## Parse.ly Reviews
  ### 1. A perfect tool for digital marketers and bloggers to get most out of their blog posts and articles

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jitendra B. | Content Writer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

Regular and accurate monitoring of site audiences plays a vital role in understanding how our website or blog performs and deciding on the right content strategy for maximum gains. With Pasrse.Ly’s actual time monitoring of audiences, I can not only understand the number of people currently consuming my articles but also see how the live traffic stacks against the number of visitors I generally get. It keeps me updated on where my present content stands and determines the specific areas of improvement.
The detailed reports give me a complete idea of the specific stories that are top performers, which helps me to decide the taste preference of the audiences I am serving and use these insights to serve them better the next time while also giving the right direction to my blog.
The periodical overview also helps me understand the specific times at which the particular type of content performs better than others, like the festive season.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

The auto-resetting of the dashboard can be a bit annoying when we want to access all our relevant options quickly. I think it should be fixed immediately to enhance the experience.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a blogger, my success solely depends on how my audiences react to my creations and blog posts. With the detailed reports and insights by Parse.ly, I can easily find the live traffic and compare it with my past performances. It helps me to decide whether I am going in the right direction or need any changes in my strategy. Besides, the historical performance calculation also helps me repeat the success I gained in my specific months, like festive season etc., by repeating a similar process.

  ### 2. Use of the platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leonardo Daniel B. | Creador de contenido y redactor SEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

I like knowing the data and status of the site in real-time, as it allows detecting issues before they cause a bigger problem for my audience. Additionally, the information gathered helps identify trends that we can exploit before the competitors.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

Perhaps they should add a better way to filter the data, since some tags are not allowed. Also, improve the viewing periods which are limited to one year.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The increase in traffic, to know which topics become trends and to be able to replicate them over a longer period of time. Since we have applied a more precise editorial calendar that plays with the temporality and preferences of our users.

  ### 3. Have used the platform almost daily for 6 years and would highly recommend.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Newspapers | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

The user interface is very intuitive and easy to use, so it doesn't require much, if any, training for new team members

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

It only tracks 'article views' - ie how many users view an article, and doesn't track additional clicks within an article, like photos in a gallery, so we still need to refer to Google Analytics to track total page views vs article views....but that's not a big issue for us. Parse.ly is so much easier to use than Google Analytics.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes it easy for everyone on our team to access and easily digest key performance metrics at the individual, team and overall level and really helps us drill down on efficiency since it makes it easy to see what content is performing well vs underperforming content, so it's easy for us to make business decisions about resource shifts.

  ### 4. Parse.ly is my favorite easy-to-use content analytics tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

Parse.ly is the easiest content analytics tool I've ever used, making it super quick to train editors and enable them to make data-driven decisions. Scheduled reports and an easy-to-use UX make it a daily habit for most of our editors.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

Slightly technical, but Parse.ly collects a lot of helpful user-level info that the customer isn't able to access. While I understand why this would be difficult to share, it would be SO great to have from a data perspective.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting real-time readership data — and historical data — in a user-friendly, easy-to-understand way has always been a challenge for newsrooms. Parse.ly makes it easy to contextualize data and gain insight.

  ### 5. Parse.ly is an invaluable tool for knowing what's driving traffic to your site.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

In addition to showing you how many views and unique visitors each of your articles is getting, Parse.ly also shows you where the traffic is coming from with individual breakdowns for social sources.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

I wish there were an easy way to see the view count for an article's entire lifespan. On mobile, you can get historical data for six months but on desktop, you can only see page view counts month by month.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parse.ly is a great way to see what types of stories get the most traffic and which don't. Therefore, you can focus on what works while tracking your experiments when you try something new or different.

  ### 6. Parsley is a great tool to monitor trends

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony R. | Senior Consumer Reporter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

It allows you to compare previous weeks and months to give you an idea of what works and what doesn't.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

I wish it had a tool where you can view stories published by the date – it would be good to know how stories are performing on certain days.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parsley is terrific for monitoring traffic and analyzing what works well and what to continue working on.

