Great that their dev tools work easily with all. Easy to get documentation. Quick support for questions. Moving to the Argon with the Feather form factor was an unexpected plus (LiPo power and charging for one). Love the OTA programming ability and online status. **What do you dislike about Particle?** Switched over to desktop programming using the VisualCode extension. That's much more powerful than the web IDE, but still haven't figured out how to find libraries in VSCode without using the library search function of the Web IDE. **Recommendations to others considering Particle:** Even though the Photo is such a great work horse at a great price, the Argon's feather form factor is worth trying out. **What problems is Particle solving and how is that benefiting you?** Making sensor monitors that report back to a server with MQTT. Having the remote platform deployed and being able to reprogram without dismantling it is great. ### 2. I was able to build an analytics platform that allowed to save money and energy usage. ### 3. You did a lot of job that I don't have to. There is no things to dislike. **Recommendations to others considering Particle:** I would recommend Particle becaouse this solution can drastically accelerate development of the product, that somebdy is working on. By default, they won't start running until a WiFi connection is established. **What problems is Particle solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have been using these boards in my Intro to ECE course to introduce students to basic concepts of IoT. They are easy to set up and use and honestly just plain cool. The students can easily feel a sense of accomplishment doing a project that is more than that standard 'make a LED blink'. ### 6. I am currently using the particle argon and particle boron microcontrollers. **What do you dislike about Particle?** I can’t think of anything in particular that I dislike, I am still a novice and enjoying learning more about particle products. **What problems is Particle solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have worked on a few small individual projects using the particle argon - such as a smart plant watering system, a smart room controller and a mobile gas detection device. I am currently working on a project using the particle boron for a smart city initiative and it’s important for us to use the cellular connectivity of this device in order to test outside and not lose service interruption. i am quickly realizing how the particle products can be implemented to solve so many problems in creative ways. ### 8. Multiple compatible devices using Wifi or cellular to get to the cloud. **What do you dislike about Particle?** As time marches on, DeviceOS gets a bit bloated. More tutorial information about setting up cloud frameworks (and additional particle support for each): Azure, AWS, GCP. The benefits are that Arduino programming model is already established and can be used. ### 12. The documentation is great overall. **What do you dislike about Particle?** I found out about some of the limitations after starting development, which is partially my fault but I feel like they could be more upfront about some things. But most importantly, the publish packet size limitation (622 bytes, 1x per second) is really tough for my application. It means I will almost certainly need to move to a bare bones ESP32 in production. **Recommendations to others considering Particle:** Honestly just pop it in a breadboard and start using it. It's not very expensive and easy to get your hands on one. **What problems is Particle solving and how is that benefiting you?** The API makes transitioning to IoT very fast and easy. Or offer smaller bulk order quantities. The current user has to give permission to another user to use the particle device. Because of the platform being in the internet or browser-based, there are some limited features compared to most established platform in desktop or portable computer. Also cannot use particle devices if connected to hotspot of mobile internet or without WIFI **Recommendations to others considering Particle:** This is a great platform for beginners who are learning to build a IoT device with sensors and electrical components. The only issue I've encountered has been rate limited publishes of more frequent than 1 second. I was able to adapt my project to account for the limit, but it took awhile to figure out that was the issue and how to fix it. **What problems is Particle solving and how is that benefiting you?** I do not use it for business, but the Photon and web ide has allowed me to make great projects that I can control from anywhere. ### 30.
