"PayPal Invoicing: Convenient, but Fees, Limited Customisation, and Basic Reporting Hold It Back"
2.5/5
What do you like best about PayPal Invoicing?

What I like best about PayPal Invoicing is how straightforward it makes the entire invoicing and payment process. It provides a simple way to create, send, and manage invoices without requiring extensive accounting knowledge or complex software. The interface is generally intuitive, making it easy to customise invoices with business details, item descriptions, payment terms, and branding. This helps present a professional image while keeping the administrative side of invoicing efficient.

Another feature I appreciate is the convenience it offers to both the sender and the customer. Customers can usually pay directly from the invoice using a range of supported payment methods, which removes unnecessary friction from the payment process. The simpler it is for customers to pay, the more likely invoices are to be settled promptly. Being able to track whether an invoice has been sent, viewed, paid, or is still outstanding also provides useful visibility and reduces the need for constant follow-up.

I also value the fact that PayPal Invoicing can be accessed online, making it practical for businesses and individuals who work remotely or need to manage invoices while travelling. Since everything is stored digitally, it is much easier to keep records organised, search for previous invoices, and maintain an overview of outstanding payments. This can save time compared with manual invoicing processes and reduce the risk of paperwork being misplaced.

The automation features are another positive aspect. Being able to duplicate recurring invoices, send reminders for unpaid invoices, and receive payment notifications helps reduce administrative effort and keeps cash flow management more organised. These small efficiencies can make a noticeable difference, particularly for freelancers and small businesses that may not have dedicated finance teams.

Finally, I like that PayPal is a widely recognised payment platform. Many customers are already familiar with it, which can increase confidence when making payments and reduce barriers during the checkout process. Overall, PayPal Invoicing combines ease of use, professional presentation, payment flexibility, and useful tracking features into a single platform. It simplifies what can often be a time-consuming administrative task, allowing users to spend more time focusing on running their business while maintaining a smooth and reliable invoicing process. What do you dislike about PayPal Invoicing?

One aspect I dislike about PayPal Invoicing is that the transaction fees can become expensive over time, particularly for businesses that process a high volume of invoices or larger payments. While the convenience of accepting online payments is valuable, the fees can have a noticeable impact on profit margins, especially for small businesses and freelancers who are trying to keep operating costs low.

Another limitation is the level of customisation available. Although invoices can be branded with a business logo and basic details, there are fewer options for creating highly customised invoice templates compared with some dedicated accounting or invoicing platforms. Businesses with more specific branding requirements or complex invoicing needs may find the available options somewhat restrictive.

I also think that some of the reporting and financial management features are relatively basic. While PayPal provides useful information about invoice status and payment history, businesses that require more detailed financial reporting, budgeting, or accounting functionality may need to use additional software alongside PayPal. This can create extra administrative work, particularly if information needs to be transferred between different systems.

Another area that could be improved is customer support. Although support resources are available, resolving more complex account or payment issues can sometimes take longer than expected. For businesses that rely on timely payments, any delays in resolving problems can be frustrating and may impact cash flow or customer relationships.

There can also be occasional limitations around payment holds or account reviews. In some situations, payments may be temporarily held while PayPal carries out additional verification checks. While these measures are understandable from a security perspective, they can be inconvenient for businesses that depend on immediate access to funds to manage day-to-day expenses.

In addition, some customers may prefer alternative payment methods that are not always as seamlessly integrated into the invoicing experience. Although PayPal supports several payment options, businesses with customers in different regions or industries may benefit from broader payment flexibility or local payment methods.

Overall, while PayPal Invoicing is easy to use and provides a convenient way to send invoices and receive payments, there are areas where it could improve. Lower transaction fees, greater invoice customisation, more advanced reporting capabilities, faster customer support, and fewer disruptions caused by payment reviews would make the platform more attractive, particularly for growing businesses with more complex financial and operational requirements. "Essential for Freelancers, Seamless Payment Solutions"
4.5/5
What do you like best about PayPal Invoicing?

I really use PayPal Invoicing to keep my freelance work professional. It lets me send out clear, itemized bills to my clients as soon as the work is done. What I love most is that it handles payments ahead of things planned. You just click and pay with the card, which means I get my money faster without having to chase people down with awkward emails. It allows you to quickly create clean, professional invoices without needing complex accounting software. Customers can pay instantly using methods like credit cards. There's centralized tracking to see exactly who has paid and for how much, and I can send automatic reminders. It also helps me reach a global audience, receiving payments in different currencies. It integrates with accounting software like QuickBooks or Xero, which saves me a lot of time and manual data entry. The invoicing feature also helps handle custom wholesale orders. The initial setup was pretty easy; sending the first invoice only took a few minutes, and connecting the bank was seamless. Overall, the experience was pretty nice. I find PayPal Invoicing very reliable and would definitely recommend it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PayPal Invoicing?

I think it could be better if customization options for invoices were more flexible. Like, being able to easily change the layout, add a logo, or adjust forms to match my brand would be great. Also, transaction fees seem a bit high or hard to calculate when sending invoices. Automation could be improved too, to make it easier for business owners to set up invoices and reminders. Lastly, broader platform accessibility would be nice, like having more support for systems like Linux. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple, Reliable, and Secure—Saves Time with Responsive Support"
4/5
What do you like best about PayPal Invoicing?

It is very simple to use. It is reliable and can be used for a wide range of products. It is safe and secure and is well worth the price. It can be used in tandem with other services effortlessly. It is partnered with CHAT GPT for ease and its support crew are responsive and helpful. A lot of time is saved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PayPal Invoicing?

