If you can avoid PayPal Payments, do. Go to Dwolla. PayPal Payments charges more per payment, and the API is difficult to use. **What problems is PayPal Payments solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are selling event tickets online. We are trying to make it easy for people to find events that are happening nearby and buy tickets at the last minute.