  ### 7. Good option, especially for real-time traffic reports

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

The platform does a great job of displaying real-time traffic reports in several different increments. Very easy to understand and dig into further analytics if you want.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

Some of the analytics, like trying to find referral information where clicks are coming from, are still a little vague. Also, it's tough to get reports on specific categories and tags if a piece of content has multiple categories and/or tags.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is making analytics much more accessible to a wider range of people, and -- in our case -- making basic analytics (real-time and historical) very easy to read and understand for editorial and advertising staff members.

  ### 8. How I like Parse.ly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephanie H. | Senior Supervising Producer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

I like that it is easy to view and user friendly

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

Sometimes there are bugs and sometimes I have to click around more to find the data I need

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me prioritize my work every day. I am able to focus on important trending stories and get data about them at the same time.

  ### 9. Parrse.ly review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Newspapers | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

It is very accurate and easy to use, everything can be found within a few seconds, the best thing about it is how I have access to an overall experience. It is the best in the market.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

I have nothing wrong or bad to say about it.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is giving me accurate numbers regarding the stories I write and it helps me compare how the newspaper I work for is doing compared to the other ones within the company.

  ### 10. Parsely. is a comprehensive way to keep track of website stats

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

The dashboard is super easy to use and view. Data is displayed in an organized manner. There's also apps for iPhone and iPad.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

Many of the report features available on the site are not available in the iPhone and iPad app. Doesn't show accurate Apple News data.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parse.ly is a way to view comprehensive site analytics and then create reports for analysis. I've been using it to figure out what stories perform and what topics to go after.

  ### 11. Parse.ly Makes Targeting Evergreen Content Worth an Update a Breeze

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeanne S. | Senior Community Engagement Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

Parse.ly is incredibly user-friendly and allows you to get information in real-time — something that's often hard to do with Google Analytics. It also provides significantly more information right in one place, rather than having to jump around to 7 different dashboards to collect the data on one singular piece of content.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

There are some limitations to the home page that may be very specific to my use case. For example, as a global company, I'd love to be able to split data right on the front page of my dashes to see how audiences are interacting with content from different countries. This is, however, a bit of a niche case.

**Recommendations to others considering Parse.ly:**

If you're looking to get a better sense of how your content performs across platforms and a better understanding in particular of your evergreen content, Parse.ly can be hugely helpful.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I came into my job to a pretty significant bank of content but no real idea of what needed how to prioritize updating that content. Parse.ly allows me to see in real time which pieces get hits from users so I can put those to the front of the update line to enhance the customer experience with our brand.

  ### 12. Being a Parse.ly super user helps you know your audience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

Parse.ly helps me know what stories are resonating with readers and also which ones are not.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

The app is not my favorite. I much prefer to use Parse.ly on my iPhone's browser.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parse.ly shows what stories are performing and which are not. Also helps change plans or update stories accordingly.

  ### 13. Very easy to use and extremely user friendly. A great asset for any website

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah K. | Journalist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

The look of it and how user friendly it is.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

It is a bit confusing when you add more elements into it

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working out our audience and what works for readers

  ### 14. This was a pretty decent way to keep tabs of analytics for a professional setting.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

I enjoy categorizing how I can find numbers down to the specific day and vertical. It helped me when I reviewed and reported how well certain site areas were fairing.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

I did not like how the interface worked on mobile. I was unsure if there is an app component, but I did not enjoy having to use the browser version for Parse.ly.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

N/A.

  ### 15. Parse.ly review from Japan

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Takahiro H. | Analytics Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

Realtime view is much easier to view and operate than the other tools, especially on mobile.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

Google Discover traffic is included in "Google search" traffic on our website, so it is not ideal for us to analyze the traffic source.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parse.ly provides real-time insight into our website traffic much easier and quicker than our previous tool, saving our workforce lots of time and resources.

  ### 16. A stellar platform, brimming with insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

At a glance visualization of where traffic is coming from, an ability to sectionalize quickly referral traffic by platform, and the capacity to see historical data at a glance.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

Frankly there's not much. If anything I would like the ability to create visualizations of the data beyond the bar graphs offered at the moment. That would be helpful!

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to understand where our audience is coming from, and create a strategy to capitalize upon different referrals, is paramount. We've seen incredible YoY gains just by knowing who is looking at our content and where our UVs are concentrated.

