For me, the best feature in Parsec --that differentiates it from the competition-- is the fact that you don't need to leave a door open in your firewall to receive incoming connections, you just need to have an outbound connection to a Parsec server. It's not a problem with Parsec per se, but it relies on UPnP for port-forwarding, and AWS' NAT Gateway does not support it, unfortunately. So if you intend to keep your host in a private subnet, you need to maintain a NAT instance. Or you could place your host in a public subnet, with all inbound ports closed in the security group.
