I love the analytics capabilities the tool offers, we can see how long someone spent on a file, which pages they viewed, and when they viewed. Uploads can occasionally stall if the entire team is working on the same room at the same time during simultaneous uploads. The document viewing experience on mobile is not on par with the web interface, the web interface is very simple and offers a professional view for our documents. I manage our ESG reporting with portfolio companies to gather the data. Papermark lets me manage everything from our companies and easily share those files with the LPs. We frequently use excel and such I wish there were a smooth integration with both excel and google sheets, since many of our ESG documents and templates are of spreadsheets. The ease of use, SEO capabilities, and the overall dataroom tracking (and filtering capabilities therein). Compared to the standard go-to dataroom/document sharing platforms, Papermark isn't overpriced and covers most (if not all and more) of what the competition does, without costing an arm and a leg in the process.

The main issue we faced early on was document ingestion and processing for larger files, e.g., PDF decks, which sometimes even got stuck and didn't finish without getting help from the Papermark team.

Papermark’s cloud sharing tool with the data room makes it perfect for keeping our entire deal flow in cloud. It has great access control and separate room creations which allows multiple team members to work at the same time. They need to make link duplication for inbound links instead of republishing it. We currently download cloud links from other platforms and then upload it to our Papermark room which makes it difficult for processing daily incoming deals. Papermark looks great and it really has a straight forward interface. Since the tool is open source, we host it inside our firm. It provides more ownership and allows us to handle both our internal and external document transfer securely. It also integrates well with our MFT keeping the data in sync with our backups. It is great that Papermark has email notification, but it needs some more work. The notifications are not displayed correctly on browsers and it only shows limited information, like who viewed the document. While Papermark offers a robust feature set, there are still a few areas where continued improvement could enhance the platform even further:

Analytics Depth: While document tracking is available, more granular analytics—such as heatmaps or detailed session behavior—would be a welcome addition for those using the platform for sales enablement or content marketing.

User Admin Roles & Access Controls: It would be beneficial to have granular admin roles, allowing account owners to define different access levels for team members. For example, being able to share top-line analytics (such as views and downloads) without revealing personally identifiable information (PII) collected via custom forms would support better internal controls and data privacy.

Deleting docs is cumbersome as one has to type the doc name or some similar confirmation. Yes or no would do. A bit more customization in the data room GUI would be nice, the background image is a start but other colours and themes would be great (But nice to have).

For non disclosure purposes, it would be great, to just be able to add a short statement on confidentiality of the data room contents and that the user consents to this by logging in using his email address on the data room login page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I manage all the intellectual property diligence and compliance at our org so document confidentiality is non-negotiable for me. Papermark is my go-to tool for sharing documents internally with my teammates and externally. I can simply change my settings and access permissions while keeping the same link which is very convenient. The problem is the ability to change the links viewing. The papermark is primarily designed with pitch deck in minds, so it lacks when sharing other documents types though it has many file attachments formats available.
