## PaymentWorks Reviews
  ### 1. Streamlined Vendor Onboarding with Security

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Femi D. | Accounts Payable Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2026

**What do you like best about PaymentWorks?**

PaymentWorks streamlines our organization’s vendor onboarding process by automating compliance checks as well as banking and identity verifications. Vendors can securely submit their payment information through the platform. Overall, it’s easy to use for both our administrative team and external users.

**What do you dislike about PaymentWorks?**

Banking verification should be extended to foreign banking customers as well.

**What problems is PaymentWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A primary bottleneck for our organization was verifying vendors’ banking information. With PaymentWorks, this is no longer an issue, since their bank validation team handles that process.

Also, all vendor documentation (i.e. W9, IRS TIN matching results) was manually saved in our internal archival systems. With PaymentWorks, these documents are retained and housed within the platform, and they remain available for download whenever needed.

  ### 2. PaymentWorks helps keep our school district safer on another level.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Solitaire L. | Purchasing Coordinator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2026

**What do you like best about PaymentWorks?**

PaymentWorks is an excellent tool for securing payee information and automating compliance.

**What do you dislike about PaymentWorks?**

For vendors who aren't tech-savvy, there can occasionally be a slight learning curve during the initial registration process, but customer support and clear portal prompts help resolve most issues quickly.

**What problems is PaymentWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They have automated W-9 / TIN validation and bank account verification.

  ### 3. Validations That Save Hours—Plus Strong Indemnification

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jen C. | Associate Director, Vendor Management Relations, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2026

**What do you like best about PaymentWorks?**

The validations and verifications they do save me team hours of work per vendor. Additionally, their indemnification is important to how we do business.

**What do you dislike about PaymentWorks?**

That users cannot have multiple
registrations/companies under one account/e-mail address.

**What problems is PaymentWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Verification of key components of a vendor registration that would have been completed manually in the past.

  ### 4. A Strong Partner for Supplier Onboarding, Fraud Prevention, and Workflow Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2026

**What do you like best about PaymentWorks?**

They’ve been a strong partner in helping us navigate supplier onboarding, fraud prevention, and workflow management.

**What do you dislike about PaymentWorks?**

They have some limitations like Customers processing which is a need we need.

**What problems is PaymentWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automation of verification, ACH verification.

  ### 5. Easy to Use, with Excellent Support and Simple Onboarding

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2026

**What do you like best about PaymentWorks?**

Ease of use and product support. Onboarding was simple

**What do you dislike about PaymentWorks?**

Sometimes suppliers feel onboarding time is delayed

**What problems is PaymentWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vendor validation lowers fraud

  ### 6. Excellent Fraud Prevention and Enhanced Security

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jolene W. | Senior Director, Procurement, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2025

**What do you like best about PaymentWorks?**

This service helps enhance security by reducing the risk of fraud, which gives us greater peace of mind.

**What do you dislike about PaymentWorks?**

At the moment, we are facing the loss of the option to customize onboarding questions. Despite this, there are alternative methods available to handle the situation. Ultimately, minimizing fraud remains the most important aspect for our operations.

**What problems is PaymentWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Handling the financial aspect of our vendor onboarding process has helped us reduce internal staff costs and save time. The platform also assists us in providing a safe and secure way to pay our vendors, which helps protect our company and fosters strong vendor relationships. Additionally, the 24-hour rap back service for all existing vendors keeps us informed of any criminal activity, ensuring the safety of our students and staff.

  ### 7. Makes Vendor Onboarding so much easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 11, 2025

**What do you like best about PaymentWorks?**

As the person that used to have to manually take paper forms and manually input them into our ERP, PaymentWorks is a game changer. Vendors would not complete the form correctly or the information was not even legible, PW takes care of that. Vendors cannot submit for approval until everything is completed. I also like that they verify EINs for us, so no more EIN mismatches with the IRS.
Vendors now enter their own address changes and bank account changes, and PaymentWorks verifies them for us.

**What do you dislike about PaymentWorks?**

I do not like that vendors can go in and change their EINs on the account. In our business, they are a completely different entity and need a new account if the EIN changes.

**What problems is PaymentWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PaymentWorks validating vendor EINs and bank accounts is better for our business. Also providing us with sanction alerts keeps us in compliance.

  ### 8. Highly recommend PaymentWorks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** W R. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2025

**What do you like best about PaymentWorks?**

The vendor validation and verification process removes much time and stress from our internal process. We can be confident that we are protected from fraud, especially with ACH payments.

**What do you dislike about PaymentWorks?**

It can occasionally be confusing for a vendor, and we are challenged in our ability to assist them. PW support does a great job, but we are very dependent on them to assist.

**What problems is PaymentWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is limiting, if not eliminating, our risk of ACH fraud!

  ### 9. Confidence in Vendor Verification and ACH Confirmation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott S. | AVP Operations and Procure to Pay (P2P), Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2025

**What do you like best about PaymentWorks?**

The software puts majority of the work back to the vendor allowing my team to explore other options like Payment Optimization and Commercial Card growth

**What do you dislike about PaymentWorks?**

The interface works for 99% of vendors, but there are a few situations where the onboarding needs to be a little more hand-held

**What problems is PaymentWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They provide confidence that we are doing business with good standing vendors. They also provide ACH indemnification which is a great layer of security in the fight against fraud. Both of those were critically important to my health network.

