**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2016

**What do you like best about Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS)?**

Parallels is great for running multiple operating systems at the same time.

**What do you dislike about Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS)?**

Parallels is very resource intensive. Otherwise no complaints.

**What problems is Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My primary computer is a MacBook Pro, however, for writing code and doing other types of development, I really enjoy using a Windows interface so I will run parallels with Windows.

  ### 2. Probably still the best solution for running Windows on Mac.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Security and Investigations | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2016

**What do you like best about Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS)?**

Easy to use
Relatively stable
Wide range of OS supported

**What do you dislike about Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS)?**

Can be a resource hog at times
Poor 3D performance compared to other solutions

**What problems is Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Legacy systems and certain Windows only programs on Mac system

  ### 3. Works well if you know how to use it

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2016

**What do you like best about Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS)?**

I like the idea of Parallels. An easy way to have software available to an entire company and administer anything on all computers at once.

**What do you dislike about Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS)?**

Parallels kicks me out for no reason and I have to completely log in again every few months. Also, it is not intuitive and can be hard to use if you have not been trained.

**Recommendations to others considering Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS):**

Take some training or read up on it, so you know how to use it.

**What problems is Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed something that would help us keep inventory of our computers and simultaneously update and install software on all company computers.

  ### 4. Best virtual machine!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2016

**What do you like best about Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS)?**

Parallels Desktop is for sure the best virutal machine ever. Why? Is very fast and stable. Great feature is that it has nice "installation wizard"(?) if you install Windows. It ask you if you have serial number, do you need koherence mode and other things. It really helps beginners users like me. The price is also not much so everybody can handle it.

**What do you dislike about Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS)?**

Sometimes I have problem with internet on virtual machine so I don't like it. It should works always ;)

**Recommendations to others considering Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS):**

I recommend Paralells Desktop for everyone who need it. Just try it and you will find that this is probably the best virtual machine.

**What problems is Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using Mac but sometimes I need to open some files on Windows. For examples CorelDraw. Sometimes I play the best game ever - Age of Empires II! ;)

  ### 5. Run Windows on your OSX

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stewart H. | Principle Engineer, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2016

**What do you like best about Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS)?**

I like the easy integration between the virtualized host and the native system.

**What do you dislike about Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS)?**

The software often leaves traces around that require manual cleanup. If you delete a virtualized guest system the integration with the host doesn't always cleanup desktop icons that it places there. Also, traversing the filesystem on the guest can sometimes be painful as it lumps in the host filesystem with the guest.

**Recommendations to others considering Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS):**

I would recommend not using the integrated mode and running it in the isolated mode that they provide to avoid issues with the filesystem and shortcuts.

**What problems is Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Developing cross-platform code, compiling, and testing.

  ### 6. The Best of Both Worlds

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2016

**What do you like best about Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS)?**

Parallels was very quick and easy to set up on my Mac Mini.
I can fire up a virtual copy of Windows 7 and easily utilize connected hardware across both operating systems such as my printer or attached USB HDD.
Parallels has allowed me to work in Windows-specific applications such as the ARENA Simulator without any flaws!

**What do you dislike about Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS)?**

I've had some system confusion between hibernation and sleeping. With the wrong combination of putting Parallels to sleep versus hibernate, after my Mac goes to sleep, Parallels seems to be stuck in its own stage and never would recover my Windows session. I've learned after toggling some settings to just consistently shut down the Parallels OS and haven't had much trouble since.

**Recommendations to others considering Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS):**

Great for running Windows applications on Mac OS X!

**What problems is Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Why carry around two machines when you can have both OSs on one? Parallels helps you get your work done on one central machine.

  ### 7. Easiest Visualization Tool on Mac

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adrián A. | Lead/Service Coordinator, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

Near effortless installation of Windows in OS X. Lets you open Windows files in Mac apps or Mac files in Windows apps. Deep integration options give Windows apps access to OS X folders. Fastest performance of any virtual-machine software.

**What do you dislike about Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS)?**

It has some stability issues but are not big deal, but i believe it depends on your hardware.

**Recommendations to others considering Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS):**

It is the best for beginners and non-technical users, if what you want is to run non-OS X apps on your Mac.

**What problems is Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parallels Desktop helped to run multiple operating systems simultaneously and seamlessly, and allows you to use Mac OS features from within other environments

  ### 8. Awesome docker experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2015

the docker integration in the new version is awesome, parallels was always the faster vm hypervisor that exist for mac, the work that the parallels guys was done with the docker machine is magnificent and really concise

**What do you dislike about Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS)?**

the command line utils still are inmate and buggy, the pricing model is quite confusing, i can suggest that you can have a developer or "docker" version that only runs a linux images and offer a cheaper version for freelancers

The software it self is battle tested, well documented and supported and if you are looking for a faster alternative to vmware or virtualbox on mac that can run docker machine seamless Parallels are the best option,

The greatest things the app in Virtual machine will be shown in the dock and it looks just like a native app in Mac.

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2013

**What do you like best about Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS)?**

**What do you dislike about Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS)?**

Unlike Wine or CrossOver, you do need a copy of the Microsoft OS. Also, you'll need a good bit of RAM, and since newer Macs cannot be upgraded, you'll need to plan your hardware purchases well if you're going to be running Parallels.

**Recommendations to others considering Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS):**