Sometimes, its currency conversion rates are not the best. When invoicing international clients, the exchange rate PayPal applies is often noticeably worse than the mid-market rate you'd get from a bank or a dedicated FX service, and on top of that there's an additional conversion fee. For businesses that regularly bill clients in different currencies, this adds up over time and eats into margins in a way that isn't always obvious upfront — it's not clearly broken out unless you dig into the transaction details. It would help if PayPal offered more transparency about the exact mark-up being applied before the invoice is sent, or gave users the option to lock in a rate. A built-in comparison to the real-time market rate at checkout would also make it easier to decide whether to accept PayPal's conversion or have the client pay in their local currency instead. "Fast, Secure Invoicing with Easy Email Delivery and Payment Tracking"
4.5/5
What do you like best about PayPal Invoicing?

I like how quick it is to create professional invoices which people can then pay safely and securely online. It’s super convenient as you can just email and send them to customers and track if they have been paid or if they have been viewed by the recipient. It makes it so simple for both customers and businesses Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PayPal Invoicing?

I think that some of the fees for the processes can be quite high in comparison to other methods. Especially if some of these payments and transactions are small. A lot of customers prefer to have bank transfers so PayPal may be a last option for them as well as the fact some payments aren’t always available instantly which puts people off. "Fast, Simple Invoicing with PayPal Trust and Built-In Tracking"
4.5/5
What do you like best about PayPal Invoicing?

What I like best is how fast and simple it is to send a professional invoice directly to a buyer once we've agreed on a price for an off-platform deal. The itemized breakdown and clear payment request make the transaction feel legitimate, which builds trust with buyers I'm dealing with for the first time. I also appreciate the built-in payment tracking and records, since it keeps everything organized for my own bookkeeping across sales. And having the recognized PayPal name behind the invoice tends to reassure buyers more than just sending a raw payment request. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PayPal Invoicing?

What I dislike most is that going off-platform with PayPal Invoicing strips away Grailed's buyer/seller protections, so if a dispute or chargeback happens I'm often left exposed. The fees also take a noticeable cut out of each sale, which adds up across higher-priced items. I've found the dispute resolution process can be slow and tends to favor the buyer, leaving funds frozen while things get sorted out. And buyers sometimes hesitate or get confused when an invoice arrives outside the platform they originally shopped on, which can kill a sale. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple, Easy & Low Fixed Cost PayPal Invoicing with Customizable Invoices"
4/5
What do you like best about PayPal Invoicing?

Paypal invoicing is really easy to use and you only really need a paypal account to get started with it right away. So starting effort and cost are very low, especially since most people already have a Paypal account. Pricing, which is important obviously, is relatively low. Then, money transfers are very easy, invoices are customisable, sending out reminders automatically is very user friendly and lastly, it's nice to keep track of payment statuses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PayPal Invoicing?

Although starting costs are low because of the lack of fixed fees, the variable fee can be a blocker when the amounts go up. You still really need an accounting system connected to it, which is very doable but does cost money. I would say if you want to scale a business, paypal is not the invoicing tool to use, you should consider a dedicated payments/invoicing/financing platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast and intuitive billing, but fees and customization limit usage"
3.5/5
What do you like best about PayPal Invoicing?

The creation of invoices is quick and the interface is intuitive, especially for tracking payments. On the integration side, the fact that everything is linked to my existing PayPal account simplifies accounting, and I often receive payments faster than with a traditional transfer. The only downside is the transaction fees, which can weigh on small margins: to take into account in your ROI calculation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PayPal Invoicing?

Transaction fees quickly eat into the margin, especially on small amounts and for international payments. The invoice templates are not very customizable, which limits brand image consistency. The accounting functions remain quite basic (VAT, exports), and one quickly finds themselves limited as soon as there are slightly more advanced needs. Finally, customer support can be slow when it comes to handling a dispute or unlocking a payment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Invoicing with Seamless Payment Integration"
4/5
What do you like best about PayPal Invoicing?

I find PayPal Invoicing to be a quick, fast, and easy way to send invoices and get payments directly through the PayPal pay option. I like the payment gateway integration of PayPal, which makes the process better and the work a lot easier. It allows customers to pay directly through their PayPal account or by Credit/Debit card instead of sending wire details. The initial setup of PayPal Invoicing was very easy for my team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PayPal Invoicing?

I believe that it should be more dynamic and we can add more designing of the company and add more key value in the invoice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Consistently Excellent Invoicing for Over 15 Years"
5/5
What do you like best about PayPal Invoicing?

We have used paypal invoicing for 15+ years and it has always been excellent. We always recommend paypal invoicing to new businesses. There are many players in the invoicing business but we tend to stick with paypal as a lead option since most people who work for us know how to use their simple system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PayPal Invoicing?

It would be nice if it integrated into quickbooks and the fees were a little less than the competition. When we use software for invoicing or otherwise its imperative that it is seamless to work with. When you have to open up multiple software programs it makes the process more complex than it needs to be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy-to-Use Platform That Makes Invoicing Completed Work Simple"
4.5/5
What do you like best about PayPal Invoicing?

The platform and interface make it easy to find and invoice for work that has been completed. I also like that it tracks all invoices and includes a strong search option to quickly locate what I need.

Having all invoices in one place makes them easy to review, update, and adjust when necessary. The support associated with the platform is fast and reliable, with clear communication and quick responses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PayPal Invoicing?

I wish it were easier to apply credit notes to invoices, instead of having to go back and do it manually.

Sometimes the invoice notification process could be generated more clearly, so it’s easier to review and access on mobile.

Also, the login timeout could be longer, or the security checks should verify your identity earlier in the session. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