  ### 17. An extremely valuable tool.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan T. | Lead Producer, Florida Distribution and Optimization Team, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

How quickly you can pull together information from Parse.ly. You quickly see how well your posts are doing, and why they're doing well. I like how you can tell where referral traffic is coming from in a concise way.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

Occasionally, Parse.ly isn't specific as to how traffic gets to the posts -- sometimes, a post which has been highlighted in Google news or Google Discover may end up in the wrong spot or discussed in an unclear way.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am gaining a lot of insight into what works in search and what doesn't. It is difficult sometimes, however, to tell if a change is instantly effective -- that can take a little extra time. But search for the most part has been positively affected.

  ### 18. Everything you need to know, at a single quick glance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

I like how easy it is to find the essential metrics on articles, authors, topics, and sources.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

A more customizable dashboard could bring the specific metrics you need to one place.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parse.ly gives my team rapid insight into the multiple website properties they are managing real-time.

  ### 19. A great work tool!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Newspapers | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

I love the in-real-time status updates that you get. I also love how customizable it is

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

Sometimes I'm confused by the % of video playback when it's over 100%. What does that mean? How can a video be viewed over 100% of the time?

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If we didn't have Parse.ly everything would be a guessing game. It provides us with live status updates, which is essential for our business

  ### 20. Good Platform for Analytics

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

Parsely is a good platform to keep track of content related metric. The platform is easy to use and navigate - the metrics are straightforward and the platform is organized.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

It is sometimes difficult to understand how the metric is being tracked and need a little bit of digging to understand how metrics are pulled

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

N/A - I dont have any on going problems with the platform

  ### 21. Loving Parsely's analytics features!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

It is super easy to filter and pull quick reports for various campaigns based on a variety of different factors like date ranges, verticals, and referral source.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

I wish there was a way for us to dig deeper into the source of our direct traffic.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us keep a pulse on daily performance, while also helping us identify referral sources where we can grow or expand.

  ### 22. Very solid app

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

Clear and concise analytics that make tracking my stories easy.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

Inability to track what story types perform better than others.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unsure.

  ### 23. Easy to use and to explain

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

The possibily to see the perfomances of an article and the best referers

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

The overview which said that yesterday was the best "monday" on xxx mondays.
It could be great to have the same number of day for every weekdays

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solve the problem of trafic. The benefit is that I can use this data for reportings

  ### 24. Parsely is a great day-to-day traffic reporting tool.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

I really appreciate Parsely's at-a-glance breakdown of traffic across days/weeks/months and sources like Google, Facebook, and direct links. It's fast, far more intuitive than a dashboard like Google Analytics, and makes it much easier to deduce when and why an article is performing especially well.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

The one area where Parsely is less useful is its historical data: we can only view traffic going back a year, which means it's not great for analyzing our evergreen content over a long period of time. That means that for deeper analysis we still have to turn to Google Analytics, when I'd much prefer to be able to see years worth of history in Parsely instead.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem Parsely solves is simply making traffic analysis easy to do without the deep learning curve of a tool like GA. You can show anyone a Parsely page and they can quickly understand what they're looking at.

  ### 25. Parse.ly helps reporters see what readers are clicking on

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Newspapers | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

Parse.ly can tell you how many total views as well as break it down by weeks or months. Also like that it provides social breakdown.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

I dislike that I can't set it to my newspaper at the top.

**Recommendations to others considering Parse.ly:**

It is a great tool for gauging interest on content.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It can indicate what kinds of stories people are not interested in reading by viewing the views on a particular story.

  ### 26. Instant anaylitcs comprehension

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ricard M. | Journalist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

Its usability and quickness. Also easy to understand

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

It's very addictive. I find myself checking it in my off business hours.

**Recommendations to others considering Parse.ly:**

It's fast, it's fun, it's cheap

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A fast guide to what is working on the internet. It's easier for me to update content.

  ### 27. Parse.ly is awesome

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

Without a doubt, the best feature of Parse.ly is the Overview dashboard. Lots of real-time data presented in a clean interface - the sliding animations are a nice touch as well! Everyone here who access the service has that screen on *all the time*.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

There's very little to dislike. The web interface is excellent though I would like a dark theme option. If a dark option's not possible, perhaps a little more contrast between dashboard sections and larger, darker fonts especially when displayed with a color background. Lastly, the Share link could be more evident than it is now. Different charting options would be an excellent enhancement as well.

