"User-Friendly with Room for Customization"
4/5
What do you like best about Paylocity?

I find Paylocity generally very user-friendly and easy to learn. The customization is very similar to other systems I've used before, which is a positive for me. Coming from using ADP and other platforms, Paylocity is as easy as, if not easier than, any other I've used in my 30+ years of doing payroll. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paylocity?

The ability to customize more areas of the system would be very helpful. The categories of the document library are limited to what Paylocity provides, and it would be nice to be able to create ones that are more specific for our company. Also, with any customizations, we would like to be able to run reports off of those fields. The learning and onboarding platform, along with time and labor, could use some customization and setup changes, too. The implementation is very short and limited. "All-in-One HR Solution with Great Pre-Made Reports"
5/5
What do you like best about Paylocity?

I use Paylocity for HRIS at work and I like it because everything is in one place, making it easier to update employee files, manage onboarding, recruiting, schedules, and time off. I appreciate the various modules it offers, especially for Learning, where I can assign courses to someone, and the HR and Payroll sections, which let me see everything I need all in one place. There are a lot of pre-made reports to choose from, which I find very useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paylocity?

I have trouble with custom reporting. If I want to figure out something specific, I don't always know the settings and the report produces an empty file. I wish it was more intuitive to use. The premade reports are great, but often when I am running a report I build, I need to go back and redo it a few times before anything is produced. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Integrations and Onboarding, but Customer Support Needs Improvement"
3/5
What do you like best about Paylocity?

They have a lot of capabilities and I love the ability to integrate other sites. I also really like the onboarding feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paylocity?

The customer service is very lacking. You have a great program but your people take forever to answer the phone, some are very rude and others have simply given us false information to questions about capabilities to get us off the phone. You have to keep calling until you happen to get someone capable or go back and forth with the email service who are usually very nice and better than the phones. We have been left hanging by our Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effective HR Features but Requires Flexibility Improvements"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Paylocity?

I like the reporting features of Paylocity. It's more welcoming than some of the big competitors, which I appreciate. The learning curve was pretty short, and I appreciated that. The initial setup of Paylocity was easy for me and my team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paylocity?

Paylocity has several severe limitations. If we don't use their time and labor tool, we can't manage how many hours employees can use PTO, sick leave, etc. for a single day, and there's no way to track documentation properly. For example, I have to go through each employee's uploaded PDFs to figure out their disciplinary actions and their severity. It also does not support an attendance point system. I feel like I get told 'no' more than 'yes.' We have to have several different time-off leave types for each state and municipality or position, which gets cumbersome. It would be much easier to manage under one leave category with many municipalities instead of having pages worth of leave types. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Paylocity--better than I expected but room for improvement"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Paylocity?

I’m a new Paylocity user after coming from a very strong ADP Workforce Now platform, and the transition has definitely been a trial by fire. Even though there have been a few hiccups, whenever I call customer service for assistance—usually with unexpected payroll issues—I’m able to reach someone who understands what I’m dealing with and can help me get it resolved.

One feature I really love is the garnishment service. It saves me a lot of time and frustration because I can scan the garnishment/child support order, drag and drop it, and then Paylocity calculates the deductions and completes the response forms on our behalf. I’ve also been made aware of other features I’m excited to start using, like the learning module and the ability to set up FAQ responses for employees to use. I’ve only been using Paylocity for about eight weeks, but overall it’s been better than I expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paylocity?

One thing I’m not a fan of is that the standard approach for getting help is to go to the knowledge base. With other platforms, I’ve been able to share my screen and have someone walk me through system changes; here, I’m either reading directions from a document or having someone on the phone blindly guide me through the process. As I’ve become more familiar with the system, some of it has started to feel intuitive, but certain tasks are still hard to locate and sometimes seem tucked under topics where you wouldn’t think to look for them. "Intuitive Interface and Helpful Support, but Consistency Issues with Case Ownership"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Paylocity?

I like the interface of Paylocity, it's mostly intuitive. I also really like being able to call and have the customer support walk me through any process that I am unsure of. The customer support team is able to mimic my view so they really know exactly what I see to explain the steps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paylocity?

I don't like having to re-explain my story to a lot of people when I don't get a specific support person. Example: the PTO accrual process was not working as expected, every time I called in, I had to re-explain the story of how it does not work for our company. It took a few years to finally get someone to follow through and assign me a specific person to resolve my issue. The hardest part of this issue was that it was year end critical, which is when Paylocity service reps are the busiest. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Paylocity: Effortless Payroll with Stellar Reporting"
5/5
What do you like best about Paylocity?

I like the ease of use and the report writing features in Paylocity. It's great that I can create almost any report that's not standard, and if the information is in the system, I can get it out without having to call or pay for custom reporting. The implementation team was awesome and really helped us create what we needed, the way we needed it, and they got our history transferred over. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paylocity?

I dislike the new people search. I preferred the Classic Search Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable HR and Payroll Platform with Strong Reporting Features"
4/5
What do you like best about Paylocity?

Paylocity makes payroll and employee management much easier by keeping HR, benefits, time tracking, and payroll in one platform. The interface is generally easy to navigate, reporting is flexible, and employees can access important information without needing HR assistance for every request. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paylocity?

Some reports can take time to customize, especially when looking for very specific data. Certain workflows require several clicks, and occasional system updates can change where features are located, creating a short learning curve for administrators. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Clunky Integration, Too Many Manual Steps, and Hard-to-Reach Support"
2/5
What do you like best about Paylocity?

I like the look of Paylocity. However, a lot of other features I do not like. I thought the integration was clunky. I work with onboarding and I like that, but there are complications internally and externally. I do not believe that there is an AI / Intelligence feature. I am also not sure about the pricing but our COO went with Paylocity because it was cheaper than Paycom. Overall, the performance of the platform is fine, but, it does sign you out randomly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paylocity?

I think that there are a lot more manual steps, which seems outdated. There is no AI feature for help. Customer service is hard to get a hold of. The implementation team and process did not go great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Payroll and Stellar Customer Service"
5/5
What do you like best about Paylocity?

I really appreciate how Paylocity integrates with our 401k company, making deductions from employees' pay seamless. It's great that they don't nickel and dime us when extra payrolls need to be processed. The platform is easy to use, especially when cutting payroll on payday. Paylocity’s seamless integrations with outside vendors for employee benefits deductions are a big plus. The customer service is amazing; whenever I call, someone who understands my problem picks up, unlike my previous experience with a competitor where I had to be transferred between multiple departments. Paylocity makes the setup easy, and they were with us every step of the way, ensuring we were ready for the first payroll. We even had multiple meetings to get familiar with using the product before going live. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paylocity?

Its hard to say what I dislike since I have had a great experience since I switched over from a competitor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