  ### 10. How payment works helped

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deborah K. | Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2025

**What do you like best about PaymentWorks?**

Payment works helps with getting you paid by your vendors

**What do you dislike about PaymentWorks?**

I have not encountered any downsides to using this product

**What problems is PaymentWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are helping us get paid by the vendors wears using

  ### 11. Audit-ready Supplier Verification and Validation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2024

**What do you like best about PaymentWorks?**

PaymentWorks' standardized process, supplier-managed data, and the ability to include documentation to validate and authenticate supplier tax and banking information are critical to ensuring our records can be trusted to meet internal audit requirements and ensure my Finance teams can process payments timely and accurately. Its customizable compliance feature ensures our suppliers meet our targeted sanction list monitoring.

**What do you dislike about PaymentWorks?**

The non-US bank verification functionality, user interface (UI), and ERP integration need improvement. ERP integration should be enhanced (or connectors should be established) so invitations can originate from the organization/payee and not from PaymentWorks to reduce the perception that the invitation is spam or a phishing attempt. The UI needs to support multiple languages to accommodate non-English suppliers. The payer UI should also be optimized to reduce vertical scrolling, making the supplier information review process more efficient. PaymentWorks has an opportunity to be an industry leader in solving non-US bank verification to obtain "Verified" status consistently.

**What problems is PaymentWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PaymentWorks (PW) automated the process to verify supplier tax information, bank details, and compliance with sanction lists. The automation combined with supplier-managed data has reduced the risk of errors and fraud and improved our onboarding efficiency. PW also streamlined and standardized supplier onboarding, a historically difficult-to-manage process that created challenges to meeting internal audit controls. PW's centralized platform serves as a central repository with a standard process, improving our supplier information's accuracy and ensuring we capture the relevant and desired supplier data. PaymentWorks better protects supplier data through its secure platform and requirement for supplier input and managed data.

  ### 12. Excellent solution for Supplier OnBoarding

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robin H. | Accounts Payable Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2024

**What do you like best about PaymentWorks?**

PaymentWorks eliminates manual verifications when setting up new suppliers, allowing employees time for other responsibilities.

**What do you dislike about PaymentWorks?**

There is no way to reach out to PaymentWorks support by phone - only by submitting a support ticket.

**What problems is PaymentWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Employee time spent verifying vendor updates is handled by PaymentWorks, allowing employees time to complete other responsibilities. The ease with which suppliers access their accounts to view remittances is great! Suppliers are able to manage their information, updating banking information as needed in a secure platform. The fraud protection offered by PaymentWorks for indemnified transactions offers such peace of mind.

  ### 13. Makes my life much much easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mathew M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2023

**What do you like best about PaymentWorks?**

PaymentWorks has proven to be an invaluable tool, not only saving us a significant amount of time but also greatly satisfying our vendors. As a decentralized city operation with limited staff in the Finance department, the role of PaymentWorks cannot be overstated. This platform has provided us with the essential means to efficiently authenticate bank accounts for every transaction, a task that would be daunting without its assistance.

One of the standout advantages is the expeditious payment processing that PaymentWorks facilitates in comparison to the traditional method of sending out checks via mail. The accelerated pace at which payments are now executed has garnered positive feedback from our vendors, who appreciate the notably quicker turnaround time. In essence, PaymentWorks has brought about a seamless synergy between time efficiency and vendor satisfaction, playing a crucial role in optimizing our financial operations.

**What do you dislike about PaymentWorks?**

The current invoice file uploading process lacks the necessary flexibility, presenting a couple of noteworthy challenges. Firstly, it requires us to make modifications to the SSRS report, specifically to consolidate purchase order and contract numbers. Moreover, the system's inability to properly identify negative invoices is another issue. This results in the cumbersome task of manually merging invoices in order to rectify this limitation. Streamlining these aspects of the invoice upload process would undoubtedly enhance the overall efficiency and user experience.

**What problems is PaymentWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PaymentWorks has delivered significant time and cost savings for us. The conventional process of printing and mailing checks incurs substantial expenses, encompassing not only direct monetary outlays but also the valuable time expended by our staff. Through the adoption of PaymentWorks, our Finance department has been empowered to effectuate rapid and streamlined payments.

The platform's operational advantages are multifaceted. By eliminating the need for physical check printing, specialized MICR ink, bank fees, and postage stamps, PaymentWorks ensures a more resource-efficient approach. Its user-friendly upload process expedites payments to vendors, rendering the entire procedure both swifter and more economical. In essence, PaymentWorks stands as a testament to our commitment to achieving efficiency and cost-effectiveness in our financial processes.

  ### 14. NC State University enhanced the dupplier information management process

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2023

**What do you like best about PaymentWorks?**

The supplier data verification services are accurate and quick.

**What do you dislike about PaymentWorks?**

The lack of registration form setup options and customizations. The lack of reporting options. The difficulty interacting with foreign suppliers. The lack of transparency around supplier risk rankings.

**What problems is PaymentWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows the university to reduce the risks associated with the handling and storage of vendor data. Reduces the time spent onboarding vendors. Through the registration form layout, Paymentworks guides the vendor toward the university's preferred payment method.