**Recommendations to others considering Parse.ly:**

In addition to analytics, Parse.ly also offers a content recommendation API that provides personalized content to users. It isn't cheap, and it does require a fair amount of integration work but you should consider looking into it.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Which types of content perform best and at what times, and which of our writers gain the most page views. We've been able to target relevant content to our visitors far more accurately while reducing the number of content categories and topics. As a result, we've achieved more significant returns on our content development spending.

  ### 28. Detailed and impressive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

I enjoy how much detail you can get in reviewing content, either by date or by author or section or even individual newspapers. I have tabs open for multiple newspapers, all day every day. I could not do my job as an editor without Parse.ly.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

Really have no basis from comparison for these types or tools, so hard to negatively judge it. Sometimes we get duplicate headlines show up, but that could be from a user end and not a Parse.ly issue. All in all, it's a great product.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're seeing which stories people like to read, when and for how long. It helps us focus our limited coverage resources in areas the reader wants to read about.

  ### 29. One of the best and most intuitive analytics solutions for newsrooms

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin W. | Principal analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

The different views easily convey the information they are intended to track and also answer a broad range of questions. The display also makes the experience much more user friendly.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

None immediately come to mind, however more customizable solutions and data cuts for certain use cases could broaden the application of information I get from parse.ly

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sections and tags that are driving scale. Also what types of content tends to drive quality visits. And where are readers discovering our content?

  ### 30. Parse.ly is my favorite analytics tool of all the ones I have used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexis P. | Digital and Social Media Producer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

I've used many different analytic tools before, but Parse.ly is the only one I think I've ever truly understood how to use. I never thought I would be excited about an analytics website, but I had used Parse.ly at my previous organization, and I was so excited when my current one switched to it too. I like that I can customize my dashboard's layout, and it's super helpful that I can see how our articles are doing in real-time. I also find the reports you can create and set up emails for extremely useful. There are probably a lot more tools within Parse.ly that I haven't used yet, so I'm excited to explore and learn more within Parse.ly.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

I do wish that you could still see the little pictures associated with each item when you have more than two columns on your dashboard. Also, I'm not docking points for this because I don't know if it's even possible, but I wish you could retroactively see analytic data and that you could exclude specific posts from being counted. For example, reports often have our paywall page as the top/one of the top posts.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parse.ly helps me decide what stories are the highest priority to post, which solves the problem of me missing something important or that people are really interested in.

  ### 31. A reliable count of views.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

I like the overall breakdown of stats by author, article, and month.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

I'd like it to be more user-friendly. There appear to be many features and to find specific data.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to see, to some extent, the kind of headline that resonates with our readers. It helps me to be more precise with my words.

  ### 32. Parsely Review newsdurham

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Newspapers | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

The speed at which it updates. The quick information presented using any of the topics and traffic sources.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

Would like more tabs to activate in the overview window. Would be nice to drag and drop info you want to see immediately. If I could have multiple Posts columns, Referrers and Authors to watch it would be good. The 3 rows are good but more would be great. Think Tweetdeck

**Recommendations to others considering Parse.ly:**

Explore the app and observe the content for a considerable period before making any changes. Analyze the data and then proceed with modifications. Understand the statistics thoroughly and then execute. This approach has been successful for us and it might be effective for you as well.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The system has determined which content is being read and can utilize data indicating when people are on the site to identify the best times to post content. It helps track which authors and topics are being read. We target when to share content based on data showing when certain topics receive the most hits.

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2020

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

Being able to see live website results is incredible - especially by day and the last 10 minutes. Extremely valuable to my role.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

I wish it was easier to see past days and the entire list of totals for that day and by article.

**Recommendations to others considering Parse.ly:**

A great tool and you won’t regret it.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s great for everyone to see live results, so that is a benefit and solving a problem.

  ### 34. What social media is hot, what's not

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Newspapers | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

Instant page view counts of stories and posted material. Cumulative page views of that material from days, months and years past.
Rankings for the day.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

Logins aren't always smooth even with saved passwords.
Byline, credit lines lead to several calculations in the page views.
Don't understand how the same author can have 50 views for one story one day and 50 for another the same day instead of just 100 total. Happens all the time on our Parse.ly.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Which social media platforms are most effective and which are available to be developed.

