Confusing Interface with Unexpected Fees **Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Sommer R. **Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2025 **What do you like best about PayPal Invoicing?** I found the initial setup of PayPal Invoicing to be pretty easy. **What do you dislike about PayPal Invoicing?** I was a bit surprised by the fees that were taken out automatically when sending an invoice for goods and services. Also, a little more transparency about how it works would be helpful, especially if you haven't used it before. I felt like I was fumbling around quite a bit trying to figure it out. I didn't realize that if I did a partial payment, it would continue to send the person reminders all the time, and I couldn't really find where to adjust that setting. So that was a little frustrating because they were continuing to get reminders to pay the remainder of the invoice. **What problems is PayPal Invoicing solving and how is that benefiting you?** PayPal Invoicing didn't really solve any problems for me. I was just trying it out to see what it was like. ### 2. It was difficult to use, interface was not intuitive and worst of all the invoice that was paid was not transfered to my account within 2 weeks of payment. I worked with Customer Support for several weeks to try and resolve the issue to no avail. Complete disaster. If you are considering Paypal Invoicing, RUN, this is a terrible product. **What do you dislike about PayPal Invoicing?** Difficult to use, set up, add hourly itemization. Most imporantly, I was not able to access the funds when the client paid the invoice. I worked with Customer Support for two weeks to resolve the issue and they were not able to get the funds into my account. Pathetic. RUN AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT!!!! **What problems is PayPal Invoicing solving and how is that benefiting you?** This is supposed to provide invoicing solutions to individuals or freelancers. In reality, the company cannot deliver on the promise. After a client pays the invoice, the funds are never transfered into your account. Sad. ### 3. It also has many features such as the ability to add a date of service for each line item on the invoice, to add either item discounts or an invoice discount, and to add notes for invoice items. **What do you dislike about PayPal Invoicing?** The interface is extremely clunky since their last update; there are a number of bugs that make creating and editing invoices a real pain, mostly surrounding the dates of service. Sometimes you may put in information only to have the website tell you that it is incorrect or insufficient. The only way to get past this is to refresh the page, thereby losing all of the work you just did, and start over. You then put in the exact same information, and you're fine. **What problems is PayPal Invoicing solving and how is that benefiting you?** For awhile, PayPal invoicing was the only solution I could find that would combine payments with invoices smoothly in a format that was easy for customers. However, the back-end work was just such a pain that I recently switched over to invoicing through my business credit card provider, and although the invoices don't have as many features and options that you can add, they are far less clunky and difficult to create and edit. ## PayPal Invoicing Discussions -
