I like the good looking desktop environment and easy to use tools for vulnerability analysis. I didn't really have to download anything much except some things which aren't completely necessary to do my work, like VPN and wine. Also it's very easy to install on virtual machine without any problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A bit harder to learn how to use than windows, but after watching some tutorials was pretty easy to do most work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As the name implies, parrot security OS is a Security OS. The main thing I love about it is the simplistic GUI and light to run. It runs in a system with low specifications and heats the system way less than Kali Linux. It has even more tools than Kali Linux and is mainly focused for defensive than offensive. I love to work in Command Line Interface and being Linux (Debian distro like Kali Linux) it perfectly fits the criteria and even has root user access. The pre-installed Tor browser impressed me the most. It never crashed in mid of nowhere. Even my parents who are unfamiliar to pen-testing and security can use it securely due to its advanced firewall and other built in defensive security measures. It don't only have tools for Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing but also comes with a lot of powerful languages' compilers and interpreters and IDEs. That came in handy as I am learning python and didn't need to install and configure it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are very few things I don't like about it. But playing games is very difficult as you don't find a way to install them. Many of the applications such as Ms. Word and many other applications equally necessary for a students are not available for Parrot Security OS which made me re-install windows. Configuring and using dedicated GPUs was almost impossible letting me down with neural network and brute-force that are more powerful using GPUs. The community for parrot security OS isn't big that left me alone with some issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Having used Parrot OS which is a Linux distribution based on Debian for quite some time now, I really like the features it provides to a user for security/privacy experiments. Had switched from Kali Linux to this. It comes with a number of tools pre-installed which is great, the theme that has been provided makes you have the feel of what you're doing. GUI is pretty great and user friendly and most importantly, it does not need a very high ranged GPU. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some tools are must to be installed which are quite heavy, which could be a dislike. It is great for security or penetration testing experiments but despite that there are various other distributions which take on this one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In this 21 century, We are losing our privacy via internet. But this parrot Security os helps us to protect out privacy. And Not only this protect privacy, It is also easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't dislike this software at all. But in my pc it run little slower. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's a Debian based os, so it is very similar to ubuntu. All the software that is required for pentesting, comes preinstalled, so you don't have to consider installing them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's nothing to dislike. although I personally do not like the design of it. But I guess that is not an issue and it varies person to person. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Almost all of the tools from Kali Linux, but on a much more stable and user friendly base and with more current versions of kernel non-pentest software. Also, snapd is installed by default, giving you access to software from the Snap Store.
Like Kali, chances are extremely high that your networking hardware will work out of the box (critical for wireless on a MacBook).
Polished look and feel, easy install processing.
I like that it has already all the security software pre-installed and that it is configured to start safely. I pretty much don't have to set up anything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like it all. I can't say anything bad about it Even in a VM, it's amazing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The collection of tools is so far the best thing I found in parrot OS. The user interface is also very attractive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike the updates that they keep rolling out. Every few days, there's a new update. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
GUI is better as compared to backtrack. Bootup time is less and tools are more comfortable than Kali Linux Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Superuser permission is required always. Kali is preferred in live rather than parrot live. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Parrot is the latest distribution of Linux releases it has integrated security assessment tools for security professionals it has metasploit, burpsuite, SQLmap and so many penetration testing tools were integrated in the operating system. all tools are integrated in one operating system and no need to install one by one. Most of the Parrot-OS security tools are based on the command line if they can introduce inbuilt GUI based security tools it will be great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Parrot Security OS is freely available and user-friendly than other similar operating systems. Parrot provides many features for pen-testers, security professionals and all the necessary tools are pre installed. Although it provides many features it does not requires high system resources. There is a Sandbox feature to increase privacy and protection. Can be run as a live distro. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do not find any issues related to Parrot OS. I like this OS because all the necessary tools are pre-installed. The only disadvantage is there are few tutorials and user community related to Parrot OS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Parrot OS is one of the latest Security testing operating system after Kali it is more powerful than Kali and all of the Kali testing tools were integrate in to Parrot OS and it is more convenient than the Kali and Some of security testing tools has more in depth features than the Kali Linux. Parrot security OS also based on the Linux interface and more into command line, most of the tools are in command line such as Kali Linux and not support for many Graphical user interface supported testing tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Not much. The fact that it's Debian- rather than Ubuntu-based means that adding PPAs is a little more difficult (use sparingly - while not nearly as brittle as Kali, using Ubuntu repos on Debian can still potentially cause problems), in that you have to manually add them rather than a simple "sudo add-apt-repository ppa:whatever/whatever".
Limited Mate desktop experience compared to Ubuntu Mate, but even the Mutiny look and feel can be replicated with a little work.
Being Debian-based also means that lxd isn't available in the repositories, but you can install it as a snap. Nodesource and Docker repos (faking another distro's version name) and keys must be added manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is definitely not user-friendly for those who don't already know how to use Linux. Also, it is extremely safe which implies that some convenience features are not working. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