  ### 35. Top of the Line Content Analytics Dashboard

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin B. | Founder & CEO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

Parse.ly's ease of use is perfect for individuals who are not high experienced with using all functions of Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics. It's the perfect campion for journalists, editors and sales people.

The ability for writers to have access to all their metrics is invaluable. The ability for the sales organization to track branded content with such an ease-of-use without involving a company's analytics team saves countless amounts of time.

The ability for the social media and audience development teams to track which content on which social platform is performing the best is a live saver.

Parse.ly also has useful API integrations that allow for optimized and personalized recommendation widgets. The API can also used to personalize email newsletter creation.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

Some people miss the reporting of real-time on-site concurrents which Parse.ly does not report. If you are an advance analytics user and are used to applying segments, Parse.ly is limited here as well.

Occasionally, there are some small reporting outages, but those are usually corrected retroactively in a short period of time.

Implementation of Parse.ly on some of the new up and coming news apps and platforms take time before Parsel.ly integrates them into their tagging solution.

**Recommendations to others considering Parse.ly:**

Take the opportunity to meet their great team. They are solid with customer response and training. With Parse.ly working with many of the top publishers in the industry, they also have great advice on how to help advance your own publication.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parse.ly allows me to identify trending stories, patterns with our audience. It allows us to hold the editorial team accountable to both the amount of articles written and the traffic from those articles.

I have been the executive sponsor and used Parse.ly in multiple large organizations. Consistently, each time I have been able to grow traffic and increase editorial output by using the analytics that come from the Parse.ly dashboard.

  ### 36. Pretty good

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

The real-time nature of it. We get instant feedback on everything.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

I wish it went back further so I could see more historical numbers.

**Recommendations to others considering Parse.ly:**

Use a variety of different programs like this to see how they compare. It's user friendly for the most part and you can move quickly from one part of the site to another.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can't think of many issues. I have a better idea of when to tweak a headline with the data.

  ### 37. I love it

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

It's very easy to see the pages views which is important in my job and also easy to navigate on the phone

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

What i like the least is that i have sometimes troubles to find my articles when i just write the name of the person mentionned in the article

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

i didn't solve any problems with Parsely, i just go there to keep an eye on our views.

  ### 38. I love Parse.ly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Newspapers | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

It seems to me the best way to measure the audience of the newspaper in which I work.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

Overall I am delighted with the app, so I have nothing bad to say.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love knowing which channels my news audience is coming from, whether it's organic, direct, or social media traffic.

  ### 39. Quality newsroom insight tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

It’s real time insight functionality provides a great snapshot of what articles are performing well. This gives you the ability to pitch for new related content ideas based on what’s gaining high volumes of page views. It also allows you to gig into the referring sources of the traffic for given articles or sections of the site, which can aid the optimisation of said articles and plan for future content. The historical view is also great for looking back over given periods of time to see what types of articles are over or under-performing, which we can then use as valuable insight when speaking with the desk editors, giving them feedback.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

Not being able to see historical data that is more than a year old - understandably this is connected to the amount of money we pay! Not being able to track certain types of referrers can also be frustrating - for instance we'd like to monitor what articles are getting Google Discover traffic, however when comparing the referral numbers from Google Search Console with Parse.ly there is a big discrepancy - you are able to see some elements of Discover traffic via Parse.ly through the referrer googleapi.com. It would be good if we could anlayse articles in real-time based on common url strings within articles e.g. show me any url that has 'how-to' in the url that is generating traffic at the moment - this would be useful as not all url strings that we'd like to look at have an associated article tag that we're tracking.

**Recommendations to others considering Parse.ly:**

Having used other real-time analytical tools, such as Chartbeat and Google analytics, I find the usability and ease of functionality much better with Parse.ly - but this is my personal experience and based on the metrics I track, so would advice you look at all products. If possible, it would be worth getting the package that allows you to see historical data older than a year's period so you can see more actionable and valuable insights over a longer trend period.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can track performance of utm codes we attach to our social pages and web push notifications, which provides a insightful breakdown of where we're generating the traffic at a deeper level than simply 'social' as a referrer, for instance. The evergreen traffic analysis helps content planning meetings as it allows you to see how we could improve our evergreen traffic by identifying what does well.

