I love how simple it is, there is no learning curve at all from the basic to the advanced features all of them are made to be used by both legacy users and people who are new to the tool. Few of the recipients we used the link with to send mails said our mails with the active links lands the mail in spam folder. I wish there were some more feature existed like more visualising like the exiting dashboard and batch settings to be applied on the entire folder subdocuments. We were always searching for right file versions across email threads, the thread was endless with mismatching versions of the same document when the deals are moving fast on the final stage of negotiations. Currently the access control either restrict the entire document or allows it on proving the recipient, but we need to have more control. I would like to lock down specific sections of the document we shared and only visible to the founders, and their counsel. In this way, we can a single sensitive doc. The best thing I like about Papermark is that we can pin point which sections of the memos our LPs are skipping and compare the data with previous quarters. The tracking is powerful but Papermark needs more integrations with other data tools. Right now, I manually export the document data and clean the data before using it in our existing tools. Right now, it has only one visualization for the view data, a bar chart. It would be great if there can be dotted matrix and such data representation visual which we can direly import to memos. A perfect platform for collaboration. If I send a document to a founder and the partner wants to weigh in, they can see all the activity with just the same shared link, with no email forwarding. Not much, but better version control and notifications would make the entire tool more useful. Only the only to keep track of the document tractions is from the dashboard and the notifications only informs the document has a view from the email address, nothing more than that. Papermark is open source and I like to use open-source tools whenever possible. The team actively support the open source initiatives and it is very rare for such a VC tool to be open source. The only thing I dislike about Papermark is the notifications. The email notifications are too basic. The tool needs login every time to view the dashboard for little context about the visitor but the primary dashboard has multiple visitor tracking information. We manage both our internal documents we create and the deal flow pitch from the founders using Papermark. There is a strong folder system and has multiple permission access control, so it works well for both managing the documents in the cloud and sharing the documents securely for the intended recipient. When handling both internal firm documents and deal flow, it is easily getting pile up, for links to get out of hand without grouping options. Papermark keeps our entire due diligence on cloud and the access controls keeps the portfolio proprietary information secure throughout our evaluation process. Receiving due diligence process was chaotic with documents via email and its constant needs for version updates, but Papermark seamlessly keeps everything on links. The platform is great with just some minor performance bugs. The document upload sometimes become non responsive when uploading multiple documents, the issue happens on Firefox.