  ### 40. Parse.ly is my go-to site when I start my work day and when I finish.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samantha G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

I like the user-friendly interface and the way I can toggle between pages with ease. I also appreciate the way I can track traffic back to different social media sites and search terms to better optimize the way I share my stories and communicate with my readers. I also like seeing our author rankings in real time, which helps us understand which sections of the newspaper are appealing to different audiences at different times.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

The fact that you have to refresh a new page to see more results instead of continuosly scrolling and the way you can't easily see the Facebook posts that share content in the same way you can see the individual tweets. I also am not a fan of the site not immediately going to my home publication when I first log in. Sometimes it's hard for me to find my site, and it can be confusing.

**Recommendations to others considering Parse.ly:**

It's a great tool for both data analysts and workers to track performance.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Parse.ly to write better headlines when I can see what is performing well. I alos use it to help me see what types of stories do better than others on various social media platforms, and use that data to cater to different audiences. I also use the tool to help pitch stories to my editors by showing the performance of a similar type of story over time.

  ### 41. Addictive and responsive data

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

Parse.ly provides a very thorough and easy to access overview of all my data in real time and as snapshots of time. The layout is very intuitive, so I can look at the way the data is represented at a glance and have a good idea of how my progress is/has been.
For example, as soon as I login and select my page, I get an easy to understand line graph tacking my content across the last 24 hours. From there, I can choose other time periods to show my page views, unique visitors, and other metrics.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

Parse.ly could be better at allowing me to compare my results with others in my team and with myself during similar periods. For example, if I want to see unique users visiting all of my stories during the first week of the month, I can easily do this - but I cannot directly compare that - side by side - with the first week of another month, or a team mate's first week. This is a minor gripe - I can still see that data and make a note of it.

**Recommendations to others considering Parse.ly:**

I would recommend Parse.ly to people who are looking to have a better understanding of their established audience and their content. I'm not sure if someone building an audience from scratch would benefit from Pare.ly straight away.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem Parse.ly solves is how to allocate my time on different stories. Seeing how many people are interested in certain types of stories - travel, crime, human interest, politics, etc - allows me to better use my time to

  ### 42. Very useful software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carly-may K. | Community Reporter, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

The amount of detail the stats go into, and the live display of the feed. I find it very useful to be able to see exactly where traffic comes from, how long someone stays on a story for, and the exact time certain stories are being read by people.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

More reports would be good to get more frequent updates. I would also like to be able to see demographic reports: genders, ages, locations etc of people reading posts to better tailor content and marketing strategies. I find parse.ly a little unintuitive to use sometimes, especially with changing the display from the default or running reports, so perhaps an opt in/opt out tutorial guide would be useful!

**Recommendations to others considering Parse.ly:**

Very useful.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems I am solving with parse.ly are increasing the amount of time someone is on a post for, and seeing exactly where traffic comes from, how long someone stays on a story for, and the exact time certain stories are being read by people. Benefits that I have realised include being able to see, in real time, exactly what is performing well and what isn't, and from there I can use parse.ly to work out why that might be.

  ### 43. Very useful and insightful to use to gain understanding of site traffic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam S. | Freelance Sports SEO Editor at The Sun, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

The ability to use the 'pulse' section to look at search referral traffic every five minutes, which allows me to be reactive to posts when they drop in traffic. It also gives me a great indication as to what works well, while being able to look back over a period of time gives me the chance to review previous figures. I am also able to view the engagement time to see how long viewers are staying on the site.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

Some parts of Parse.ly have been faulty, meaning I have to use other methods. The 'posts' section does not always show me the complete list of top search referral articles in order. This means I have to use the referrers tab, which does not have the total figure at the top like on the posts tab. Another issue is that it only goes back a year with the current package I am using.

**Recommendations to others considering Parse.ly:**

Brilliant tool to use, tricky to understand to begin with, but is very insightful once you do.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been able to see what articles work well at gaining good traffic, and which do not, so I can alter our future output and therefore improve our traffic. The pulse section also means I can be reactive when traffic drops, as it gives me a good indication when top performing articles have fallen off the top ranking on Google with regards to search referrals.

  ### 44. I have enjoyed using Parse.ley and would recommend to friends and colleagues

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

everything, the analytics are very intense

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

It is hard to get a report of things but other than that it is good

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I know what stories do well and which dont

  ### 45. I think Parse.ly offers a clean and intuitive way to track traffic

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

The live reporting on what content was doing well in the moment.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

I haven't really found a reason to dislike it, but I know there was a lot more I could do I hadn't yet been able to dive into

**Recommendations to others considering Parse.ly:**

Give it a shot, the free preview is great but it really takes time for the data to come out.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While we've paused our use of the program, I was loving the reporting aspect and pulling evergreen content that was still trending we could use. And I love the in-the-moment analytics of our readers and what was doing well.

  ### 46. Reliable and insightful on most fronts

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Newspapers | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

With the settings currently enabled, I have access to all of my organization's top posts for the last 10 minutes and for the entire day, along with a comparison between current and past traffic. For example. it currently says that "numbers math an average Tuesday." This is all available on the main dashboard.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

My biggest gripe (and it's really a small issue), is the breakdown of traffic sources. Under the "social" tab, I can see the mount of traffic coming from Facebook and Twitter, for example. However, while I can see the specific Twitter post driving traffic, the same is not true for Facebook tabs. When it comes to that platform, every link sends me to the Facebook homepage instead of the post that's driving traffic. This feature just needs some enhancing, in my opinion.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to find out whether my keywords and headlines and SEO friendly by checking the amount of traffic that results from searches. In some cases, I'm able to track down a social media posts and meet new sources for my reporting, or people/organizations that would be likely to share related stories in the future.

  ### 47. Parse.ly Makes Learning About Data Pretty Fun

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

I like that Parse.ly is easy-to-use and easily tracks the traffic you're looking for on your website. The design is clean, and gives me the two things I always want to know: What the top stories are for the day, and what readers are currently viewing at any given moment. I also like that it gives you specific information about where traffic comes from, such as tweets or the actual website.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

The only thing I find actively annoying is that Parse.ly is unable to track where traffic is coming from on Facebook or Instagram. So, you can't identify specific traffic is coming from, which is weird, especially since those are two big social media platforms. The Parse.ly mobile website also has crashed frequently for me.

**Recommendations to others considering Parse.ly:**

I'd really recommend using Parse.ly. It's easy to use and gives you everything you could possibly want to know about the traffic coming into your website.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parse.ly helps me realize what topics/stories readers are or aren't interested in. If I see a certain topic continuously doesn't perform well on Parsel,y, I simply won't write about it going forward.

  ### 48. Excellent real-time dashboards

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron B. | Associate Director of Content Strategy, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

We have a big screen TV in the office and we love the way the real-time dashboard looks. The sparklines help us see how and when each story we publish impacts the site traffic as a whole, and having it available and public keeps everyone informed. Also, integrating with our institution's SAML single sign-on system was easy so every employee has access to this data and can do a deeper dive on their own.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

I wish the API was more affordable; I'd like to incorporate this data in other places and keep up with it in our custom data warehouse.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By having a live, real-time dashboard available to everyone in a very public place in our office has gradually made us more data-informed as a news organization. We've gone from having no idea about story performance to now we're making bets on how many pageviews a story will get and when.

  ### 49. Very happy with Parse.ly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Newspapers | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

I find Parse.ly very easy to use, first and foremost. Seeing an article's analytics is easy and useful. Being able to track the history and see which taxos are having success is a handy feature as well.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

I would like to be able to see geographical information in real-time to see where the clicks are coming from.

**Recommendations to others considering Parse.ly:**

It's easy to use and actually quite addicting. I would definitely recommend it.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Seeing where our web traffic is coming from is very useful when deciding where to post links. Eliminating extra work that isn't driving traffic is beneficial in this fast-paced word environment.

  ### 50. Parse.ly - A quality and flexible data analytics programme

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Newspapers | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Parse.ly?**

Parse.ly is very easy to use and provides comprehensive data at a glance.

**What do you dislike about Parse.ly?**

The headline figure on page views could be more clearly shown.

**Recommendations to others considering Parse.ly:**

I'd advise trialling the system to show how all users, even if they are not technically-minded, can gain insights into their content.

**What problems is Parse.ly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are use Parse.ly to help all journalists stay informed about what our readers are enjoying, how long they are reading our stories, and how they respond to social media. We have found journalists enjoy the healthy competition and are motivated to ensure their stories are promoted.
